The store is ok, it is the online and over the phone customer service where there is a problem. I was on the phone for almost an hour and my problem was STILL NOT SOLVED! I tried to place an order on the computer and it said to call customer service. The rep retook my order but couldn't get it to go through. She transferred me to someone else that "definitely" would be able to take my order. They were having trouble with my credit card. The second person blamed me for the issue. I said that no other places have had problems with my card going through. I asked the rep for the name of a supervisor or manager since he was so rude to me and he refused to give me a name saying "this call is being recorded." I feel that was a threat to me!! It is VERY common to ask for the name of a supervisor when you're having a problem! It's not like I was asking for a home address! Don't waste your time with customer service. Scrap your order and shop at Chewy instead. read more

This may have been the worst experience in a retail setting to date. The cashiers are giving advice that they're not qualified to espouse and they also use shame tactics during their assessment of what they're ringing up for you. Yikes. This review is for the GROOMING SALON only...although the store is pretty awful as well. This salon is always understaffed, poorly maintained and unprofessional. They seem to only have one person working at a time and almost every time I have made an appointment for my dog they have called to reschedule. The manager does not work weekends...EVER! after complaining about poor service, I was told she would 'take care of me' but she r/s me again! and when I finally got in there, she gave me an attitude and did a pretty bad haircut. My dog's face was uneven...longer pieces sticking out all over and he was there for over 5 hours. I know groomers have a tough job but I know there are places that care more then this place. This place seems to have gone downhill in the past year and they practically forced me to go elsewhere. read more

Today my Maltese got a ton of burrs stuck on his fur. For an hour I tried to get them off his body and his face using a comb and scissors. The majority of the burrs were stuck on his snout, ears, and around his mouth and he was just not having it anymore. Our normal groomer was busy so we gave Petco a try but I was nervous because we've never taken him anywhere else. We had Eden and she did a fantastic job getting all the burrs out and it only took about 15-20 minutes. I will bring my dog back to see her for a proper grooming and will report back, but I'm sure she will do an excellent job. Also they had a bin of stuffed toys on sale 2 for $5 when usually at target they are around $4-5 each! My dog and I left very happy! read more

I am a fan of this location. It's very close to where I live, in a outdoor shopping mall with Kmart and Dominicks. The store is very clean with a wide variety of treats, foods, and accessories for any pet you may have! I do find it a little hard to find someone to help you thought (other than the cashiers) if you have any questions. They also have a good selection of clothing for dogs ... yes I am one of THOSE people. This is my one stop shop for pet supplies! read more

Excellent tour for our Brownie troop! Sarah and Sandra gave our second grade Brownies a wonderful tour of the store when they earned their "Pets" badge. They got to hold Guinea Pigs, snakes, and reptiles. They learned about the dog and cat adoption program and observed the grooming area. The staff was great as we "priced" how much it would cost to buy a Beta fish and a Guinea Pig in total including all of the accessories and food needed. At the end they gave each girl a little goodie bag to take home. It was a great experience and I'd recommend this Petco to anyone. read more

Clean and neat, great variety of fish and reptiles, many accessories in stock too. Sabrina gave me great care and feeding advice for our new baby leopard gecko, she was a wealth of reptile information and made sure all of our questions were answered before we left. We have had our 3 Newf's groomed here several times with no incidence. The groomer we had Tammy who was no longer there on our last groom. So we accepted another groomer. Not soo great results!! We a limping dog the last time our group up. Our youngest one we picked up had qa noticable limip. Once we got home it was progressivly pronounced. Took her to the vet the next day to Dr. Valyo she said to rest her for several day's plus Rymiidal which we did.Soo said tooo sayUnfoutky being washedu our Baby girl after several weeks of resting had to have Knee Cruciate repair surgery. We have taken our cavachon to several "high end" groomers in our area and we always are disappointed when we pick her up and she looks like a poodle (no offense to any poodles out there)! At petco they consistently listen to our requests not to cut her tail or ears and to cut her coat to the length we want. The only reason we have tried out other locations was when we were not able to get her an appointment here. And typically they can get her in for a cut on a day's notice. read more

Been coming to the store for years with my pets and always had great experience today I came to pick up one of my dogs from the Grammy area had one to the Checkout Ln., #1 and asked the cashier if she had change for a five dollar bill she said no we cannot give any change out to customers I told her I've been using room area for years with my dogs and one of the ladies two months ago said I should pay the girls cash because they get a percentage taken out of their tip so the last two times after years of going I use cash because I never knew they did this to the girls and grooming therefore today I picked up my dog one to the service Connor and asked her to break up a five dollar bill the register lady Sandy really sat in front of other customers and embarrassed me we cannot do this you need to go to grooming they may have it exclamation herb and coming here for years and told her she was very loud and rude to me about breaking the five dollar bill there if I went over the grooming checked out ask the associate to break the five dollar bill and she did I will never buy or purchase any items from the store again after using them for years after the Waze Sandy treated me In front of other customers I will continue to use their grooming department because they are exceptionally great I would never recommend the store to my friends and family ever except for grooming after my experience with Sandy!!!!! read more

I have two dogs Shizu/poddle mix. And miniature schnauzer both are puppies I took my min schnauzer hear on the 10th cost 40 bucks for luxury shampoo puppy pkg which is sopposed to include ear cleaning potty areas trimmed paws and eyes clean and trimmed. I added nail file which is additional 10 dollars plus luxury shampoo 10 dollars more. When I got my pup Home his ears were not clean potty area just his but was shaved but his nails weren't filed his paws were not clean up trimmed and he basically was just brushed out and bathed for 47 dollars. I call them let them know what happened they took him in today I had to have my husband and son pick him up his nails are still not filed his paws were only trimmed on like his front paws not back and it looks like they brushed him out and used dry shampoo his eyes he cannot see cause she didn't clean up his eye area. Either. I don't believe this so I basically paid 60 bucks for a bath and a dry shampoo bath at that and a really bad brush out that I could have done better myself. I'm really disappointed I even spoke to the mgmt she say said I'm sorry I really don't know what to tell you. I'm like do you guys just hire random people to groom dogs is there like regulation for dog grooming he said yes they are trained but I don't believe it do not take your dog especially puppies here every time he comes home he's horrified and scared do not take your dog here read more

I recently visited a Petco near me to buy feeder insects and I noticed they had 3 very thin ball pythons in ONE ENCLOSURE. I was horrified that they kept them all together. Not only will they most likely eat each other or hurt each other but it will also stress them out a lot. read more

Petco does amazing work with shelters allowing the dogs and cats to come to Petco to be seen and not stuck in a shelter where many adopters won't go. One major improvements would be 2 room locations, one for for cats instead of a small crate and other to allow the dogs to be out of a crate so they could have more social interaction with potential adopters . Not a place for cat grooming! I took my domestic long hair/Persian mix cat there for a bath and 'lion cut' because I was told by Petco that the woman that does the dog grooming was also a specialist with cats (this was my first time doing a haircut for my cat). After speaking with the 'specialist' she said it would cost $75 for a bath a cut (I figured for that much money she must be good). After dropping my cat off she said it would be about 4 hrs until I can pick him up. After picking him up I just wanted the poor little guy home but once I took him home I saw what a terrible job they did. Apparently they used a shaver that left trimmer tracks all over his body. And I told her that I wanted a 'lion cut' so that he would have a puffy mane and puffy tail tip. The hair on his neck was all choppily shaved off- they didn't even bother to make it symmetrical plus they completely removed all the hair from his tail. I was horribly disappointed. I would have given it 1 star except I have to give the store credit for having friendly staff. I do still shop here- I just will never ever utilize their grooming services again. read more

Avoid their Vetco services like the plague. I brought my cat there for vaccinations since I was recommended by the adoption agency.. Never again. First off Vetco has a very bad schedule. They come like once a weekend for 3 hours. When i got there there was a line of about 20 people. The Vetco department opens at 9am, i was there 8:50am. One thing to keep in mind most of those people were with dogs so lots of big dogs running around in a tight place. There was another person with a cat that almost got bitten when another persons dog tried to get in the carrier so that's something to keep in mind. Not everyone knows how to train their dog right. Anyways, after an hour wait i finally got to go in. My kitten needed a vaccination however I wanted to confirm they were giving them the right ones and what else it needed. The dr was no help. He stuck the needle in my kitten, and that was it. No communication and completely ignored what i asked and rushed in the next person. The prices are good especially with the coupons provided by the adoption agency but after seeing how it is, i'd rather pay the extra 10 bucks at my vet. Ever been to the DMV where the staff looks angry and just wants to get done with their day? Yeah same thing. read more

STAY AWAY FROM PETCO ON 83!!!! We bought fish from there they didn't even last a week and I can't find the receipt so we called corporate and corporate said the store doesn't have to honor the transaction detail they they provide. The lady called the store and the manager said we bought too many fish but they advised us on what to buy and based on that we bought fish they manager just doesn't want to lose money or make her store have an exchange. Before we bought the original 3 fish we had our water tested there and it was fine then we added 6 more fish in a 40 gallon tank and all the fish died after the new fish were added AND the manager wouldn't allow a water test because we said the fish died. The manager will not stand behind the animals or products sold at this store and went as far as not being honest when corporate called and talked to her and how could she remember our particular sale when1,000s of people go thru there weekly. She's a liar and not looking out for her loyal customers and petco corporate is not any better if they can not even help a loyal customer out. DO NOT BUY FISH AT THIS STORE read more

On their website they advertise that if you can't home a pet any longer they will take them in and find them a new home. However no where on their website does it say you need to provide a cage for the pet. When we went in they told us we had to buy a cage and since the cage didn't come with a water filter we had to buy that additionally. This is very uncalled for. We told them we can afford to take care of it anymore and we told them we would have to let her ok and they were ok with they. Now we would never do this, but the fact that they didn't care was shocking. I will no longer be going to this location anymore. They are awful and rude. read more

I have a 6 pound ,4 month old female Cavapoo named Ellie. Yesterday 9/8/16 I took her for her first grooming session. WOW did Isabelle in the Grooming Department exceed my expectations! Isabelle welcomed us at the desk and immediate made me feel welcomed and comfortable. She explained everything in detail to me and said she will take great care of my Ellie. I received a call that Ellie was ready to be picked up and anxiously drove there waiting to see how she turned out. She had pink bows in her hair, soft and smelled like flowers. On top of that Ellie was kissing Isabelle thanking her too! We will definitely be back and asking for Isabelle!! read more

I asked where the dog items were located and they pointed to the sign very rudely with out guiding me directly. I found there staff extremely rude and feel that they treat animals with disrespect! My family and I have been going to this location for years. We even adopted one of our dogs at one of the adoption events. We spend anywhere from $70 to $80 there weekly. Last time we went the prices on the shelf was wrong, the girl checked and said we should have the discount. They called a manager, we waited about 20 minutes until manager Bob came up to the register. Incredibly rude and short temper. He refused to give the discount and said he was taking care of customers. As if we were not customer. We could not get a hold of anyone at corporate to inform them of this incident. From now on we will be taking our business else where. I would rather travel a further distance then be treated with disrespect. read more
