I started going to this location last year for grooming. I have three 50+ pound dogs and each appointment ends up costing several hundred dollars, and that's fine and understandable, but it is an issue when they can't handle their scheduling. It's not right to have the customer make an appointment weeks ahead of time only for them to cancel an hour beforehand, or change the appointment with less than a day's notice. This has happened on several occasions and today was the last straw. Customer is not the priority here. Look elsewhere for grooming services. Two stars because the haircuts were good. read more

He was rude , didn't help me look online and called his manager who was rude as well. Don't know what the deal is with this store. I asked them nicely a few times to try to accommodate me even if it meant coming back another day or time before Thanksgiving and they repeatedly told me that it was not going to happen and then I shouldn't have been late. This was after me being courteous enough to reschedule for them when they called me a few weeks ago and said that they were overbooked on my original date i was scheduled for - so I was nice enough to reschedule for them and change my day off for them. Then because I showed up 11 minutes late ( to allow my dog to poop outside the store rather than inside the store) they turned me away in a VERY rude and nasty manner - because THEY are overbooked. Sounds like a time management problem on their end, not mine. They were disgraceful. The girl at the computer was awful and the groomer ANNA was disgusting. They told me that they would not see my dog ever again because I was arguing with them. Stay away from them. Took both my dogs here for their annual vaccinations 4 weeks ago, as I have been using vetco for a few years now and never had an issue. One of my dogs is harder to handle than the other. The crew here 4 weeks ago allowed me to assist them to ensure my dog was receiving the vaccination properly. Today I return for a booster shot for both dogs. I let them know the one is harder to handle and how I assisted last time. They refused to let me assist and told me they refused to provide the service for him since they can't put a muzzle on him. They want me to see a full service vet. They now noted my account to refuse to service my dog at any vetco/petco. I called customer service and they will not assist either. I will never step foot in a petco again. This was extremely rude and wrong to provide a service that requires a booster shot and now refuse to finish the process. How can you allow the owner to assist one time and then not allow to assist another?!? The staff at the register and managers are not included on this since they were just as shocked as I was. I've been to this Petco three times now. Every visit included the most friendly and knowledgeable staff. What I have been must impressed by is the Customer Service level at this Petco. I have always been asked if I needed help and the associate walked around with me, until I found what I was looking for. Upon my last visit, I signed up for the Petco Perks Card, which came with a booklet of coupons for future use. The associate ringing up my order knew there was a coupon in the booklet for what I was purchasing. She thumbed threw the booklet found the coupon and put it towards my order. Now that is proactive customer service and saving me a few bucks in the process. I recently called the store looking for an item on their website. The customer service associate walked around the store with the phone in hand looking for the item. Unfortunately, it's not something they keep in stock at the store. I told him I would go ahead and order it on-line. He recommended that if I came into the store to order it, it would save me shipping costs. Again, proactive customer service. This week I took my 14 year old dog, Bubbles, here since other places around me do not groom senior dogs. Making the appointment over the phone was a very simple process, and they gave her an appointment within the week. When we got there I expressed to the groomer, Hannah, Bubble's age and that this is her first professional grooming experience at a shop. I also addressed concerns I had regarding an uneven spot of fur on her foot. We went over length and style options for the cut, which were very thorough. Hannah was super considerate and made Bubbles very comfortable, showering her with compliments upon arrival. Communication was great, as I received a 25 minute heads up call when Bubbles was almost ready. Once I got there, she brought Bubbles out and she looked perfect! Her hair was cut just how I had asked and the uneven spot of fur on her foot was blended seamlessly. She smelled great and was super soft! Her teeth were also brushed, nails were trimmed, and paws were moisturized. She also received an adorable little flower clip in her hair. Bubbles was smiling nonstop after her haircut and got a new load of confidence! She left the store being complimented some more and went home in great spirits. We are so pleased with Bubble's experience here and will definitely be bringing her back to Hannah for her next haircut! read more

If I could give this service zero stars, I would give negative 12. I don't know what they were doing to my dog for over 3 hours, but the job was not done. It looked like my pup was trimmed really crooked while I was paying at the register. The worst part is they make you pay before you see your dog. I've made an appointment to trim my dog's nails at the grooming salon at this East Windsor location. Once I arrived there after driving more than ten miles, I was told that they cannot trim nails on my dog due to his age and heart condition. This store was very disappointing! Very small store! There was no space to even to walk in the aisles, and the store was really not clean at all. A nice addition to vacant pet worthy stores in the area. Decent size packed with alot of pet needs. Friendly staff but too soon to be knowledgeable in items stocked yet...they offer pet grooming and vaccinations at a discount. Clean store and very staffed. I couldn't wait to go to get my furry baby's dog food, unfortunately they didn't have what I was looking for. They had the brand but not breed specific item, when I asked if they could order it, associate was clueless. Strike number one. Number two bought something I was looking for, not exactly but similar. Used my coupon. When I brought it home to put it together it was broken. So now I have to go back and return it. I was hoping my furry baby could use it today but I guess that's not an option. So I will have to go online and get what I want cheaper even with my coupon. So was hoping this store would be a godsend but it turns out it's just another let down. Horrible Petco. They do not know how to simply cut a dogs nails. I take my dog to the professional groomer, the vet, and even my sister in law to cut our dogs nails. All of which, never have a hard time, and get the job done. When I bring my dog here, it's a disaster, and they tell me that my dog doesn't know how to behave. I simply go to petco because it's easy and convenient, but obviously they do not know what they are doing. I would not recommend bringing your dog here, pay the extra $$ to get your dogs services done correctly. read more

These groomers are a joke. They never answer the phone. They are understaffed and don't work the hours posted online and on the doors. Online appointments are never available. And if your dog isn't perfect in every way they give you a hard time. Can't even trim my dogs nails without a mouth full of "oh we will try and see how it goes" My dog hates having his paws touched! Idk why, we absolutely never hurt him while trying. He is very friendly and always happy otherwise. And they are supposed to be professionals, I needed help and they are useless! Let me start by saying, this review is for the grooming area only. Shay is FANTASTIC. She is amazing at what she does! Perfect cut every time, I've never had a complaint about any of the cuts my doodle has gotten from Shay. I don't let ANYONE besides Shay groom my dog after a bad experience previously. Shay is incredible and pays such attention to the little details. She treats my puppy like her own and does an awesome job. Shay deserves 5 stars for her great work!!!! With that being said, as far as customer service in the store itself (excluding grooming), I haven't been so thrilled, which is why I took away a star. The staff did a great job on the nail trimming. However, we paid to use the self service dog wash and it was one of the most disgusting things I've seen. We ended up requesting our money back and went elsewhere. Clean towels were stacked on the floor next to a wet and dirty pile of used ones. All 3 stalls were loaded with hair and white colored standing water. There was hair everywhere and just overall very dirty. It's a shame since it's a nice store with a great staff. Just a quick wipe down and cleaning after each wash would be great. read more

I was very unhappy with the groomer. She had never groomed my dog before. I only wanted a groom and she charged me for teeth brushing which I never said I wanted. Plus I was charged extra for mattes that my dog did not have. I had combed her hair before I even brought her there. Plus she did not interact with my dog really at all. read more

I had a horrible experience for my first time coming here. I went to have my dog groomed and, when I dropped her off they stated it would be a 2-3 hr long appointment. Since i hadn't gotten a call, 4hours and 30 minutes later, i went back to the store. When walking in I see the groomer just plaacing my dog on the stand and starting to cut my dogs hair. It was already a longer time than they stated, but when I looked through the window, she was more concerned about her conversation and laughing with her co workers, than actually cutting my dogs hair. After seeing that, I asked how much longer it would be, to someone at the front desk. They said "I don't know , let me check". They asked her and she said 10-15 minutes. 15 minutes later, still not done and still just laughing and conversing with the coworkers, instead of actually cutting my dogs hair. Again I went to ask " how long is it going to be, because I have work in a little bit". They went to ask and she stated 5 to 10 minutes. Finally 15 minutes later she comes out acting like it's ok to take 5 hours to groom a small little dog. I asked her why it took longer than the 2-3 hours. She stated that she took a puppy ahead of my dog( mind you I made an appointment) and since it was the first time for the puppy , she fell behind. I understand things happen, but why not let the customer know the situation at the door, so they can decide wether they want to stay or not, or call and let the customer know it will be longer than anticipated. Last night stopped into Petco for the second time and since we are new pet owners the staff gave us personal service which helped us buy the correct products. The first visit we bought a small cat tree for our Baby because he was so little went up to pay and the cashier immediately brought to my attention that there was a tiny red spot on the back and because of this he was giving me 15% off I was blown away. Last night I met Steve the manager who walked around w us and helped me shop and I wanted to upgrade my cat tree because he has grown and my boyfriend was not into that I picked out a 80 dollar tree and Steve gave us half off and helped w costumes and food we were buying. He has a huge smile and amazing customer service. It's that kind of manager that loves his job and I will only shop there from now on.!i left feeling so good.
