It was holiday time so I asked to reschedule immediately and was told there were no appointments, I went to the car and was able to schedule an appointment (go figure). I brought my dog back and Kenzie did a horrible cut, my 2 yr old granddaughter could have done a better job. I took him back up there and got a refund. I tried to schedule a bath a month later asking that Kenzie not work on him and was told that because I was not satisfied that previous time, they no longer would allow me to get any services. I used copper sulfate for the entire tank since the fish from Petco had ich on them. My catfish I purchased started sprouting leeches, and I had never seen those things before. When the leeches dropped off after around a week, leaving huge holes, my poor catfish died. I did not notice them before using the copper sulfate. Just caution in buying fish from Petco. What I am seeing is not Petco, rather the suppliers are mass producing fish, like the guppies, that are no longer strong specimens. We had so many guppies growing up, and these are SO Different, they now always seem to be weak from any Pet Store! Had 4 of the weakling guppies die, while I have 6 Neons that are fine. read more

BUFORD, GA PETCO - GROOMING DEPARTMENT - Have enjoyed Petco's grooming service for years in California. Recently moved to Georgia and wanted to resume grooming at a the BUFORD, GA Petco. The Manager of the Buford, GA store, MiCHELLE ARNOLD was very rude and inappropriate, unlike any Petco employee I'd ever experienced. She complained about other petco employees to me, took a lot of my time on the phone after I scheduled the grooming appointment, then took another 15 minutes of my time when I dropped off my little guy. Upon picking him up, he wasn't ferminated, his teeth weren't cleaned and his nails were hardly trimmed. It was the worst grooming he'd ever had. I was kind and intended to simply leave... She was very loud toward me so the entire store could hear - that he was too anxious for grooming, that his teeth couldn't be cleaned, essentially that I was a bad dog owner. I was very embarrassed. My dog is anxious however he is very docile and we've had wonderful experiences at the Petco grooming where we used to live. She didn't offer to refund any of the grooming fee. 2 months later I attempt to schedule at another Petco in another local area and she had blocked my account from scheduling online (per the manager at the other Petco store)! When going through the process on the phone to get her groomed the staff was beyond kind and definitely helped put some ease in everyone's minds After picking up Callie, her coat looked stunning and she smelled wonderful. Petco Mall of Georgia Grooming is the ABSOLUTE WORST GROOMER I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! Considering I have been a dog owner with multiple dogs at any given time for over 50 years that is a really bad distinction! The current staff is totally incompetent and RUDE! I had used this facility since 2015. There was time I would have rated them a 5 but now I only gave them a 1 because I can't go any lower! They had been declining in quality of service and care for a couple of years but today they found the bottom. We currently have 3 rescue dogs and go to the groomers at least 9 times a year. Shocked by how I was just treated at Petco this morning, on Apple Maps it appeared to open at 8. Trying to get supplies for my sick dog before I go to work, I walked towards the door by it didn't open. I started to turn around, but a girl came to open for me. Without asking any questions or saying anything she walked away, I assumed it was they forgot set it to open. Shopped for 10 minutes, went to checkout aisle with light on, by this time I had passed other employees who also never said anything was wrong with me being in the store. Standing at the checkout line what I can assume was a manager came out and said in a forceful tone if he could help me. I started to say I wanted to check out before he began shouting at me. I tried to explain on Apple Maps said it was open from 8, but he was acting irrational. I obviously was there just to get food and medicine for my dog. This store was the most convenient for me being less than a mile from my home, I now choose to drive further to not deal with the unhinged employees at this store. RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I have filed an official complaint that is currently under investigation. After being a loyal customer of Petco Grooming for over a year, I just had the worst customer experience ever! My dog was scheduled for a 9am appt on Tuesday. I bought her in early (8:18am) due to an important work interview that was rescheduled for 9. The grooming manager came out and stated that my groomer wasn't there and "we can't hold your dog all day, that's not what we do". I stated that I would reschedule and left. I called later that morning to reschedule and spoke directly with Abbegail who offered an opening on Thursday at 11. I stated "I can't arrive until 11:15 due to work". She stated "that's fine, I'll see you then". Fast forward to Thursday at 11:15 on the dot, I walked in. I stood at the counter for 3 minutes while the groomers just watched me through the glass. Then out walked Abbegail with an aggressive facial expression. I said "good morning". She replied in a very loud voice...."we had you scheduled for 11, and I called you. I responded, I told you that I couldn't make it until 11:15 and I didn't receive a call, I was driving. She went on to state in a very belittling tone as her voice raised , "You need to answer the phone when I call you". I was shocked and so caught off guard that I was confused. I've never been spoken to in this manner. I stated again, I did not receive a call. After which she responded "You forwarded my call to voicemail". I repeated, I did not receive a call, I was driving. After taking out the phone and showing her, she realized that she called the incorrect number. She bypassed my cell phone number and called my husband who is a teacher and unable to take calls during instruction. She walked away and returned with the grooming manager just as I was calling the store's Asst. Manager to request the process of filing a customer service complaint. The Asst. Manager apologized for the rude treatment and attempted to rectify by obtaining another appointment. The grooming manager stated to the Asst. Manager, "she doesn't want to groom her dog" and we are booked with no other appointments today". I thanked the Asst. Manager for being kind and for her attempt. At that time, I felt totally uncomfortable leaving my poor dog who by now was sitting with her tail between her legs. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also left me feeling humiliated, disrespected and unwelcome by Petco. If I felt that way as a human, I cannot imagine how my sweet puppy would be treated. Lastly, I am a Senior Director over a team of 50+ people. I understand that sometimes the forward facing employees exemplify behaviors that are not aligned with company values and standards. I will allow time and grace for Petco to complete their investigation and take the steps necessary to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. read more

I started using this location for my aquarium. They had a better selection if live plants at a good price. They also are one of the few stores in the area that has a nice selection of plant care products. Marley & Mary Ellen are so helpful and knowledgeable about the fish. I'm really enjoying my neon rainbows and the two julii corys were a wonderful suggestion :) I recently got a new pup and have been enjoying puppy play group in store since I'd had such a positive experience. Plus the store I had frequented for my other dogs and pet needs didn't offer. They have a trainer (AJ) supervise. He helps with interactions, reminding us not to freak at puppy play and there are typically a few playful pups. Michelle did an awesome job for my pups 1st bath, face/ear/nail trim! She also gave me some tips which I hope will make it easier the next time around. read more

Petco Buford is located right across from the Mall and next to Waffle House. We take our two little chihuahuas Speedy and Sassy here all the time for grooming. Sabrina treats them like she would her own. My little one always feels nervous but as soon as she is in Sabrina's arms, she feels comforted and taken care. They always feel so soft and they smell good all the time. I also love to shop inside their store. Everyone who worked at this store just feels so welcoming and positive. I take my yorkie here annually for the vaccination. Vets here are very friendly and the waiting line isn't bad at all. The price for the vaccinations are very economical at $79 which includes the rabies vaccination. Had used their grooming service once. At $56, included full bath, full trim, nail trim, and teeth cleaning. Took them 2 1/2 hours. As for the products and items for sale, price is too high. So, today Petco had an event for a free bag of dog/cat food. I went and picked up a bag at one location without a problem! When I realized I didn't get the small breed kibble, I decided to stop at this location and exchange for small breed. Well the "manager" said she couldn't exchange it because she didn't have the same coupon. She asked me questions as if I wasn't privy to the event or didn't get it like I stated although I presented my receipt. I swear customer service these days is non existent. I make a special trip to Petco for dog treats because of the bulk selection they have over other stores. Their prices on most items are fairly close to Petsmart's and their p.a.l.s. card program offers some savings too. My biggest complaint is that the Lawrenceville location closed so I have to drive out of my way to either Buford or Duluth. I give more of my business to Petsmart since it's right down the street; If only they sold these teddy bear treats my dogs love. :-/ read more

My mother in law took her perfectly healthy senior shitzu to this place for grooming service. Never got a straight answer on what happened from them & it was just to expensive to pursue a medical investigation with our vet but from the moment she came home we all knew something was wrong. The dog was yelping & hobbling around the house, a large dark coloration surfaced around her abdomen, she refused to eat... 48 hours later my 5 year old ran to us crying saying the dog was panting & not moving. I ran downstairs to check on her & long story short we all watched her die before us in her bed. Like I said we were never able to get evidence but highly suspect some form of abuse. As he walked into the doors of glory he was clueless, he had no idea the damage that would be done to his looks and glory between those hollow walls. He turned from a fluffy teddy bear to a mole rat. Just want to give Ashley in grooming another gold star! My cat, Sasha, had medium length fur that would stick straight up. I found Ashley when I was looking around for another groomer. Ashley did an AMAZING job with Sasha! There were never any "grooming lines" in her fur, and every part blended smoothly with the next. She would give Sasha the cutest little lion cut, all the way down to a perfect little "poof" at the end of her tail! Sasha loved Ashley and would try to rub her face on the clippers. I agree with the other person... Ashley has a genuine love for animals. Unfortunately, my Sasha was 15 years old, and it was her time to go to rainbow bridge two months ago. Employee name "La Vella" was cashier at register. She just basically ignored my presence at check out because she was busy talking to someone look like her co-worker or friends. I tried to hand out my pal member's card to her first , she did not take the card and continued chatting and giggling with that person. I was just invisible being to her. I patiently reminded her third time and said "here is pal card", She finally responded with rude attitude and voice that sounds like she got mad because her chitchat was interrupted, she did not even bother to looking at me all. What made me upset most was she greeted next customer who happened to be caucasian woman with full of smile and kind voice, she took care of that customer immediately without any hesitation. Apparently she did treat the customers in different manner, Being Asian American, I felt direct race discrimination for the first time in my life, A shocking and wrongful incident... my wife was with me at the time, she also felt it same way. After returned from petco, I called my colleague explained the situation and asked if I am being overreacting, they replied that they would inform the manager about what just happened or contact headquarter directly. Petco should not handle this kind of delicate matters lightly, they should train and educate their employees harder so that no one ever should be treated this way again. read more

Grooming services. I took my two dogs there for the first time and after I took them home I realized that one of the nails hadn't been trimmed. I took my dog back the next day and the groomer had "left for the day." This was 4:45 on a Friday and their hours indicated that grooming services should have still been available. My friends and I came here to buy fishes. First the salesman (his name was Chris and he was bald and probably a virgin) was sarcastic in his responses to our serious questions. He then judge us on our age and thought we would not take care of the fish and refused to sale them to us. Then lied to is about the prices of items in the store.
