I've been taking my dog here regularly for at least 18 months and have never had a bad experience. Danny at the front desk has got to be one of the nicest guys ever and my little guy always looks super handsome when I pick him up., and he's never stressed or mad at me. This place does not keep your dog all day like a lot of places (though I wouldn't be surprised if they were willing to if needed.) They give you a time slot to drop off and call you as soon as they are finished. It's never been more than about 3 hours for my dog. This place is a gem!! You will not be disappointed. read more

I have two large dogs (mastiffs) and often have trouble boarding them but the folks at Barking Lot take great care of them when I have to be out of town. They get plenty of exercise and are petted and loved on while I'm away. I would recommend this business to anyone who needs a reliable, clean, and well run place to board your dogs. read more

I love this place. They are always friendly and professional and give my schnauzer a great cut. I had a schnauzer several years ago and the place I used always nicked him. I have never seen a nick on Tucker! My son was late picking him up one day and when he got there, Tucker was sitting on Sheila's lap while she worked. My name is Danny and I'm co-owner of Barking Lot Pet Grooming Salon in Buford, GA. Regarding Lou H.'s 06/22/17 comment, please note that we can only give price ranges or ballpark estimates when someone calls and describes their pet over the phone. Upon arrival, a fixed price is quoted based on the physical inspection of the pet as well as the type of cut desired. When a person books an appointment, we note all the particulars including the price range estimate. Our quote was accurate and it appears that Lou was simply trying to get a lower fee by simply not telling the truth about her pet. Although rare, some people try this tactic. Sheila is my wife and co-owner. We use and view the same appointment book so there is no way that there could have been a "misunderstanding" about price quotes. Once a quote is given to a customer over the phone, we make sure to list the quote on our appointment book. This way, there is no "misunderstanding". I resent Lou's allegation that I lied about the fee. I never lied and will never lie. Also, I was not rude ! By the way, she was happy with the cut when she picked up her pet. We've been in business for over fourteen years. No business stays in business if it lies to its' customers. Lou is simply unhappy that she did not receive a lower fee than what was quoted. We love our business and our customers. The majority of our reviews are positive and for that we are grateful. No matter the business, there are some people, like Lou, that you simply cannot please. I do forgive Lou for not telling the truth when she called to book her appointment and I do forgive her for a review that is not warranted or justified. read more

I'm very impressed with the service and professionalism of this establishment. I have a very big dog but it was no problem at all for them. My dog was very well taken care of and smelled so good and very clean after they were done with him. It's first class service all the way. Had my dog groomed here for the first time this week. Good value for the service & did a super job. They are all very nice, professional and treated my pooch like the little prince that he is :-). On a side note, used to take my dog to PetSmart in Flowery Branch & every time I picked him up he was having a violent allergic reaction to something in their shop. Drooling & slinging spit all over the place. Made for a messy ride home & had to give him some Benadryl afterwards. This was not a problem @ the Barking Lot! When I called I was armed with favorable yelp reviews and close proximity in their favor. On the phone Sheila volunteered when asked that standard charges for a 30 pound dog ran $35 to $55.They were described as cheaper on yelp reviews. When I got there a man stated he had quoted $65. For proof he showed me notes in his book. A) I never talked to a man and B) when I suggested he talk to Sheila he was rude and said he had. I won't go back as I do not like being lied to or being made to feel like it was my fault I misunderstood. I misunderstood nothing. The job was poor too as the fur on one side of my dogs face is an inch and a half longer than the other. And his nails were not cut. Won't go back. read more

I've been going there for about a year and just love how well they take care of my dogs and they do a great job bathing and shaving them. We love the Barking Lot. We have two shih tzus who go for "Puppy Cuts" about every 3 months. The Barking Lot always takes them on short notice and they do a great job. One of our dogs is very anxious and they are expecially sweet and patient with him. They look and smell so good when they come home! We don't have them groomed anywhere else. read more

Took my Shih Tzu there recently and was extremely pleased. My dog can sometimes be hard to handle but they said he did great and he looked wonderful. The folks there are very nice and their fees were a lot less than what Petsmart has been charging me for the last few years. I won't be going back to Petsmart. read more

I normally do not do reviews... but in this instance, I have to. I brought my Shitzu in for a cut and to get her nails cut. The first visit went ok... they did an ok job...I wasn't overly impressed with the cut. I decided to give them another shot. The second visit was a disaster. When I went to pick her up, I could tell that she was visibly shaken. I brought her home and then noticed that she had a huge gash on her hind leg from the clippers. It was large enough that I had to bring her to the vet to get checked out... literally the size of a fingertip. So, I called the vet and first spoke to the female owner. She said that they would look into it. A couple of days went by, I called back and spoke to the male owner (her husband) ... and he also said would look into it. Still nothing back for 3 days until I called back. I told them I had to spend another $150 to bring her to the vet due to their grooming mishap. They didn't even give a sincere apology. No offer for a free groom to give them another chance, no offer to help cover the costs of the vet bill, no mention that they would do anything. Had they even offered, it would have been ok and I would have given them another chance, as I understand mistakes happen. They had numerous opportunities to "fix" the problem and turn the negative into a positive, but did nothing. Would not recommend. read more
