Today I went for my scheduled visit for my dog to be met with an attitude and seemingly racist behavior from someone name yulia (or something like that) was rude and refused to service my dog. This petco is great, I shop for my cats and my dog. My dog midnight loves all the ladies at the groomer. Lauren did a great job this last time. All the ladies on the department side are always nice and helpful. Sometimes the lines get backed up but they cant help they only have two registers. Over all a good store. read more

My dog is a GIANT Schnauzer and weighs over 100 lbs. He thinks he is a mini poodle and doesn't realize how big he is. He is 4 years old and has been taken to breeder/groomers, High End Dog show groomers and no one could handle him. Some even wanted to sedate him. Regina is a "saint", she was able to not only groom and clean him, but she has done it for his past 3 cuts. He needs a strong hand and alot of love, he can tell if you are not sincere. He loves her. Every time we come in the staff is very welcoming. However, the area that you have to come in to, is a very narrow long walkway and only a couple dogs can fit at a time ... "If they are GIANT like mine" But the small ones you can stack a dozen just fine. Its easy to just go on the other side in the shopping area and they can call you through there. It was just an overall wonderful experience ... we will continue to go. And you can imagine with my dogs size, we easily pay over 100 dollars every time. (But that's anywhere ... its just the price for a big dog.) By the way 5 stars up there only says great BUT ... The experience and quality were superior. I took my dog to be groomed here for a year and a half. I spent over $150 each time for my large breed dog. She hated going there and tried to leave each time. I should have listened to the dog but thought she was just being fussy. I was paying $28 extra for the add on package each time and gave a tip every time. I almost never got the bandana. But what got me mad was twice they did NOT clip her nails! It made me wonder what else they didn't do that I PAID for. I take her to a new place now that is 30% cheaper and better! And best of all, they take only 2 hours to groom her not 5! She doesn't have to sit in a cage and cry waiting for me! That's why she hated it so much!!! No dog should have to sit at a groomers that long! They overbook! If you love your dog, don't go to PetCo Grooming! read more

Every can of cat food is rancid. Makes my cats sick both ends. Now, they sniff first, and I take it back in opened cans. Any brand is trucked across several states in non refrigerated trucks in this ungodly southern heat. Then, "sometimes " they don't get to unload it, as soon as it arrives, as the clerk stated. Great, they give refunds, but my cats are hungry. Called corporate Applaws and they shipped food my cats never had and this store doesn't carry, wtf. Petco doesn't listen, Applaws either and they don't care, neither the store or corporate or the food supplier. read more

I absolutely adore my pets and I've been "blessed" with one that has a rare, incurable genetic predisposition towards bladder stones. If that weren't bad enough, he is prone to the rarest type of stone that is often deadly, impassable and always needs surgical intervention. We have kept him stone-free for several years by using a prescription diet food. Even through the pandemic, this location was able to carry his food when we needed it. They allowed me to call a few days prior to us running out and they'd have it waiting for me at the store. That kind of service is to be celebrated and acknowledged. I highly recommend Petco for all of your pets needs. They actually care and go the extra mile to make taking care of our beloved pets that much easier and less stressful. read more

We took our 2 babies to have shampoos, deshedding and teeth brushed. They were ok our so we thought until the evening. They were itching incessantly. Never before in their 7 and 10 years respectfully have they had any skin or itching issues. We bought anti itch spray. As I was applying it, I saw how red and irritated their mouths were a well. IDK what happened there or why they have had such horrible reactions but I will never bring my dogs there again. read more

I'm very disappointed in how they take care of their reptiles. They had a ball python with stuck eye caps that was upset and dying then all they did was poke at it and say, 'Its alive'. I went over to look at more reptiles and one of their crested geckos eyes were not only sunken in but he was emaciated. I have never seen that many sick reptiles in one pet store before, and I do not recommend getting any reptiles here or else you will have some very expensive vet bills. read more

Simone was such an awesome trainer with our high energy Aussie retriever puppy I can't even explain how great training in her class was for us. We knew some training stuff but Simone had so much to teach us. She told us on our first class that one day we would be able to leave a cheeseburger on the table and come back and the cheeseburger would still be there...this weekend we had a family party with 12 people and a table full of food and not once did our pup even try to take food. He was socialized and wonderfully behaved. it's been a long year and a half and hard work with him but with Simone's guidance he's reaching the wonderful dog we knew he would be! thank you! read more

The staff is very friendly, they have no problem helping a customer find any items. We had a horrible encounter with Petco grooming in Brooksville, FL. We have a golden doodle who is curly and lightly matted on his stomach. As soon as we walked in the atmosphere was unwelcoming and unkind. This was my first time and my dogs first time at this facility and I will never go back again.You could sense the staff was upset that I walked in with a fluffy dog that they would need to spend time cutting. Mary was the groomer I was assigned. When assessing our dog, she was pulling on our dogs' collar and fur, and he was yelping in front of me in pain. Can't imagine what would have happened if I left him in her hands without my supervision. Mary said to me that she could tell "He wouldn't behave on the table," even though he is a one year old and naturally energetic, sweet dog. She then dared to tell me that the curly hair (which I brush every week) on his back was "matted," and the only option was to cut him all the way to his skin, after I clearly pointed out no matting and stated how I wanted a trim. I think this staff was discouraged with my long-haired dog and didn't want to put the time and effort into the job. I will inform everyone and all of my friends never to go here. read more

Very clean, compared to other pet stores I've been to. Not much for a variety of pets though. The fish selection is one of the best I've seen and was considering an aquarium. However, to get someones attention is difficult. I asked this one person and his response was, "I just clean" - well that's good! But I never was directed to someone who could help me.
