I normally don't write reviews for a business. However, when a business goes out of their way to…read moremake the experience special, I am willing to let others know about this business. We are snowbirds in St Augustine for 3 months from Wisconsin. We had heard that Happy Paws Pet Grooming and Rita were absolute the Best Groomer in St Augustine. I agree that Rita is the Best Groomer in St Augustine. We have a mini schnauzer. Maddie is her name. She is almost 11 years old and needs a grooming every 5 to 6 weeks. Not only was this grooming the best cut Maddie ever had, but the grooming experience was also the best. From the reviews it was known that Happy Paws Pet Grooming was very busy, and we may not be able to make an appointment. Well, Rita went out of her way to get Maddie in for a grooming, Take the chance and try to make an appointment, it is worth it. Several other reviews here thought this was their mini schnauzer best cut. I would agree with them. Upon arriving, the first thing Rita and her assistant did was to kneel down to Maddie's level and gave her some loving. Most times taking Maddie to a new groomer will cause Maddie to show her fear by shivering. This did not happen with Rita, Rita put Maddie on a bed, not in a dog crate, while we check in. Maddie was ready to pick up is 2 hours. When we came back to pick up Maddie, she was on the bed, not in crate. Thanks Rita, for making this a pleasant experience for Maddie and us. I can remember having another groomer in St Augustine taking over 6 hours to groom Maddie. We were expecting a call after 3 hours. The call never came. We finally went to the groomer's business only to find a shivering Maddie just getting her grooming started. This means that Maddie was in a crate for hours before her grooming. Thanks again Rita for Maddie's best mini schnauzer cut and making Maddie feel welcome and comfortable when we arrived. You put Maddie at ease and you also put us at ease.

Faux Paws is much bigger on the inside than it is on the outside!…read more Tucked on the side of a building with a fence on Saint George Street, Faux Paws is a little tricky to find the first time visiting. Thankfully, a dog was outside getting pets and we knew we were in the right spot. This is what every dog shop should be! Outside, there's a dog relief area, little gated play area, poop bags, and bowls of fresh water. Inside, you'll find three rooms filled with pet supplies. From car magnets announcing your love for your dog to delicious dog treats that look like cannolis, there's something for everyone here. You'll find leashes, collars, pet clothing, durable toys, and more! My only complaint...there's no Shiba Inu merchandise here! It's really hard to find our dog's breed at any pet shop, so hopefully they can add a few more breed-specific items to the shop. If they did have a Shiba Inu-something (socks, magnet, pants...anything!), we would have bought it. Other than not having a Shiba Inu related item, this store is fantastic!

I have never used them before. I took a lot of time to text him a very detailed explanation of my dog's specific needs with photos on Thursday morning. I kept it brief. He literally texted me back and just said, "Hello, this is Leandro" Hoping to persevere and arrange a grooming for my dog, I took a deep breath and explained: "Hello Leandro, I sent a detailed message yesterday regarding my dogs needs, and hadn't heard back. That is why I said hello with a question mark lol" I have had no reply, though they are open daily from 7:30 AM to 8 PM.

You can find anything you need for dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, hamsters, etc all under one roof, and everything is priced pretty well- especially if you join their free PetPerks program. The store is brand spanking new, and it looks great- very clean, well organized and stocked, and is a pet-friendly store to do all your shopping. Not only can you buy everything you need for your sidekick, but they also have a grooming station and a veterinarian inside the store, so it is literally a one-stop shop for anything pet related. The staff is friendly, and I enjoyed walking around checking out all the items. I could give it five stars, but the size of this store is somewhat disappointing- this is the smallest PetSmart I have ever visited. The layout is virtually similar to all other stores, and they definitely have everything you'd need for all types of pets, but it does seem to be a bit smaller and cramped than other stores I've been to. Still, it is very clean, easy to find what you're looking for, very well stocked, and everyone is friendly. A great place to shop if you're in the area, and I'd say definitely check it out if you haven't been yet.
