Mind you, she's been getting groomed her entire life by multiple different groomers. We get there, and they say it's $40, not a hair on this dog's head was touched. They didn't cut her nails until we asked, but still charged half the price for a bath. I've never had such a terrible experience with a groomer before, and I definitely will not be back here. They could've at least trimmed her sanitary areas and trimmed her up with scissors to be asked for half the price is totally unprofessional.

I can't say enough good things about this grooming place. Finding a groomer that doesn't use crates…read morewas really important to me, and this team truly delivers on that promise. My pup was able to stay in a calm, low-stress environment the entire time, which makes a noticeable difference. The quality of the grooming itself is outstanding--every detail is handled with care. The cut is always even, clean, and exactly what I ask for, and my dog comes back looking (and smelling) amazing every time. More importantly, my dog is relaxed and happy after each visit, which tells me everything I need to know about how they're treated. It's clear the staff genuinely care about the dogs, not just the end result. If you're looking for a place that prioritizes both high-quality grooming and a crate-free, compassionate experience, this is it.

My experience with this place has been extremely disappointing, and if it were possible, I would…read moregive this business a negative rating. The last straw came down today when I went to pick my dogs up and she had both my 40-pound Australian Shepard and my 15-pound Shih Tzu crammed into one cage together so small that they were on top of each other and could not move. This is not the first time that my dogs have been mishandled at this shop. My Australian Shepard has been repeatedly burned with the razor on his underside. The last time it happened it became infected, and I had to take him to the vet for antibiotics. Adding to the frustration, the owner is the most unfriendly person I have met in a long time. I cannot recall a single instance where she even said hello or smiled. What is even more disheartening is that she never once said thank you. When you drop your dogs off the only thing she says to you is "Same as usual?" This phrase suggests that there is at least some consistency with her service - but that couldn't be further from the truth. I have lost count of the number of times that she completely shaved off my Shih Tzu's mustache, and when I bring it to her attention, she doesn't even bother to apologize. Reading through her other reviews on Google I suspect that most of the reviews for this shop are from friends. I noticed one was actually from her daughter, who also works there. I would be leery if you rely on reviews to try this one out. Having entrusted eight dogs to different groomers over the past 25 years, I strongly recommend exploring other options. Find one that you can communicate with and that doesn't get mad at you for telling them how you want your dog groomed.

We have taken our golden doodle to this business for at least the last three years. Sadly, this…read morebusiness does not seem to want to follow specific instructions. We took our golden doodle to his place of business on Tuesday and asked that they give her a trim of about 1/2 inch off the current length of her coat, trim her nails, and make sure that they do not touch her tail. The reason we remind them not to touch her tail is because They have a history of shaving our dog down to the skin including the tail, where she now looks like a lion. (Golden doodles are part golden retriever, with long smooth hair, and a poodle, with somewhat curly sometimes kinky hair) Kinky, not matted. I've given the owner specific instructions not to touch the tail. But they have never called us when the make radical deviations. They just take unilateral action and basically scalp our dog ; when we have told them never to do that again. on three occasions this has happened including Yesterday. Each time the owners response is the hair was matted down to the skin we had to cut it all off. Sort of like going to the hospital for an ingrown toenail, and coming out missing a leg. In my opinion. I don't know exactly why they continue to do this. I know they have a rotating number of groomers and it just seems like there are one or two that insist on giving your pet the standard cut for the breed. Totally ignoring the owners instructions. Again just my opinion. It's also difficult to complain because you must pay in cash, and you must pay before they will bring your pet out for you to pick up. No ability to dispute a credit card fir instabce. if you like a seemingly haphazard result and don't really care about the instructions you give to your pets groomer. Then in my opinion this might be a place for you. But if you do can care about consistency and communication , if a vendor is going to deviate from those instructions, you might consider going someplace else. Just my opinion. I took this photo 10 minutes before we took the dog in for grooming. Her tail is not matted. Nor is her fur. Seems like they just wanted to turn out as many pets as they could in the day. In my opinion. And not take the time that it would take to do the job that we had asked them to do. Which is the same instructions we give them every time we go in there. Disregarding our long-standing instructions is not acceptable.

I truly dislike writing negative reviews, especially about a local business. But, Vanity Furs…read morecompletely let us down. We moved and I was so excited when I found a neighborhood groomer. When I initially called for the appointment, I asked how much we might anticipate spending for my dog's breed & weight. The person who answered (AJ) quoted the price I had normally paid for our boy. I happily booked an appointment. Then the day came when I dropped him off. When I returned for him that afternoon, I was told he had "a lot of matting," so it would be an additional $10. (Hm. Maybe. But we keep our boy's coat quite tidy.) In addition, I made sure to ask if his ears had been cleaned & his nails trimmed. AJ didn't give me a straight yes or no, but rather skirted around the question & said that our dog's nails "really weren't that long." Ok... I paid & took our dog home. When my husband arrived home is when we really looked him over. 1. A choppy overall haircut, with some sloppy patches of hair missing from his legs 2. Dirty, untrimmed ears--something I had specifically asked AJ about 3. No seasonal neck bandana (don't get me wrong here--not required, but we have always been treated with a cute takeaway bandana from our previous groomers My husband was furious & asked how much we had paid. I was embarrassed to say that we were actually charged extra for the apparent matting on our dog's legs. I phoned Vanity Furs the next day...3 separate times. I left a voicemail with the third call & briefly mentioned our dissatisfaction & requested a call back to rectify the situation. No call back that day. I tried again the following morning &, again, no answer. It was as if they were screening their calls. So I asked my husband to try from his phone. And when he did--alas!--Jonathan answered! When my husband asked about our dog's cut, he offered a somewhat better explanation about the matting, having to use a different tool, etc. and mentioned he wasn't "in the business to give bad haircuts." Jonathan offered no apology nor a desire to make it up to us at our next visit. My husband and I are simply disappointed with how we were treated at Vanity Furs. As a potential new consistent client, I'd have thought they would have wanted to go above and beyond to please us. But the combination of lack of communication (we needed a much better explanation about the choppy haircut right when I picked him up), not returning (and possibly screening) my phone calls afterwards and "forgetting" to tidy his ears (standard practice with any full groom) made for quite the negative experience.
