Michelle groomed my little Zoey's hair for over 15 years and when Michelle left another location and moved here - you can bet I didn't hesitate to follow her. She is truly amazing - patient, kind, and so VERY GOOD at what she does. This place also has a wide array of pet food, treats, and other various supplies. I have found that the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful when I'm looking for products. And, they also remember and recognize you and your pet(s) - even the ones that aren't yours that you show up with on occasion! Lastly, they are just dog people here! They have openly told me that it's totally okay to bring my pup here on those cold days when it's not safe outside - and to just walk her around the store for exercise - no purchase necessary. It's things like that that keep you coming back.

It was never an easy task to tackle alone. After about 4 years, I tragically hit the quick of one of her black nails. Fast forward to now 8-year-old, 65-lb Layla, who still won't let me near her with clippers. I've had to outsource the torturous task to her vet and groomers since that fateful day. Once she associates a place with nail trims, though, she resists entry and tries to find the nearest exit. The Dog Wash Etc. has proven to be a rare exception to this rule, which is a testament to the positive experiences we've had there. Evie skillfully handled and warmly gained Layla's trust during our first visit and again several weeks later (bonus: the trim kept Layla's pawdicure needs at bay much longer than usual) It doesn't hurt that the Pets on Point store has cookies (and a whole shop full of goodies) for a post-trim treat. Punch card rewards or not, Evie and the Dog Wash team have earned our loyalty. I am eager to try the actual dog washes next... although Layla is as enthusiastic about baths as she is about nail trims!

That being said, moving to Portland, I was very nervous to find a new groomer, but Port does a great job with her. They are caring, and they get grooming over with quickly and effectively. Her haircuts have never looked so good, and she comes home smelling fresh and clean. They genuinely run a sound family business, and I am glad to bring my dog here. One note--they book out months in advance. I have the next few appointments for my dog already scheduled. I recommend planning ahead!

I worried that she might leave one day after becoming the head groomer, and was lucky enough to get her to share her contact info with me. She made no comments about Mary Bee regarding services or her experiences. I was told to pay $100. Still didn't know what I was paying for!!!! No receipt. What happened to customer service, good and kind manners. What happened to thank you...nice to see you and a little more patience with customer!
