I have always loved Pet Supplies Plus. It seemed they were a cut above. This one in particular. But that all changed today. Owning a pet can be expensive. Especially one with its own set of problems. I make it to the store every other month. Always clean. Well stocked. I am sent a ton of promotional emails weekly. So many I normally take a screen shot of the coupons or offers to keep them handy. And discard the clutter of emails. Yesterday I was at the counter checking out and gave my wife's phone number to keep the points going as I am trained to do. When I presented coupon below (which I have done many times before) the cashier (who I also believe was the manager) asked where I got it. I said it was emailed to me. She asked if I had the email. I checked and it would have been from a few days ago so I didn't have THAT ONE. I did have many others. I showed her. She said but you don't have the one with the 30% off coupon. I need to see that it came from our store. I said they all come from your store. You are the only one we go to. She said she can try to look up another email to confirm. But it was my email I was showing her with emails FROM Pet Supplies Plus. Long story short, she wasn't going to give me the offer. I had stood there for almost 5 minutes dealing with this. I am 57 years old and not out to "rip off her store". She saw the other emails in my inbox but it mattered not, so I said forget it. I paid for it and left. Seething. Majorly because she made me feel foolish. Made me feel like I had to prove myself. For 30%. It wasn't cool. I will not go back in again. They have lost my business as I don't to engage with that employee ever again. The most disorganized place I've ever seen! Our poor dog rolled apparently where there had been skunk spray. First appt days ago, look at rabies its expired. OK they make an appointment for the next day. We beg our Vet to get him in for a Rabies and explain why. Take Max back, walk in and are told "We can't touch him for 48 hours after his rabies"..WHAT?!?! YOU MADE THE APPOINTMENT...OK 2 days later its raining out, walk Max in - "No one told us it was a skunk bath" and the same woman was there that we had talked to the first two times!! So they argued with my partner about the miscommunication (that rested solely on them and no one else!). Max comes homes smelling like the most disgusting old perfume (the skunk smelt better) and this poor dog, who never leaves our home has had enough. I called to let them know a.) This dog smells DISGUSTING, and b.) The underlying skunk smell is still there. "Heather" first goes into defense mode about miscommunication, which really angered me after all we, and this poor dog has been through this past week BECAUSE of them. I want the manager -who tells me after I let her know how we feel about this debacle, and still had the nerve to charge us $48, and she says to me "I run the store, you're talking to the right person", which continues in to "Put whatever you want on Yelp, we can take it down"! BEWARE OF THEM, THEY ARE WAY TO DISORGANIZED AND DON'T DELIVER, AND TRY AND COVER UP THIS POOR DOG WITH THIS DISGUSTING OLD PERFUME SMELL THAT MAKES ME WANT TO VOMIT. THE SKUNK SMELLED BETTER. customer service is horrible. paid for an order online and used a coupon, the order processed and went through. drove over 40 minutes away to pick up dog food, they were the only place that had it. got there and they refused to fill the order, upset that a coupon was used and told us they couldn't sell it for that price, even though it had already processed and gone through. told us we could buy it for the price on the shelf, even though it was already bought. absolutely ridiculous and horrible customer service. read more

The pet store is huge and has full service grooming. Their selection of products is impressive and for the quality, much more reasonably priced than petsmart or petco or any other bigger name pet store. The groomers are all so helpful and there's a different grooming special each day of the week. The staff is usually very friendly and there is always someone nearby to answer any questions you may have. I come here almost exclusively now, so y'know, I'm a little biased. But I like the service, my dog doesn't hate me after getting his nails trimmed, oh! and the vip pet card is a good deal, so sign up for that. read more

We used to be frequent customers until my little brother was followed around the store and accused of stealing merchandise. They made fantastical claims and claimed he'd been stealing for weeks with no proof whatsoever. It was a clear case of racial profiling as we live in a predominantly white area and my little brother is Black. They refused to provide proof of their claims, instead banning him from the store and threatening to call the police. My brother is 11 and has spent a lot of his hard-earned money at this store. They decided to repay him by accusing him of theft and sending him home crying. My family and everyone we know will be avoiding this store!!! Soldan's is a better store anyway and will soon have a location just across the street. I hope they drive this location out of business! read more

I've taken my dogs twice to the grooming salon. First visit, after telling them my dogs need should harness & not neck harness, one of my dogs began vomiting foam as soon as I got her in the car. We ended up in the MSU ER for pets. Her esophagus was injured and it cost me nearly $1000. Took them again today (to a different groomer). Got them home & one of them began bleeding profusely from a cut on her paw dew claw pad. It took us over an hour to stop the bleeding. If they had just been honest & said they nicked her pad...no problem. The fact that they didn't tell us sucks. I will NEVER go there again. read more

Pet Supplies Plus is a full service pet supply store and their prices are definitely reasonable. It's actually cheaper for me to buy food and litter for my cat here than it is at the grocer, which is very surprising. The staff isn't as friendly as you'd like them to be, but it's hardly ever busy and I can run in and run out to grab the things I need in a hurry. I definitely prefer it over PetCo in terms of prices and ease of shopping. read more

This is a great pet store! Tricia in the grooming department did a stellar job with my dog's nail trim! I LOVE the variety, and drive to this store for certain products and services. The staff is always welcoming, helpful and personable. The only thing that could be improved upon is the pricing of certain items. I get certain things from other stores since several items I need seem to be priced just marginally higher enough to warrant it.
