I brought in my very terrified dog for grooming. The ladies took their time with him, comforted him and were incredibly patient. Now I have a clean dog, a scheduled next appointment and he looks great. The store itself has everything you'd need, very good selection. They have a great selection of holiday toys and cookies, good, best selection of collars I've seen locally. I look forward to going often. read more

The new manager is extremely RUDE! My wife and I have been shopping at this location for 12 + years. Not until recently with the new manager we had a problem. It all started with an online order. I didn't have my ID (Never in 12yrs needed it) to pick up my order. Ok, understandable. My wife was out of town (the account is in her name), so I had her refund me. She kept rolling her eyes and catching an attitude when I told her I had my email and she stated she needed my ID. Ok... no problem. She didn't give my awards back either. Second, time I went to pick up my order, and I showed my ID to the cashier. The manager saw me from the back. She came to the front and asked me for my ID, I told her I had already shown it, and she stated, "Well, I'm the manager, and I asked you for your ID" I told her, " I didn't give two **** who she was and I didn't care what her title was." She proceeded to "study" my ID. (Why I don't have a clue.) However, when my wife goes to pick up our order that "manager" NEVER asked for her ID. I don't know if it's because she is white. I always get the excuse that we have a lot of "fraud" happening lately. But, there is no case number or fraud cases filed with the police department. I think she is either racist, sexist, or just targeting me. I feel targeted by this woman every time. I have made complaints on her for targeting harassment. 12 years of spending thousands of dollars there, we will be going to other pet stores now. read more

I brought my golden retriever here for the first time for grooming, and we had an awesome experience! He was a little nervous at first, but they were so sweet to him and by the time I came to pick him up, he was loving life! His coat was smoother and shinier than it's ever been, so soft, the trim was awesome, and they clipped his nails and ear mats. The staff loved him and were so sweet to him! He also had the cutest Christmas bandana. We will definitely be returning here for future grooming appointments! read more

Staff is really nice, we have a German shepherd and a pit mix and we go here to bath them and the German Shepards hair is a lot. They don't complain they are happy to see him when he comes in. We try to clean up after our dogs but the staff really come through and make you feel welcome even though the wash room is a mess afterwards. read more

This place doesn't SEEM like much...it's big, but it's older and doesn't look as fancy as the new stores that just opened, but they truly do have people that know and LOVE animals (especially once you've been going there as long as I have and have either purchased different types of small animals or had different types of animals to care for, and have talked to the people in charge of the different areas! They know their stuff)! The biggest thing for me, though, is their grooming department! I have a 12 yr old, 100 lb black lab that hates getting bathed. Morgan is a miracle worker! This dog doesn't understand that labs are supposed to love water...he HATES getting wet! I mean HATES it! He won't even step in puddles. I HAVE to get him groomed bc I can't get him into a bathtub, and he sheds SO much no one can figure out how he's not naked! But he LOVES going to see Morgan! I had brought him to Pet Supplies Plus many years ago and the groomer at the time said he was quite "stubborn"...same report from PetSmart when I asked (I decided to try them recently just to see if I liked one place better than the other). It was fine at PetSmart, they did as good of a job and the price was about the same for what he gets. The difference was that my dog couldn't wait to get out of there (like everywhere else that he's ever gotten bathed), and he's actually excited to go see Morgan at PS+! Apparently he'll even let her do his nails without any grief! This is unheard of! Witchcraft, I tell ya lol! My dog is always groomed quickly so he's not sitting in a kennel for hours, the whole area has a glass wall so you can see the animals and that they are being well cared for, they only take a few dogs a day so they're not rushing to get on to the next dog, and the whole environment is less stressful bc of that, which is very important when your canine companion is dog aggressive! read more

Took my 100 lb American bulldog pit to get his nails clipped ... asked the person working if my dog was too big she said no. My dog ended up getting clipped and was bleeding but woman never mentioned that .. and when I got home I realized she never clipped half of his front paws.... Long story short my dog was bleeding when I got home, called and asked what to do to stop bleeding and woman got attitude about it ... I get it my dog isn't the easiest to cut nails but let me know that you made my dog bleed and the fact you didn't tell me makes me upset ! Love the store but would NEVER go back to get grooming services again !!!!!! read more

Unbelievable. I brought two dogs today to be washed. I finished one and working on the other when a worker sticks her head in the door asking me when I'll be done because another person wanted to use a tub *THERE ARE 3 AND I'M USING ONE. I told her I was done with one and 1/2 through with my other one and she just stays in the door hounding me about my other dog not being on the leash. I'm like, I cannot wash a dog and keep the other on a leash inside the washing room. There's nothing indicating that dogs have to be on a leash in the wash room. I have very friendly dogs anyhow, so anyone could come in a wash with me there. I am a paying customer just washing my dogs!!! I can't believe the rudeness and audacity. Like I"m hogging the place when there was clearly room for others and I'm minding my own business. I was not there long either. Just long enough to lather up two wiggly pooches and rinse all the soap off. I've stopped doing my pet shopping here and now I won't even consider going back to give them 30 friggin' bucks to be harassed for just washing my dogs my damn self. UPDATE: I called the number below and spoke with the asst mgr because the mgr was not there that day. She could've cared less and offered no response other than to call back when the mgr was there. I've only been to the Oak Ridge store once as we just recently moved here, but my experience was great. Dana was the associate who helped me. She answered my questions, made some excellent recommendations, and was friendly and welcoming to this newcomer. This store has a lot to offer in addition to pet supplies. The employees at this store always greet me upon entering the store. They always ask if I need assistance and off to help carry items out. The only issue I have ever had was items being out of stock and I believe this is in part due to COVID-19. read more

I go to Pet Supplies Plus for routine stuff like cat food and kitty litter. They sell what our finicky cat needs (and they do special orders), but I barely scratch the surface of what the store offers. It's entertaining to look at the amazing variety of pet paraphernalia for sale, and to look through the glass to the back room where the store's young dog grooming staff stay busy with jobs like washing customer's dogs. Overall, it's A-OK for the shopping experience and for selling what we need. read more

My little Biewer has a chicken and beef allergy and requires special food. PSP carries the food she needs at a decent price and they are usually in stock. The staff is always friendly, although when it comes to coupons, staff doesn't seem to be trained very well. Once I came in with a coupon for Iams cat food and they had no idea how to use it. Other than that, I have no complaints. I have never had my dogs groomed here before. I recommend Doggie Do's in the Grove Center for that! =) read more

Love this place! We visit Oak Ridge frequently and often bring our two dogs. We always pop into this store to bathe them and grab some toys. They have a great wash station where you can do it yourself - the tubs are high so you don't have to break your back when you wash your pup and it's super cheap to wash them there! The food and toy selection are pretty large. The employees are all super friendly and always loving to our pups. I really enjoy this store and wish they had it in Nashville - I'll always come back when I'm in town! :-) read more

We stopped here on our way home from adopting a dog. (Thanks to Yelp!) They have a wide variety of pet foods and all the accessories. They had good prices on dog beds. The staff never asked if they could help us, and carried on personal conversations as though we were not there. However I also felt like a couple of them were following me, maybe to see if I was stealing? Hello! Say something to me, don't just peek at me around corners! Maybe I look like someone famous? The staff was young, so I chalk it up to that. We purchased about $150 worth of supplies. I would still recommend this shop for its variety, and I would go back if in town. read more

I am overwhelmed (underwhelmed) about the complete lack of care the fish and birds have at Pet Supplies Plus in Oak Ridge. Most of the tanks had multiple dead fish, there was a thick film on top of the water on all of the tanks. I can't even talk about the beta fish, it was that bad. Overall everything was filthy. The birds are so sad and ill cared for. There were at least 7 employees on staff, two working the register and the others were just meandering around -surely someone has time to care for the animals. It's obvious that this is an establishment I can't support due to animal abuse. Pet Supplies Plus I implore you to make a change. Do better. Try harder. read more

I have called every vet and groomer in Knoxville with a resouding NO as far as helping me trim my giant english angora rabbit. She is 14 pounds and a house rabbit and mega amounts of hair and it is impossible to hold her in one arm and trim her stomach and legs. The top and sides are no problem. I spoke with the woman in the grooming department and she said she would give it a shot. How wonderful is that! They get 5 stars in my book just for saying yes. read more
