I took my cat there, thinking he had a UTI. Only vet techs talked to me and they could not extract any urine from him manually. They sent us home with a $70 bill and WE DIDN'T EVEN SEE THE VET! Several weeks later, we took him to a different vet and he has a UTI and crystals. He and we have been suffering all this time. Shame on them. I would go to this vet unless you can see Dr. Westling. The owner is awful.

Very fair prices, super friendly staff and techs at the front, the doctor we saw was fantastic (I…read morebelieve Dr Wessling?) Our only complaint is their repro tech Katie; she is rude and has a grumpy demeanor; that's unpleasant but can be overlooked. I think the worst thing is she does not care about the owners opinions or concerns at all. I was told "No" to multiple things I requested based off of her acting like a know it all. She tried to force change our c section due date and refused to listen to me tell her why I wanted the day I scheduled. She was extremely rude arguing with me telling me she doesn't believe in progesterone testing or counting from ovulation. Told me I was going to kill my puppies. Long story short she changed our scheduled date to day 64 from ovulation against my wishes and go figure my female needed the c section on the day I originally scheduled for anyways! Then we get there asking for an X-ray pre c section and she said no we can't have one because we don't need a puppy count. Then she gave our girl under anesthesia ear medication and a rabies vaccine before letting us know it was being prescribed. It felt disrespectful and unsafe to have a tech take over and not be willing to listen to the owners/ paying customers at all. A couple times I asked "is that safe?" And she just sharply said yep. Not willing to discuss anything or conversate at all. Maybe she just really doesn't like me because I didn't like being told that I had no choice in keeping my schedules properly planned c section appointment last minute and she doesn't like to be questioned. But that's basic customer service and any caring owner would be concerned. I am very experienced so not new at all. I've never dealt with someone so cold. I need this clinic for two more upcoming appointments so I really hope she doesn't make it a nightmare like she did the last. It was almost enough to want to find a different clinic all together. Without the unprofessional demeanor of her, we had a great experience and felt that everyone else there were very caring and friendly. Very knowledgeable surgeon too. Side note: for the people complaining about them hassling you for payment after they provided you services, get real.. barely any vet will provide services without payment at time of service now regardless of situation strictly because people don't pay their bills! It's not the vets fault if you can't afford it. And to berate them for sending your bill to collections? Why didn't you pay?

He was taken to a local CO vet that cleaned the wound and stapled it back together. The bill was $622. (including antibiotics). While back in MN, 8-10 of the staples pulled out. Dr. Denison got us in very first thing the next morning and basically redid the procedure, using regular stitches instead of staples. Spot healed perfectly. (it was also nearly $450 cheaper !) Did Allied live up to its own Core Values when it treated Charlie?…read moreOn September 26, 2026, my wife and I drove more than an hour to Allied Emergency Veterinary Service in Stewartville with our 15-year-old cat, Charlie. He was losing weight, not eating or drinking normally, lethargic, and had vomited. I told Allied very clearly: "Money is not an issue. Please do everything possible to find out what is wrong with Charlie." Allied examined Charlie and documented that he was 8% dehydrated, depressed, and had a body condition score of 3/9. We authorized the recommended testing and paid $1,804.80 in full. Allied performed bloodwork, pancreatic testing, and abdominal radiographs. Charlie was diagnosed with pancreatitis and discharged. But there is a critical part of Allied's own medical record that cannot be ignored. Allied's own radiologist recommended: "Abdominal sonography is recommended for further assessment of the gastrointestinal tract." That recommendation was not followed. There is no documentation in Charlie's records showing that an ultrasound was performed, offered to us, declined by us, unavailable, or otherwise addressed before Charlie was discharged. The radiology report also stated that infiltrative disease, including IBD or lymphoma, could not be excluded and that partial or intermittent obstruction was not entirely excluded. Charlie continued to deteriorate. We eventually took him to Summer's Ridge Veterinary Clinic, where we learned that Charlie had a splenic tumor. We were told that if it had been caught when he was healthier approximately a week earlier, it would have been a simple operation. By the time Charlie was seen there, he was too weak. Euthanasia was the only way to stop his suffering. I want to be fair and precise: I am not claiming that the ultrasound definitely would have found Charlie's tumor. I am saying that Allied's own radiologist recommended additional imaging, I specifically authorized Allied to do everything possible to determine what was wrong with Charlie, and that recommendation was not followed or documented as having been addressed with us. I later spoke with Allied's director, Emily Smith. She told me that sometimes radiological examinations miss things that ultrasound detects, while ultrasound can miss things that radiological examinations detect. When I asked why both were not done, her response was: "It was the doctor's decision." That brings me to Allied's own published Core Values. Allied says: ACCOUNTABILITY: "We appreciate that we have an obligation to improve the lives of ourselves, our team, and the pets and people in our community." EXCELLENCE: "We are committed to being our best in order to deliver the highest quality care." Those are powerful commitments. But I have to ask: Where was the accountability when Allied's own radiologist recommended an abdominal ultrasound and that recommendation was not followed or communicated to us? Where was the commitment to the highest quality care when we specifically said that money was not an issue and asked Allied to do everything possible to determine what was wrong with Charlie? This is not about whether an ultrasound would have guaranteed a different outcome. It is about whether Charlie's owners were given the opportunity to make an informed decision after Allied's own radiologist recommended additional diagnostic imaging. We trusted Allied with Charlie's life. We paid $1,804.80 for his emergency evaluation. We followed their instructions. And Charlie died. Charlie was not just a cat. He was my best buddy. He was deeply loved, and he deserved every reasonable opportunity to find out what was wrong with him while there was still time to help him. I have retained the complete Allied medical records, including the radiology report containing the recommendation for an abdominal ultrasound, as well as the subsequent veterinary records. I have submitted this matter to the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine for review. I am asking Allied a simple question: Do your Core Values of Accountability and Excellence apply when it matters most--or are they simply words on a website? Charlie deserved better.
