You see it is pretty simple it's one stop shopping. This visit I was totally out of our dry cat food. They had an excellent variety of the Purina Liveclear. I just discovered it last month and it significantly reduced the effects from the cats dander and fur. This is why I Yelp so I can learn this secrets than share with my Yelp friends. Don't let the price scare you as you get what you pay for. Also the food is clean for your pet. So it is a Win Win! Lastly by shopping any of the Pet Supermarket stores they have a rewards program. I called them to see if they had my dog's food. They put it aside for me and placed it in my car when I went to pick it up. The sales woman helped me pick out the correct size metal collar for walking my lab. They had fun treats and lots of pig ears. (Very hard to find in Ft. Lauderdale). PET SUPERMARKET PET SPA: Made a last minute appointment to get my dog a full grooming and was able to get him in within the hour. Marlene was very accommodating and friendly over the phone and in person! My dog received a nail trim, cleaning of the ears & mouth, and had the special furminator deshedding treatment with bath and blow dry! When I came to pick him up he was wagging his tail with a huge smile on his face. The Pet Supermarket employees were very friendly and gave him a treat before we left. This is pretty much our go to pet store with everything for our fish pond and pooch. The entrance from Federal Hwy is a little small and not typically accommodating for someone coming/going at the same time. Once inside, you'll be greeted by one of the friendly staff, mostly young adults of the high school or college age. The layout is pretty open and easy to navigate. We've generally found everything we were looking for with exception to some pond filters but we have an enormous pond and typically have to look online for that stuff. Dog food of every variety, not the usual stuff you find in the grocery store. Healthier options and in many different sized bags and containers. Beds, leashes, toys, sweaters,they seem to have it all. Have or want a Fish? You're in luck. Everything for fresh and salt water, they have the fish, plants, rocks, filters, food and aquariums in many shapes and sizes. They also appear to be good for cat, birds, hamsters and gerbils with all the food, gear and stuff for your favorite pet. Open 7 days with pretty long hours, they also send coupons to the house and have a rewards program to rack up some free stuff. Definitely a great place for all of your pet needs. read more

They HURT our dog Marley. Their "Spa" was the only one available on short notice for a flee/tick treatment and after $35, they explained something "may have happened" ("keep an eye on her and let us know, a hair may have gotten in her eye") but weren't sure {The employee indicated she was new}. The next day after getting worse, I took her to the vet only to find the diagnosed her as having ulcers in both eyes from a chemical of some sort. I would imagine they didn't know to avoid the eyes?! Vet bill was $200 and a week of vet prescribed eye treatments, she can now see again. I can see - I'll NEVER go back! read more

This location is very convenient, located off US 1 across from Starbucks and many restaurants.. I've been in a handful of times....only bc Petco is so close, so I tend to just go there... but I love the fact, you can register your animals with the county here, simple process, just provide your rabies certificate, and they do the rest, my dogs that which are neutered get a discounted price, if not neutered it's a bit more, but not much. Other wise , the store is clean, the employee are quite helpful and very nice and sweet. When I come for some yummy treats and food , I'll include more. I did notice, the prices are very reasonable. :) read more

If you can, try to order any toys, crates, beds, leashes, collars, etc online where it is much cheaper. They don't match the prices on their own website and there is a huge difference. This store carries my dogs preferred food so we come here. The parking lot is a bit of a nightmare so I cringe every time I have to come here. The store is clean and the people are friendly. Not as big a dog food selection as the Petco on Commercial, but I can still always find what I need here. They have a great staff that is always attentive and eager to help. When I got my first puppy, the young girl that helped us was just the sweetest. She gave helpful suggestions, found everything for us and even remembered us the next time we came back. Licensed vets administer shots the first Tuesday of every month and we took our puppy there to get all his vaccines (it's cheaper than going to the vet's office). I love seeing the adorable kitties for adoption in their cages by the door...I'm always tempted to take one home! Get a rewards card--you'll get cheaper prices and useful coupons. read more

Had an appointment to get my dog groomed. The store refused to groom him because of his outdated vaccinations . My pet cannot be vaccinated due to illness, even though I I had the paperwork from a veterinarian they still refused. They wouldn't even look at the paperwork. Petco has the same rules about vaccination regardless they actually took the time to read my paperwork and did not refuse service . I understand that these rules are in place for a reason but there are exceptions to every rule and the employees at the store need to be better trained in understanding those exceptions . read more

I'm guessing that Fort Lauderdale is more pet friendly than Miami-Dade and the reason I posit this supposition is because there appears to be a Pet store on nearly every other corner - I pass by 3 on my bus to work daily; 2 of them Pet Supermarkets (one being close to my house). Like their Miami counterparts (I used to frequent the one on Biscayne) they hire a friendly, but clueless staff. Clueless in that each and everytime I come in - with coupons - some of them Pet Supermarket store coupons - the check out person always has to call a manager over and they all act completely flummoxed by a mere coupon. Is this done to actually discourage coupon usage? Why send them out in circulars then? Either way - I want my discount for my two kitties and darnit - you're going to give it to me. So I've not yet had an experience that was easy at the checkout - I always have other customers giving me foul stares as the wait in line for the clerks to sort out the magical world of giving me a discount with my valid coupon. I showed up this Sunday morning right at 10 when they opened - without an appointment. Deb was there and someone was already in front of me but she was happy to squeeze me in between the one who was there first and her 1pm appt. I went to work out and to have breakfast and drove up just as Lucy was getting the blow dry. It's a nice set up and I like that you can see the dog being worked on. She was nice and clean, her coat looked like it had been nicely groomed, and she looked great in general. You could see Deb took her time grooming her. This company is so totally smart. They always mail out coupons for 2,4,or 5 dollars off. Most times it ends up being a 20% off bonus. The store is always clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and have a can do attitude which is sometimes hard to find in this stressed out understaffed world we live in! I was able to return an unused bag of litter (I had purchased two) and the cats and I didn't like it. Even though the receipt was no longer available, they were happy take the unopened bag back for store credit. The animals in the store are well cared for; it is a fun place to shop. read more

We bought a product, a lamp for use in a terrarium. When we got it home we found that the item in the package was not the proper lamp as represented on the package. It was a base lamp like you might find at home depot for a work bench. When we brought it back, the manager actually said she didn't have the authority to take this back and give us the actual product that we purchased. Then she said she has to check with her Corporate office. I have been around retail long enough that I find it incredulous that the store manager can't make basic decisions like exchanging a product that is not as represented. I believe Ms Irving the store manager flat out lied about that. They then held the product for a few days and called us and said that corporate would not authorize an exchange. I do not believe their corporate office would refuse to take back this misrepresented product . The product inside was not what we paid for. This manager smiled in the most sneering possible way as she insisted to me that corporate refused the exchange. I am a 70 year old man and find her behavior unprofessional at best. I have been a customer there for many years and have spent many thousands of dollars there.....That is over until they have responsible, competent managers who can make proper decisions. read more
