Great Veteran Hospital…read more Friendly, helpful and caring staff. All wonderful from the receptionist to the Vets and everyone in between. We've been going to Stack's ever since we moved into the area and could not be happier with the quality of sincere care from day one. Yes, a total Friends and Family recommendations.

Then he developed a severe limp and they put him on gabapentin, again we called and repeatedly brought him in for exams and consistently called about him having a problem with the drug not helping him. At this point I insisted on xrays and ultrasound be done, they had us do bloodwork and told us if we paid an extra $89 for an official pancreatitis test that would be definitive diagnosis that would give us the result that we needed. They could not perform an ultrasound so we had to take him to the emergency vet on Bridge Street in a Syracuse. Come to find out our dog did not have pancreatitis as the vet said the blood test revealed but had full pledge lymphoma, (his neck and jaw presented with hard nodules by the ex vet) and we had to put him down. The emergency vet said the blood test that Stacks office gave us for pancreatitis was not a definitive test for that. So which is it? So disgusted with the lack of concern given toward our dog. It wasn't until i insisted on testing because I was concerned of cancer that a closer look was finally given by the Stack Vet. Extremely upset that we had to put our dog down. Think twice about going there. They gouge you for pricing and never addressed his health until i threatened legal action.

TLDR: Care is good, but the doctor has terrible bedside manner and makes you come in for…read moreunnecessary appointments. --------------- I brought my cat here for a standard post-adoption exam. The technicians and front desk staff were very nice, but the doctor was dismissive and seemed annoyed when I had questions about my cat's care. What really got me was that he flipped out over her weight (half a pound over the standard) and made me feel stupid for how I was feeding her. He insisted on me bringing her back in a month later to weigh her. I only consented because she needed follow-up shots and a nail trim, so I had to come back anyway. When I came in, they refused to let me come back to the room to observe how they trimmed her nails, making me stay in my car. The reason they gave was that the doctor wanted to close early and my appointment was preventing that (my appointment was two hours before the end of business) - there was no COVID related reason to make me stay out. The doctor was displeased that my cat hadn't lost enough weight to satisfy him and made his tech run messages between us about how I adjusted her food, which was crazy because it was freezing out, and she had no coat on. He then made a follow up appointment for another weigh-in without my consent. I had it at that point, found another vet, and canceled my appointment with him. I'm not going back unless it's an emergency.

I wasn't sure I was going to write this review but I just wanted potential boarders to have all the…read moreinfo. We did day care for years at this location without a single incident but as far as grooming and boarding those are another story. The first time I tried to get my dog groomed there as a puppy I was told she wad too aggressive and she needed sedatives to be groomed and though they didn't groom her they still charged me. For perspective she now goes to a groomer with no sedation and has no problem. I just kind of figured this was a one off or a personality issue then we boarded her for the first time. She came home with a hacking cough and we rushed her to the emergency vet. After 8 hours and $500 she was diagnosed with kennel cough and we were instructed to let the facility she was staying at know. When I did that they said well she didn't get it here. I advised them she had not been around any other dogs and the er said to notify the facility so other owners could take precaution. They still didn't believe me and never notified other boarders. We didn't board for three or four years after that but when we lost our dog sitter close to a vacation we decided to try again since a lot of time had passed. About three days after we picked her up I noticed her licking a spot on her leg so I looked at it and found a hole. A red wound that the inside looked like a puncture. My dog is very fluffy and I didn't know how long it had been there. I made an appointment with the vet and reached out asking if anything had happened while she was at boarding. I wasn't rude, accusatory, or asking for a refund but I knew the vet would ask so I figured I would get ahead of it. The owner responded very defensively saying they do a full inspection and watch the dogs 24/7 so nothing could have happened and to let her know what the vet said. The vet said it was likely a cyst that ruptured and looked like it had been open for a while. She was given antibiotics and I let the boarder know again not accusing them of anything or asking for a refund. She again came back very defensively and said she did not feel comfortable caring for my dog again. I was so taken aback as we had done day care loyally for years and never accused any one of anything but had the right to ask questions. I had about 5 day care days and 3 boarding days left on my account. I told her fine if she feels that way then she can refund the days on my account. That was on 4/11 and it took three more emails and almost a month for her to actually mail me the refund.
