Great experience! We have come by a couple of times before to visit the animals because the staff are always so nice and the animals always have clean bedding and look healthy. We weren't planning on getting a puppy, but had been loosely discussing adopting a younger dog eventually.... well.... we stopped by with the kids to visit the animals last weekend and 'eventually' turned into 'this week'! We fell in love with and adopted the sweetest, loving and most happy-go-lucky girl! I love knowing all the puppies there are rescues now. She's a shepherd/pit/dachshund mix which we're excited about because we absolutely love German Shepherds and their loyalty to their families. We have a very loyal old man shepherd at home who is now a big bro :) I wish I was better at remembering names, but the very nice woman who nursed our girl, Jelly, and her litter mates back to health after they were left by their owners (because they were too ugly to sell.. how is that even possible?!) and then had gotten very sick was very passionate and caring while telling us all about our pup. I can tell how much love went into caring for her when she was sick by LLF Rescue because of how sweet and well adjusted she is! (And her brother was a sweetie who was there, too!). The wonderful ladies who worked there were very thorough in answering all of my questions (I had a lot lol) and they made the process of adopting her seamless. Also, their prices for pet supplies are very affordable so we were able to also splurge on some fun toys for her while we were there. This little pup has been a blessing to our family (including our old buddy of course) already and it's only been a couple days. I know this review is long- I like reading others' long reviews as well so I figured I can't be the only one lol :) 5 stars for the Pet Stop-We'll definitely be regulars for pup supplies! read more

If I could give less stars or none I would. Very upset. Got my puppy on Friday, found worms in his poop Monday. I am so angry that I am speechless for words. 1. Lady talked so damn much about not taking my new pup to my vet, I'm starting to wander why. 2. The vet check was 10seconds, so what did you really Check? 3. Why would I trust your store to fix my dog? You all should be ashamed! Thank God my other pets stayed separate or had their own shots. I will be arriving first thing Tuesday morning! My husband and I stopped in for about an hour on Saturday! The owner was super welcoming and was able to answer all of our questions about the doggies she has in her shop for adoption. It is sooo refreshing to meet someone who cares soooo deeply about finding all of her doggies homes. She speaks very confidently that she will find them homes and I truly do believe she will do everything in her ability to do so. Many rescues can be flat out rude when it comes to adopting out their dogs and cats trying to find any reason to tell you no! She is very willing to work with you and is honest and protective of the animals in her shop. Her number one priority is their health and well being and it is apparent when speaking with her. I have the upmost respect for her as well as admiration for what she is doing. Go in and visit! They breed the BEST Shih Tzus. Not only are the Shih Tzus absolutely gorgeous with excellent temperaments, but they are very healthy. They are a home breeder so the pups are WELL taken care of, have routine vet visits and are fully vaccinated. I HIGHLY recommend the owner of Pet Stop's Shih Tzus - I know good Shih Tzu breeders are hard to come by in the Inland Empire, but she is definitely your winner. She has been breeding for YEARS and really knows her stuff. Yes, the store needs some updating and is somewhat dingy, but those animals are well taken care of. My Shih Tzu has brought immeasurable joy to my family's life and I would definitely purchase my next Shih Tzu from Pet Stop. read more

I purchased a puppy here for over $200 and it turned out he was sick! I had to spend $179 in vet bills the first week I brought him home. I do not recommend this place. It's a little cramped and worn down looking. Also, it's hit or miss with the staff. I've been in there and the woman was friendly a time or two and I have been in there a couple times and treated a bit rudely, meh. Poor puppies in those tiny cages :( read more

I purchased an Orange Tabby from Pet Stop in April of 2001, he was a great lil cat, mellow, loving, just cool. He passed on 1/19/2017 so I called Pet Stop to ask he they had an Orange Tabby and they did but he was being treated for eye infection, said I can pick him up in a couple days, when I called to pick up, they said they would like to keep him for treatment a few more days, I think that was very responsible of Pet Stop for doing that and I thank them, very knowledgeable staff, very helpful, the place looked clean to me and it smelled like Baby Dogs & Cats "NOT FOUL AT ALL" 44 yrs, in business...they know what their doing. I purchased a puppy at this shop at the beginning of January. When I went to purchase the puppy I told the owner we were looking for a hypo allergenic dog so it would cause the least problems for my grandson. They puppy I purchased was supposed to be a 3.5 month old Malti-Poo Terrier. He is totally cute. I had him for 9 days when I took him for his first obedience training class. Our trainer noticed that his urine was unusually yellow (almost orange) and recommended that we get him checked. I took him to the vet and they treated him for a urine infection. Once that cleared up however his urine was still orange but bacteria free. He also had a very strong odor coming from his pores as well as his urine (no bath helped the body odor). The vet suggested changing his diet in case he had liver problems. The puppy also experienced a couple of seizures and rubbed its head a lot. The vet suspected a liver shunt problem but could not confirm the diagnosis without $400 worth of tests. I had already spent $300 on vet bills and I only paid $189 for the dog. As much as I loved the puppy I could not afford to spend more money in vet bills. I also had the puppy's DNA tested and it is not a Malti-Poo Terrier mix. In fact it is a Pointer Poodle Shi-Zhu Mixed Breed. The puppy that was not supposed to shed leaves fur and dander everywhere. Not only is my grandson suffering but I wound up with asthmatic bronchitis that will not go away. I tried to resolve the issue but the owner was not in. She never bothered to call me even though we left her my number. Small claims court it is. read more

if i could give this horrid place -5 stars I would. I came in on a Monday with my father to browse through the Kittens. When we walked in I was shocked to see the animals (Rabbits, Cats and Dogs) in close proximity to each other which made then noticeably nervous. There were also numerous animals shoved into medium sized crates (The crate with the kittens in it appears to be quite comfortable, but for the older cats right next to it, the crate is way to small, limiting mobility and leaving the cats with very little stimulation.). The dogs are kept in the back, again in cages that are way too small to house more than one dog. Each cage had at least 2 dogs in it. And don't even get me started on the putrid odor emanating from their cages. I kept my attention on the 3 kittens in the kitten crate. One grey one, one white/ grey one and one black one. I noticed that the white/ grey kitten had a little irritation in it's eye.I thought this to be strange since eye infections in cats are very contagious to other cats, especially kittens since their immune systems are very vulnerable at their young age. I came back the next day, but this time I brought my best friend to see the kitten I was interested in (The Grey one). While looking into the cage, I noticed the white/ grey kitten's eye had gotten progressively worse, yellow/green puss oozing from his left eye and running all over his face. I asked one of the sales ladies if she had noticed it and after briefly looking at the kitten through the bars of the crate, she chalked it up to be nothing more than an irritation left over from a 'probably fight' she got into with one of the other kittens. I was immediately turned off by how completely nonchalant she was being. And how she hardly took the matter seriously. I came back on Thursday to purchase the grey kitten but unfortunately she had been sold the previous night. When I came in, there was one older lady working there, and she was sweeping. the dogs were going ballistic in their cages and when I asked why she merely said that she 'hadn't gotten around to feeding them yet' because she 'was by herself for the last 2 hours'. 2 hours?!?! She couldn't take 5 minute to dump some food in 12 or so bowls after they had been empty for the last 17 hours!?! I was fuming, but kept my feelings to myself. I looked into the kitten crate and saw that the white/ grey kitten's eye had gotten even WORSE! Now the eye was half closed, covered in crust and greenish yellow discharge. I asked to see the kitten and the lady handed him to me. I asked about the eye infection and not only did she lie to me saying that they had been isolating the kitten for 5 days in order to medicate the eye, but she fed me the same bull shit story PRACTICALLY VERBATIM to what the young woman told me the last time I had come in. Before she rang me up, she went to the back real quick and grabbed a deworming shot which she administered to the cat without washing her hands, and with another adult live in cat practically hovering over her. There were sanitary measures taken. It was quick and dirty. Then she wiped my cat's eye clean and administered a crazy amount of ointment into his eyes. I took my new kitten home and on the 3rd day I noticed that his infection had spread to his right eye. I was furious. I called Pet Stop and told them what was happening and they asked me to bring my kitten in and they would further treat him. I was very nervous to take him back to that dirty place but I was desperate. When I arrived, the same lady that sold me the kitten took a quick look at his eyes and then went to the back again and retrieved 3 amoxicillin pills, put them in a plastic baggy and handed them to me. Her instructions: 'Split the pill open and sprinkle about a third of the pill into some wet food. Just eyeball it. He should be fine.' I left quicker than I had arrived, and with a bad taste in my mouth. Following my instincts I took him to Banfeild at PetSmart. When I recounted my story to the nurses at the front desk, not only were they incredibly perturbed by the conditions of the store and the faulty animal care advise given, but they also gave my kitten, Motley, a free examination and free medication to undo the damage done at Pet Stop. read more

I absolutely love this pet shop! I have gotten two dogs here and they have been some of the best dogs I've ever had. The workers have always been kind to me and they seem to have a lot of knowledge on all animals. Today I took my husky and terrier mix to get their nails trimmed and it had been long overdue! Please don't buy any animals here please, and if you do please know the California State Lemon Laws before purchase. My boyfriend and I walk in to the store regularly to see what puppies and kittens are for sale. I've had my suspicions as to the care of the animals for awhile, but today I saw that the kittens were for sale for 30 dollars and all of them were infected with a very infectious illness that would eventually lead to a respiratory infection. If you were to take these kittens home to any other cats it would infect them as well. The puppies are kept in cramp and filthy conditions and the odor inside is disgusting. Please do not support this store and report it as i have if you have the time. read more
