We love Jeanette and staff at Pet Salon. We live nearby and have been taking our pets to them for grooming for over 8 years, both dogs and cats. They are affordable, clean, friendly and usually available same day or next day for appointments. We have 10 cats among us and they groom them at least twice a year. A couple of our cats are lazy when it comes to grooming themselves. I don't know how they get the deep mats out but magically, they bathe, shave, clip and trim them beautifully. We have one large cat that doesn't even like to be touched and I know he must be a handful for them but they never complain and he comes home looking handsome and strutting his stuff. I've been taking my dogs here for the past 10 years and never had a problem whatsoever. The owner and groomer are awesome and will go out of their way to get your dog groomed. Case in point, I brought my dog in on Christmas eve 10 years and had never been here before. It was in the afternoon and I could tell the owner was about to close shop and go home and I bring in my nappy haired poodle who desperately needed a haircut. The owner was reluctant but she stay late and finished shaving my dog. The owner refers to us as "The Christmas Eve dog" and still brings it up when I bring my dog there. I also found out that day the owner had been diagnosed with cancer earlier in the day and she still had time to help me out. Ever since that day, I've always taken my dogs to them. Just yesterday it was super hot out and wanted to shave my dogs to help with the heat. I didn't have an appt and just called to see if they could take both of my dogs at the spur of the moment. I'm guessing you know the answer.... Of Course we can, was their answer. I'm sure there are other good groomers out there but I will never take my 2 dogs anywhere else. September 6: The 1st time I went here, the groomer that did my dog was nice, but the 2nd time it was done by the owner who was very unprofessional (older lady with red hair).. She told me my dog had seizures which had never happened before and if my dog had a seizure she should have called me right away instead of telling me when I picked her up from the salon. She didn't know what she was doing, so I think she combed the dog out while dry instead of combing her before blow drying and during blow drying which would hurt the dog, causing a seizure. I gave my dog a bath the week before and combed her out; no seizure when I did it.. She was very negative.. she told me my dog looked old, but my teacup Yorkie is only 4 years old; she asked if I was sure and did I have her since she was born? uh yes I've had her since she was a baby what does that have to do with grooming? The hair cut was very uneven, and she was very unprofessional. Will not be back I usually go to K-9 loft in Pasadena (much better service), but moved back to the the IE.. Oh and the 1st time I was quoted at $30, this time she charged me $40 an extra $10, but I didn't get anything done differently. September 7: To add to my review the owner Susan who groomed my dog called me twice and left two voicemails after I left my yelp review, she can't take constructive criticism, so instead of trying to be a better person and make her customer service skills better, she decides to leave a longer review than mine. She is lying and definitely did say my dog had seizures while she was combing her out, and I informed her my dog never had a seizure before. I don't have time to read that review or listen to her voicemails, but hopefully she starts being nicer to everyone, including the dogs, and actually starts to act professional. Just FYI, the place is now called Pet Salon but the address and number are the same. Owners just haven't been able to change the name on Yelp. I usually bathe my 20 lb shiba pup on my own but I got sick of the uphill battle and took her in for our first grooming experience. This place is located in a lil random area off the freeway but charged half the price of other salons and was awesome quality, $20 instead of $40! But they only take cash or checks. Dave is the groomer there and he's super chill and experienced. I'd recommend calling in advance because they had odd hours. They're pretty much open until there's no dogs so hours vary day to day. He told us to come in at 11am and she'd be done in an hr and half. I really liked that they didn't over schedule so that the dogs are crated and waiting for hours. Plus, Dave gives you a call when he's almost done so you can head over. In total, my dog was only locked up for maybe 10-15 min. When I came to pick her up, she was soft and fluffy! Dave went above and beyond and took the time to explain the difference in brush types and which was best for her coat. He did an excellent job! You can really tell he cares and enjoys his job. He didn't even seem to mind the scratches my dog left him haha. The quality you get for the price is insane, it's a steal! We will definitely be back! read more

I really like this place... They always do a nice job on my dog. We brought in our Shih tzu Oreo for a shave and bath. They gave her a nice haircut and dealt with her being a dramatic princess, My dog does not like her face or feet touched. She hates being blow dried too.. But her face was very nicely trimmed up. My family is not one to get dogs groomed all the time, but when we adopted a poodle-mix we were in for a challenge. Our little poodle was overdue, so he was a "hot-mess". The staff at the Pet Salon were courteous, and professional. They advised to shave him and then let it grow back out. We were cool with that. They even trimmed our other puppy's nails for $5. Called at 10am on a Sunday to see about setting up an appointment. Super friendly staff offered to fit us in at noon the same day. It was our yellow lab's first time being groomed, so the groomer reassured us she would take it slow and not stress our 8 year old pup. Dixie was ready to be picked up while we were out for a late lunch, the groomer called us back to say not to rush, take our time and she would wait for us. I've been taking my dog here for some time, I made an appointment over a week in advance and also called an hour before the appointment, while also giving the same information on the dog. All I asked the lady was why do I have to keep giving you this information? When another lady drives up and she just walks the dog in! Like wait huh? So the response was.... we do this with everyone because your supposed to call before. well I did an hour before the appointment and showed up on time. Do you not keep the information that u ask for? I said it was poor customer service! and was told I made the lady cry when I hadn't said anything besides asking the question, do you not save this information? read more

I made an appointment for my 2 dogs to get washed and their haircut. We usually let the person know that we don't want their hair cut too short so they don't end up looking really awkward and pink skin showing. My mom took them for their 11am appointment and returned 4 hours later at 3pm. They were there for 4 HOURS. One of my dogs all they did was wash her, they didn't even cut her hair! And my other dog they cut the hair WAY TOO SHORT and he came out looking really ugly! They left his head full of fur and his tail was still bushy. Unsatisfied with the service, my mom tried to speak to the lady to ask about why it had been such a long time that my dogs were there, yet only one of my dogs hair was cut, and why they did not follow our instructions on not cutting the hair too short. The older lady, who looked like she was the owner, (red hair) was getting in my moms face, arguing with her and being extremely rude. Her customer service skills were way below zero. I am disgusted at how she treats her customers. When my mom complained about the amount of time my dogs were there and the horrible job they did on one of their haircuts, the lady did nothing to try and console, apologize or fix the situation. Instead she continued to try and justify the situation by saying that she has other dogs they have to work on, and there's a lot of work they have to do. When my mom tried responding explains that we had an appointment, so our dogs should have had priority, the lady started getting in my moms face (literally inches away) and being hysterical saying things like "are you going to let me talk?" All while interrupting my mom in the middle of her sentences. At one point she dramatically sat on a chair and proceeded to say "go ahead and talk, since you're not going to let me talk". Horrible customer service. Horrible job done to my dogs. My dogs even seemed very traumatized and in distress when we went to pick them up. I don't like the way they had the dogs locked up in cages with a huge fan blowing in their faces. My first dog had no hair cut and had only been washed in the four hours she was there, how do I know if she wasn't in the cage with the fan blowing in her face that whole time. Makes me really worried that that was the case. Would not recommend to anyone to come to this place. Having posted this review I have seen that mine was kept onto the main page, while a bunch of similar reviews complaining about the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the red head lady have been moved to the "not recommendation" section. I have also seen that every time someone posts a review complaining about their experience with her, she continues to be rude and argue with them as a response comment on yelp, saying things like "it's not my fault" and blaming various customers on the experience. Isn't the saying "the customer is always right?" Yet she continues to call them liars and say that their statements are false and criticizing the way they take care of their pets. This is a pet grooming salon, most owners don't know how to cut hair which is why they are taking you for the service to be done. We don't need you criticizing or judging how we take care of our pets. We pay for a service that you say you provide, and we don't nenes the attitude that comes with it. I encourage everyone to check out the "not recommended" section as it shows many similar reviews of 1 star rude behavior about the same red head old lady that works there. read more
