The stress became so intense that she even developed stress colitis after a routine grooming visit she had handled many times before. Nathalie at Les Pawtounes Dog Training was incredibly thoughtful and supportive through all of it. She didn't treat Kiki like a "problem dog" or use a one-size-fits-all approach. She really understood that Kiki was grieving, looked at what was driving the behavior, and gave me a clear, well-rounded plan to help her feel safe, calm, and more resilient. Everything was explained in a way that made sense, and I left feeling like I had real tools to help my dog. I'm so grateful for her compassion, knowledge, and care. If your dog is struggling with anxiety, behavior changes, or stress after a major life change, I highly recommend Nathalie.

Absolutely. This kind of review is gold for trainers, especially when it sounds heartfelt and…read morespecific instead of generic. Heather completely exceeded every expectation I had for Charlie's 3 week off leash training program. Truly one of the best investments I've ever made for both of us. Charlie came home not only incredibly well trained, but genuinely HAPPY, confident, calm, and so clearly loved and cared for during his stay. That mattered the most to me. You can tell immediately when someone treats dogs like family instead of just a job, and Heather absolutely does. Before training, Charlie struggled with pulling, consistency, and focus. Now he walks beautifully, responds off leash, listens reliably, and honestly seems more relaxed and fulfilled overall. The transformation is kind of unbelievable. Heather also kept me updated throughout the process, answered my anxious dog mom questions with patience, and made me feel completely comfortable trusting her with my baby. The amount of care, structure, professionalism, and knowledge she brings is rare. If you're on the fence about training, do it. And if you're looking for someone trustworthy, skilled, loving, and genuinely exceptional at what they do, HEATHER IS YOUR GIRL !! Charlie came back better trained than I imagined possible, and still completely himself: goofy, loving, joyful, and thriving. I could not recommend her more highly.

Prior to training, Xavier struggled with leash pulling, jumping, excessive barking, anxiety, and maintaining focus when he was excited. He could also be quite stubborn. After working with Heather, he now understands and responds to structured commands such as heel, break, heel-to-sit, heel-to-extended sit, and heel-to-down and what impressed us most was how receptive and engaged he was with her commands during the handoff session. Heather's approach is firm but kind, extremely structured, and highly intentional. She took the time to tailor the training to Xavier's personality rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. Throughout the entire stay, she was also very communicative, providing daily updates through a dedicated blog, along with photos or videos and details about how much he was eating each day. That level of transparency made it easy to trust that Xavier was not only being trained, but genuinely cared for. When Xavier was returned to us, Heather conducted a formal, hands-on training session with my cousin and me to ensure we understood everything he had learned. She was patient, thorough, and happy to reiterate techniques as needed, which made us feel confident continuing the training at home. While we know ongoing reinforcement will be important especially since not everyone was present for the initial return; we feel well-equipped thanks to her guidance. Most importantly, we trusted Heather completely with Xavier and would absolutely leave him in her care again. I would strongly recommend Heather and OffLeash SoCal to anyone looking for a trainer who is professional, compassionate, and truly invested in long-term results.

Anyway angie is sooo sweet and even drove over 1 hour to train my parents who take care of Happy a couple times a week - no extra charge... TWICE! What a waste of $200. Here's a disclaimer, I am not talking about the merit of this trainer. I am…read moresure she must be great at what she does, considering all these glowing reviews. This review is only about how useless she was for us. I own a teeny tiny now 6 month old maltese. He is a good dog for the most part, but about 2 months ago he was a pretty bad leash walker. Regular puppy stuff, 4 mo old puppies usually don't know how to walk on a leash if they've never done it before. He was more like a deflated balloon as soon as we put the leash on him. So I called Angie after reading all these reviews. Enough to say her training methods are not for us. I am all about hippie dippie positive reinforcement, and she's not. She told me about some methods she's had to use with more reactive dogs, which I guess one might need to but I am not comfortable trusting her to walk my dogs. During our consultation when Gustave wouldn't walk by her side, she stomped her foot really hard in front of him and he got really scared. I had never seen him scared like that before this. And guess what? That only made him more crazy, instead of making him walk properly. I still let it continue because she sounded like she knew what she was doing and actually gave her a check for 5 lessons. When we got back from the consultation, Gustave was a different dog, and not in a good way. He was running around aimlessly, being aggressive with us, jumping around, just the opposite effect of what a training lesson should be. So I called it off and ended up paying just $200 for the initial consultation. The only thing I got out of those $200 was knowledge of what kind of trainer I don't want for my dog. Btw, I waited 2 months to write this review because now Gustave walks perfectly on a leash, without any forceful training methods (and this was after we took a 2 week break in between after his neuter). This makes me feel confident to say if your dog is not an overly reactive dog and you're just looking for a trainer to correct minor issues, this dog trainer might not be the one for you.

I am here to update my review now that I've experienced the City Dog 1 and the Nature Dog 1…read moretraining classes offered by Canis Behavior. You can find all the classes that they offer on their website along with a calendar that shows approximately a month and a half in advance so you can plan around it. I initially wanted to start out with City Dog classes but they were full so I signed Cheska up for the Nature Dog class first. Brent teaches each series and he's very upbeat and makes all the classes fun and packed with knowledge. When I took Nature Dog, I will be honest I was really nervous and didn't believe that Cheska could be trusted on a long line away from me. During the first class we used 15 foot lines to practice and 15 feet felt sooooo far away to me. I'm looking back now laughing because now I'm using 50 feet of line at the park. In Nature dog you learn how to keep your dog within your radius, allowing them to sniff and explore within that radius while perfecting your dog's recall in this class as well as being able to tell them commands from afar and they follow it from farther than right next to your side. I feel like Cheska blossomed in this class and the trust between her and I sky rocketed. When I took City Dog class we met at the Topanga mall area and this is really where you get to train in real life scenarios. At this mall you've got people walking by, you've got little kids running at you from all directions, you've got other people with their dogs who are just hanging out in the area, and more. So many good learning experiences all in one place. Brent really does go through every possible scenario of what you should do if you run into these types of things as well as how to position your dog while in public. To top it all off, you will also learn using stairs, elevators and escalators with your dog! Seeing all our dogs going up one by one on the escalators is the cutest thing I've ever seen Lol. In the end, Nature Dog was my very favorite class and I believe Cheska excels in this. Being in Nature is what animals were made for. I am already signed up for Nature Dog 2 and can't wait. As soon as more City Dog series come out I will take those as well. With these classes Cheska is becoming well rounded and she isn't confused, she seems to understand the difference of scenarios when we go out. The goal has always been to be able to take her everywhere with me, and through the help of Brent, Hunter, and everyone else at Canis, this dream has come true!
