She had said that my dog was in congestive heart failure and that he had fluid buildup so we had to do a lot of test/x rays which I would do anything for my dogs. We did all the test and surprise no he was not if fact she had no clue what she was talking about and couldn't really give me a diagnosis. She was rude, uncaring, unprofessional and really nasty. I never want to be in the same room with this vet ever.. but my fault I thought I booked w my regular vet. Can I just add that the staff at the front desk are always wonderful, kind and caring. stay away from this doctor.. I ended up leaving w/meds for a cough. On Saturday, August 28th, I received three calls from the veterinary staff stating that my dog was experiencing GI issues. I was told that the veterinarian performed a physical examination and found blood and pus in his stool. They recommended antibiotics, probiotics, and a special GI diet, with the treatment estimated to cost approximately $300 or more. I declined the treatment and immediately had a family member pick him up. The very next day, we noticed that my dog was whimpering and constantly scratching. When we examined his body with a flashlight, we discovered what appeared to be a massive amount of fleas. When I contacted Wheatfield Animal Hospital to express my concerns, the employee who answered the phone was very nonchalant, dismissive, and initially unwilling to help. She placed me on hold and then returned to the phone, stating that she could not assist me because my dog did not have an up-to-date physical on file. I reminded her that my dog had a physical just three days before arriving for boarding and that all necessary paperwork had been provided. I also reminded her that their veterinarian had performed another physical examination on him that Saturday. Once I brought this to her attention, she suddenly stated, "Oh, sorry, I didn't see the update in the computer," and told me that I could come in and pick up flea medication. However, when I arrived, I was told that I would have to pay $80 for the medication. I was extremely disappointed that, after my dog was boarded at their facility and came home with what appeared to be a severe flea infestation, I was expected to pay for the treatment myself. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with my overall experience. What makes this situation even more upsetting is that no one ever followed up to ask how my dog was doing after all of these concerns were brought to their attention. This is supposed to be a place that vows to love and care for your pets, but based on my personal experience, I would strongly encourage pet owners to Run--and run fast. I would not recommend Wheat field Animal Hospital for your pets ‼

He was a lot cheaper too-$3000 vs $25,000 for both knees! My dog was back to running around in 8 weeks after each surgery. We are new to New York so we relied on Yelp to find a good vet close to our apartment. He's received his annual exam here as well as vaccinations. They were very patient and willing to work with us on the vaccines because we had to space them out for budget reasons. They include a complimentary nail clipping with the annual exam, which was very handy because our baby is a monster when we try to do it. I had to request copies of medical records and receipts a couple times and they've always been very quick and accommodating. The staff are all very kind and knowledgeable. They even called to check in after they got word we had to go to the puppy ER for a swallowed chicken bone. We are very relieved to have found such a good vet; we definitely plan on staying with them for the long term!

She immediately made excuses and said "If you don't like it you get go elsewhere" I was shocked and pissed off. Haven't returned. Will not spend money where I am disrespected. PS Place never smelled clean and sometimes my dog smelled like kennel after grooming, which made me have to air out my vehicle. My legit words on the phone were, "Hello, my name is Rose I just dropped off Apollo and I am wondering if he is done or if it will take a more time." The response she decided to give a paying customer was rather than simply answering my question, she chose to answer my question with a question which is always rude when it comes to CUSTOMER SERVICE or life in general. I would know having worked in that field. It could also make a dog owner cautious if they're being treated rudely over the phone...how are they treating my dog? She said, "I thought I said to call at 2:30?" Now I'm always a polite person so I don't get into spats like this. No time. My mature response was, "I understand" and waited for a more polite answer. All she had to say was he wasn't ready. Duh. No need for an attitude. Then she said to call back at 2:30pm. I just hung up because I knew I would not call I will be right there at 2:30pm wait and make sure my dog is okay. I call early all the time to pick up my dog because most places just leave them in a cage to bark. He's good at grooming because I wash him at home. It doesn't take too long with him. I'd rather pick him up especially if he's done early. He's not a barker unless he has to. So I'd rather not get him into the habit of barking his head off. I got a bad vibe from the place after waiting outside for my ride I saw a Maltese break from her leash, run from her owner downtown the street into the adjacent parking lot and run around the car from her owner in fear of the impending grooming. I almost didn't want to leave my love bug after seeing that. Animals are smart, maybe that lovely little dog had a bad experience. So you can easily understand why I called just to see if he was ready and check in on him. When I showed up at 2:30pm. He was not ready. I was then told to come back 15 minutes later. I did, but was late to work where as the Allentown location is always done early; as is every other dog grooming location that I've ever taken my dog to. Every other employee I encountered was nice, but I had to write a review on this one. I never got her name. They are a lot more courteous at the Allentown location so I recommend that one. I will not be returning to this location. I only accepted this appointment because the Allentown location was completely booked and for good reason.

My dog ... that has been going there for 14 years is having hind leg problems and they can't squeeze me in for an appointment or even offer to ask the doctor for recommendations of what to do. I was told call back at 8 am and see if he can get in tomorrow. I'm scared for my dog and they could care less. I'm happy to say that the issue was resolved. My dog in fact had pancreatitis and I'm sure had I waited until Monday things would be different. They were upfront with costs and showed compassion while we were there. They called to check in on our cat and a few days later, they actually emailed the entire appointment notes to us, including pictures of the actual x rays! Although they are different from a 24 hour animal hospital, they are able to offer assistance with many different issues. Highly recommend!
