This is something I failed to do when I hired Diana last year to walk my dog daily during the week while I was at work. Diana was terrible and I would never recommend her as a dog walker. I also waited a year to post this after I moved from LA, because I was afraid about backlash (based on a previous review that someone left where Diana refused to give back his keys and was a nightmare to deal with). It started when Diana couldn't even get my name right when I called her and left a voicemail and she called me back, I had to remind her to send me daily texts that she arrived to my place to walk my dog (something she assured me she would do and is not my job to remind her to do while I am working), she once showed up an hour late to walk my dog and told me she was running late after she showed up an hour late (? wouldn't be that hard to send me a text at the time she was supposed to walk my dog to let me know she was running late? Make it make sense), was not affectionate at all with my dog when she picked her up to walk her (viewed via doggie camera), started rummaging through my clothing drawers/cabinets and continued to do so after I told her I saw her on my doggie-camera and asked her to politely stop. Unnecessary and inappropriate to rummage through my belongings for no reason. It was the last straw and I fired her. However, after reading through the Yelp reviews after I saw her going through my personal belongings and found the terrible reviews--I was afraid to fire her outright. So I had to come up with a lie to get her to return my keys. Fortunately, it didn't get messy. Based on some old reviews, Diana has claimed to not know people who left her bad reviews, so that might happen here--but I have screenshots of her rummaging through my personal belongings in my dresser. I uploaded photos of proof of her rummaging through my belongings, Venmo transactions, and text messages.

Second, his daily uploads of photos/videos with commentary is so helpful, my mom knew exactly the number of content uploaded every day. I recently adopted a 4-year old female rottweiler from a shelter and had not had any basic training, positive engagement/enrichment from humans, and is aggressive and dangerous. Additionally, she resource guards outdoor trash bins, making it impossible to get her on walks. After being with Russ on his ranch, Barb was avoiding trash bins within a day through recall and tons of TLC. His solution to her crying in her crate was to put a blanket over it and slam the sides of the crate anytime she cried. I was naive and thought this was normal. She was not listed on yelp, but Yelp listed other dog trainers in the search results and that is how I found Dog Remedy. When I first saw Dog Remedy on yelp, they had 5 stars. Of course I was skeptical at first, but then I read every single review and when I was finished, I wasn't interested in contacting the other dog trainer recommended by my Vet anymore. I just had to contact David Reinecker! There was only one reason I needed a dog trainer. I have 2 dogs, a female corgi and a male Miniature Pinscher. Every now and then, the corgi would attack the Min Pin. I was desperate and under pressure by the husband to give up the corgi. My husband was even rather skeptical of my hiring a dog trainer. He thought the corgi was beyond help. I called Dog Remedy and Tatiana scheduled our first appointment, saying we would probably need 3 sessions one week apart. The price was definitely reasonable, especially after spending so much money on the Min Pin's hospital bills. When David came to see us, he sat down and talked to us at length about the problems we were facing. Then he started to show us what we needed to do with the dogs. Basically we needed to train the dogs so they know we are the alpha over them. I also mentioned to David that my corgi was fearful of other dogs and would always lunge and bark at them on our walks. She was so afraid that she would always launch the initial preemptive strike to ward them off. We went outside for a walk hoping to encounter other dogs so he could show me what to do. We didn't see any other dogs, but he taught me how to walk with her anyways and what to do when other dogs approach. He said we needed to practice the training daily and he would check in with us in about a week. The day after the first visit, we took the dogs out for a walk and I implemented the training taught by David when I saw a dog owner and his 3 dogs. One of his dogs was not on the leash and I was very cautious, not knowing what might happen. But instead of barking and being afraid, my corgi sat next to me calmly, let the dog without the leash come close to her and didn't even flinch when the dog sniffed her butt! Then the two other dogs that were on the leash came close too. And my corgi let one of them sniff her nose! I was amazed! This would never have happened, normally she would probably have barked like crazy and lunged at them to scare them off. We also noticed that she is no longer afraid of gardeners with loud tools and large trucks. David came to see us one more time and he was very happy with the improvement in the dogs' behavior. He said he could tell as soon as he walked in that the dogs are different now. He was also confident that we did not need a 3rd session. I'm happy to say that there has not been any attacks on the Min Pin since and we continually use David's techniques and training to keep our dogs in check.

Although I won free walking services we needed some extra days and their fees are more than reasonable. Having two Chihuahuas with different needs, I was nervous to hand them over to a dog walker for fear they would misbehave. In the end, Karen was really good with our pups and even sent us pictures of them while we were on vacation. She knew that out senior Chorkie had different needs than our feisty Chiweenie puppy and made every effort to give them both TLC. She even gave our cat some lovin when she came by the house. I was so very grateful to know that each one of my dogs was cared for in a special way while we were out of town. They got the walks they needed and my mind was at ease. We don't know much about our dog's background, but it's pretty clear we've been working to undo years without training, so it was a substantial task to take on. On top of that, while our rescue is a gentle soul, she clearly has some past trauma that leads her to behave aggressively in some situations, and Caryl was a pro at asking the right questions, and giving clear advice about how to handle these situations. We knew she was the trainer for us because she spent so much time in our initial call getting to know us, our rescue, and our situation, and providing insightful suggestions based on what she learned. For example, we had no idea that tracheal collapse was such a big issue for small breeds, and she not only recommended that we immediately switch to using a harness, but recommended a harness that has worked out great for our dog!

While one trainer was helpful with teaching mechanical commands, it didn't address our pup's serious separation anxiety and fearful behaviors. We finally decided on a 3rd trainer, one who was a certified dog consultant. Caryl has been tremendously helpful from the very first zoom session. She meticulously reviewed our concerns, asked for elaboration, and helped us understand the underlying issues to address. We applied the suggestions and within 4 days, emailed her our progress to show just how much happened in those 4 days! Our pup is a quick learner and our new way of being with him and training him immediately clicked. He stopped running the show and we understood how to address his needs while determining the order of routines on our schedule. Caryl recommended great books, items and tools for creating the right environment for our pup, and handouts that we really appreciated to reference between sessions. We can tell she's very experienced and caring and we trust her as she helps us take the measured and patient steps to help our dog overcome his fear and undesirable behaviors.
