When I arrived to pick her up, the total was more than triple what we expected -- with no explanation offered in advance. We were also not given any at home care instructions other than a sheet of paper on going to the bathroom and eating (nothing on wound care or what to expect) so basically here's your dog have a good night. There has also been no follow up call to see how's she is doing. After my husband returned to the clinic to ask about the charges, he was told that "things were more complicated" and that he should have asked more questions. This was extremely disappointing. We were never told there were any complications, no one communicated that the cost would be significantly higher, and when my husband asked if she could come home the same day, no one mentioned she required an overnight stay or that anything about the procedure had deviated from normal. Owners cannot ask questions about issues they were never told existed or updated on. Good communication is a fundamental part of veterinary care, especially when an animal is undergoing surgery and the cost changes drastically. While we appreciate the medical care our dog received, the lack of transparency and communication made this a very stressful and upsetting experience. We want other pet owners to be aware of this so they can make informed decisions. We are certain we will not being using any services from Dr Fuller in the future.

Otis reactive which means, he gets really excited when he meets human's and other dogs. He is also very protective of my wife and I to whom he spends most of his time with. I have hired several trainers and behaviorists to help us with Otis. Let me be clear, Otis is the best dog we have ever had 95% of the time. It is the other 5% that we want to improve. I also wanted Otis to have a place to be boarded so my family can go on a cruise next year. That is the foundation of my needs and story. I purchased a package for Otis at Creative Dog Training for 20 days of "Interactive Dog Day Care". In addition, I hired them for for sessions of dog training with my wife and I. Please remember, this is not my first rodeo on dog training. Otis has gone for close to 20 visits, Monday through Friday every week. He has made both human and dog friends. Some days, the owner of "Creative Dog Training" sends me a short video on Otis progress. Other days, Otis gets kind of a report card of how he is doing. Brining him from Down Town Birmingham to the Summit area every day has been no fun at all. I choose to do it because it was the only way I could give Otis a deep dose of acclimating him to everyone. Today we did our first session with the owner/trainer. Once Otis walks in the door of CDT, he a zero issues with other dogs and is open to new human friends. The training session is about 1/2 and gave my wife and me so very easy hints on working with my dog at home. CDT is not cheap however anything in life that is worth having has a cost to it. I know have a place to board my dog and a better dog at home. We still have huge improvement needed. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hope this helps anyone who reads this review.

We took our dog Shug to our original vet's boarding and were highly disappointed. We took her to WTD, and have never looked back. First of all, they do a temperament assessment to make sure that they don't let in any vicious dogs. Second, this very well might be Shug's FAVORITE place to go. When we pull up, it takes all of our power to stop her from jumping the fence to go and play. And unlike other boarding experiences we have had, playing is what they do best. She is always completely wiped when she gets home and has a permanent smile on her face. Seriously. If your dog is not as social as ours, I am not sure how it would work. But they love the dogs so much, I'm sure they would figure something out to cater to your pet. But as opposed to utilizing the crate at every turn, they have play times 90% of the time for day care and times they aren't sleeping. Friendly faces and a love for our dog is all I need to keep coming back. If you are looking for a place to keep your dog during the day or for boarding, I couldn't recommend a place any more than here.

You can also tell that the staff truly cares for each and every pet. I trust the staff at We Talk Dog more so than any other dog daycare in Birmingham. We had a bad experience elsewhere and were thrilled to find a place that excels in animal care, customer service, and over all professionalism. You know you're leaving your pets in the best of hands the moment you walk through the door. There's no better place! **Update: 6/28/2017 - I just wanted to add an update to my previous review. We have been using WTD multiple times a week for daycare, also boarding when needed, for over a year now. I still can not find a single thing to complain about. We have two dogs that can't wait to get inside to the see staff in the mornings. When we pick them up, they're adequately worn out. They never have a bad odor, they smell just as good as they did when we dropped them off. Neither of them have ever sustained an injury. It is truly a wonderful place. I have full faith in their assessments and grouping system of the dogs. Sometimes one of our dogs has a lazy/mellow day. When she's having one of those slow days, they accommodate and put her with a group more appropriate for her lack of energy. They don't asses once, they assess every single day. I'm so happy to have found such a wonderful second family and home for us and our dogs.

From puppy to passing, this clinic has done everything they can to treat us and our pets with the utmost respect and care. I wouldn't hesitate to have any one of them work with us and our furry babies. Their app makes it super easy to make appointments, order meds and even chat with the clinic to work out plans for boarding, questions and just about anything that I become concerned about. We've dealt with being attacked by other dogs, wild animals, Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever from a tick bite and even rat poison ingestion. And each and every time I knew that Fisher, Bailey, Garfield and Maggie would have the best chance at any recovery in the hands of Riverview. And if not, their compassion (especially when it was time for our two 18 year old Springers to cross the rainbow bridge) was beyond what I could ask for. We brought our dog here for all of the "Family Dog" classes [I-IV) last year…read more Positives: 1) Our rescue dog went from knowing nothing to learning how to touch, sit, down, stay, walk on leash, come when called, and leave it. 2) The trainer we worked with, Aiden, was enthusiastic and helpful and knew our dog by name. 3) Our dog loved to go there each week for class. 4) Scheduling is flexible and you sign up week to week. Negatives: 1) The facility isn't very clean--it smells of urine and has piles of dog hair everywhere. 2) The pace of learning was a bit slow--you're limited by the least advanced dog in the class because of the way the classes are structured. We ended up simultaneously enrolling our dog in a class at a different facility so he could stay engaged and learn new things. 3) The company puts most of its energy into training service dogs--the other aspects of the business seem like afterthoughts. Other thoughts: I think that Roverchase has grown too fast and hasn't put systems in place to keep up. There are many times we were told "you need to talk to Abby about that". Unfortunately, Abby was bad about not answering email, returning calls, or showing up for booked in-home private lessons. When she is with our dog, she definitely knew her stuff and was able to give us helpful advice (that worked). She's just stretched too thin and hasn't realized yet that this is hurting her business. I wish her and the Roverchase team nothing but the best.
