Be aware that you may get some random excuse of why your dog that plays great with other dogs did not get to participate in outside play.

I'm sure there are kind people who work here, but we are very dissatisfied with our experience. We trusted this facility to properly monitor and care for our Australian Shepherd while we were away, paying around $50 per night plus tip. When we picked him up yesterday, we were told he had a hotspot and had been favoring one leg. At pickup, his foot was very red, but there was no visible blood. By the time we got him home, his foot was noticeably bleeding and the condition was worse than we were led to believe. This was not something that happened overnight and should have been attended to. Today we took him to the vet, where we learned that infection had already set in. The visit cost us an additional $150, and he is currently unable to put weight on his foot and will need at least a week to recover. We attempted to contact the facility through both the website and email and have yet to receive any response. While we understand mistakes can happen, this situation is not acceptable. I would encourage anyone looking for attentive care and communication to look elsewhere.

Same for my newest dog who has gone to day care once every week or two for about 5-6 months. They all know him too, partly because he's so energetic, and he plays endlessly! He has been in puppy training and they have helped me reinforce good habits and giving him time outs so he can decompress from all of the doggy stimulation. I wanted to leave this review because I believe their score on Yelp should be much higher! My youngest is a Husky mix and my oldest is a pug.

Unprofessional and disrespectful treatment by staff…read more I had high hopes for this veterinary practice because the veterinarian himself is knowledgeable, kind, and clearly loves animals. However, my experience with the staff has been deeply disappointing, to the point where I can no longer recommend this clinic. I reached out to them for help rehoming my cat, as I was told they might be able to assist in finding a foster home. Over several weeks, I followed up multiple times, only to have to repeat my situation to different staff members each time. I explained that my cat was attacking another one of my pets and that I was desperate to find a safe, responsible home. During one of my last conversations with a staff member, I expressed my distress in a way that was clearly misunderstood. I was adamant that I did not want my cat to be euthanized and refused to take it to a shelter for that reason. Despite this, the clinic called the police on me, assuming I was a danger to my cat, which was not only incorrect but completely unnecessary. The way this situation was handled was unprofessional, harmful, and frankly, traumatizing. I live with health conditions and the police arriving at my home, banging on my door, made the situation significantly worse. Instead of communicating with me like an adult, the staff member avoided accountability when I later inquired about what happened. To make matters worse, I then received a termination letter dropping my pets as patients from the clinic. What's even more disappointing is that after all of this, they have shown their true colors by not even caring about the rehoming of my cat. They would rather I take my cat to a shelter where it would likely be euthanized, yet now that I'm still trying to find a safe home, they are ignoring my calls and emails--while an innocent cat's life is at stake. This level of disregard is absolutely unacceptable for a veterinary clinic that claims to care about animals. On top of that, it seems that none of the staff are actually certified veterinary technicians, and that lack of proper training is evident in how they handle situations. This ultimately falls on the veterinarian for choosing to employ an untrained, inexperienced, and very young staff. Science has proven that our brains are not even fully developed until age 25, and it shows in how immaturely this situation was handled. A veterinary practice is not just about the doctor--it's about the entire experience, including how staff treat pet owners in difficult situations. The veterinarian may be great, but his staff's lack of professionalism, compassion, and accountability completely ruins the experience. If you're looking for a veterinary clinic where the staff is trained, professional, and able to handle sensitive situations appropriately, I would recommend looking elsewhere. I truly wish I could give this place five stars, but integrity demands honesty.

They provide a 15% discount off your first-time visit along with some goodies for your pet's first visit. Even if you're forgetful like me, they will honor that 15% on a future visit. They do an excellent job sending reminders, making phone calls for you to come pick up your pet if you boarded it, vaccinations, everything. They're willing to work with your schedule no matter how crazy it gets. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to other pet owners in Birmingham. It also helps they're located near Petsmart and Petco if you need to pick up anything else on your way back home. It might be a hard place to find since it's off in a small road. However, it feels like a family run business and they'll give you all the attention you need.

From puppy to passing, this clinic has done everything they can to treat us and our pets with the utmost respect and care. And not just one single doctor, but we have seen Dr. Tate, Dr. Wood, Dr. LeBlanc, Dr. Dodgen, Dr. Campbell and most recently Dr. Ball. I wouldn't hesitate to have any one of them work with us and our furry babies. Their app makes it super easy to make appointments, order meds and even chat with the clinic to work out plans for boarding, questions and just about anything that I become concerned about. We've dealt with being attacked by other dogs, wild animals, Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever from a tick bite and even rat poison ingestion. And each and every time I knew that Fisher, Bailey, Garfield and Maggie would have the best chance at any recovery in the hands of Riverview. And if not, their compassion (especially when it was time for our two 18 year old Springers to cross the rainbow bridge) was beyond what I could ask for. Don't think twice, you are in the best care at RAC.

That means it is very hard to deal with at a Vet office. The owner met me one day and said, "Bring Otis in during your walk. We will give him treats and he can get familiar with our place. I did just that, and Otis started to take me to the front door so he could see his new friends (unbelievable) and get treats. This morning, I took Otis in for an actual visit with the Vet. A vet assistant was educated in these kinds of dogs. She educated me, gave me some sedatives for the next visit and explained that these small bullies are simply like this sometimes. Otis got a shot for the flu (I highly recommend) stool sample, heart and teeth checked. He also got a q-tip in the ear. I had to hold him tight, but it was fine. The staff showed calm professionalism. The facility is pristine, and the parking is plentiful. They have day care, VIP Day care and boarding. Amazing place and so nice for us. I highly recommend.
