Just found Southern Pro Kennel and had the opportunity to use their dog boarding services. My 10…read moremonth old, 60lb, puppy Bolt stayed with them for 9 nights while the family was traveling. We are doing the month long training program in July so I had spoken with them and was familiar with Parker and Haley. They were not annoyed by any of my questions and Parker was very helpful in correcting some troublesome behaviors before we had Bolt stay with them. She came back leaner and with a shinier coat than when we dropped her off. I'll be posting another update once we do the month long board and train program, but I can say they are very affordable. While $1500 is no small fee, most other board and train programs are that or more for only 2 weeks!! Bolt is a Great Pyrennes mix so she has quite the independent streak but we'll see what magic Parker and Haley can work in July. I cannot say enough about Southern Pro Kennel. Their location is convenient to downtown but far enough out that they have a large amount of land to work with the dogs on. Look for my updated review and if you need dog training/boarding look at Southern Pro Kennel.

I really love and appreciate the multiple astroturf areas that are both inside and outside (helps greatly with our dog's contact dermatitis to grass, as well as a little extra cushioning for her arthritis). Prices are very fair and there is also a groomer onsite too. If you're looking for a boarding or daycare facility for your family pet member(s), I definitely recommend Barks and Recreation. My girlfriend's Laberdoodle on the other hand is a lot more work. Mayra is known as the best Doodle groomer around and for a good reason. My girlfriend has taken her Laberdoodle to 8 or 10 different groomers and we have always been disappointed with the results. Mayra has a special touch especially when it comes to Doodles. Every time she takes her Laberdoodle there the dog comes home looking better than the last time. She groomes her Laberdoodle the way that breed is supposed to look. She is amazing. Our dogs love to go for a ride in the truck. Every time the see that they are going to the Barking Lot they get super excited. Mayra and the whole staff treat our dogs like they are their's. When we go to pick them up they don't want to leave. That shows us how much the love and care for our fur babies. Whenever we go on a vacation, we always board our babies there. They take such excellent care of our girls. They have made new friends and old each time. They have so much fun playing with the other dogs that we think they would rather live there sometimes. If you are looking for an excellent place to groom and board your babies this is the place. We have been coming here for over 4 years now and we will never go anywhere else. I just want to thank Mayra and her staff for taking such amazing care of our girls.

He's an English Bulldog and you have to wipe them after the bathroom. They aren't that involved here. They also don't keep their collars, they make you take them and they use those slip knot lanyards for walks & moving around the kennel. Here comes my problem. Our 2 dogs stay w/ each other. NEVER APART! And I explained this, they both get extreme anxiety when separated. Well, to clean their stall (which tells me they don't watch them on a regular, or they wouldn't use the bathroom in it) They had to be separated in 2 separate areas (also against what I told them, and makes no sense). The Bulldog will not go in a small crate or pen and will put up a fight if pushed or pulled which is why I suggested they keep his collar for that, not on him! But to move him! He NEVER had a collar sensitivity issue ever before! Ever since they stay there, he becomes aggressive, growls, barks & has bitten me & his dad anytime we attempt to put his own collar on him. I can only assume that they used that slip knot lanyard on him, choking him, and now he is scared to death of anything around his neck. He was well trained as he is 2.5yrs old not a puppy. Now 4.5 months later I still get bit attempting to put his collar on & attaching a leash to him. He is making progress of being retrained w/ a leash & collar. They also asked for pics while away (I signed the box to be sent them) Never got 1 pic, and they come w/ a complimentary bath after a # of stays...but the day I picked them up they said they couldn't give them a bath because they were booked already. I asked to bring them back for a bath & they said I would have to pay.
