I was gifted a personalized hoodie for Christmas. My friend had my last name put on the back of the hoodie. She said the company that she bought it from could not add special characters. I have an apostrophe ( ' ) in my name. Instead she left a space where it would have gone. The hoodie is really nice but I just needed the apostrophe. That's how my name is spelled. I yelped around a bit and came across this place. Best decision I made. I didn't catch his name but I'm assuming he was the owner. I walked in and explain the situation and he immediately recommended a couple options that he can do. He said it was a quick fix. The lady who did the printing was not there yet. I hung around another 10 minutes or so chitchatting and listening to him tell some jokes. I left the hoodie with him and he said he'll call when it's ready. About 40 minutes later he told me to come pick it up. It turned out perfect!! They were able to match the gray perfectly. I would recommend this company to anyone who likes a good joke and a great deal! I will definitely be going back for some printed birthday t-shirts and anything else I need. read more

Over three years ago I requested 3 tshirts have photos lithographed onto them. I paid in advance (dumb move). I provided the three high quality blank t-shirts of different colors U planted the photos placed on ( dumb move #2). And over 2 years while occasionally going inside the store and petting the dog I heard each sad sob story of how my shirts would be found or my money would be refunded and because feel like a native Oak Parker I did not write a negative review or call the cops. I see the place is currently closed. It should stay that way. Before they were there it was called Frameworks and I had great experiences and products from them. Sadly some folks need to just retire and not try to run business. Or at least provide apologies and refunds when they mess up. You messed up. Good bye. read more

I do NOT recommend doing business with Personalization House due to this company's unreliable and unprofessional nature. This company agreed and promised to donate shirts for a charity event that I volunteered for earlier this Month. Personalization House agreed via email to donate 50-75 shirts 84 days ahead of the event. Before the written agreement, the donation request included the number of shirts. Personalization House's confirmation to provide this donation failed to mention any issues with material costs. Therefore, we were unaware that we were responsible for calculating material costs on this supplier's behalf nor that it would be a problem. When the event representation arrived for pickup, the shirts were not ready. The owner proceeded to blame the missing shirts on the material costs and failed to take accountability for the company's written agreement. In addition to the owner's lack of accountability and communication, he met our event representation with hostility, as if she was responsible for the company's shortcomings. He stated our event representative had an "aggressive nature," which is an utterly unprofessional way to approach anyone you agree to do business with (whether it is a donation or not). As hinted at in previous reviews, aside from this specific shortcoming, Personalization House is unreliable and irresponsible. read more

What a disappointment. I ordered custom sweatshirts and they were never sent to me despite having arranged for shipping. I called to find out what happened about a month after and the owner straight up lied and said he lost track of the order and had JUST shipped it a few days before. It has now been a couple of weeks and the items have not arrived. He also said he would refund me since the items were not going to arrive for Christmas and he didn't do that either. After 4 mos and 30 communications by email, phone and several visits, your company couldn't complete an order for one t-shirt that I've been getting from your company for over 20 years. The last weeks of communication was directly with the owner, Eric. Now he is not even picking up the phone. I grieve this. I love supporting local businesses. Plus this gift is a regular nostalgic one that I give my husband every year with a favorite graphic on it, each year in a different color. So he won't get this Christmas gift this year. Please, do NOT do business with Personalization House. The owner of the shop, Eric Priceman, promised me a donation of shirts for a charity event I was hosting. I have this agreement clearly stated in an email correspondence. The agreement was made on March 22 and the event was being held on June 14. Similar to countless other reviewers, I was told the shirts would be ready on a specific day, and then shipping delays would require a few extra days. This went on for two months. On one occasion, he told me the shirts would be ready so I arrived to the shop in person. When I expressed disappointment in the shirts not being there, he berated me in front of one of the store workers. I had to de-escalate the situation and ask him to calm down. Finally, after I sent an email disgracing the business for poor communication, Eric blamed the missing shirts on the price of labor and tariffs and even tried to claim that we never had an agreement in the first place. This email back-and-forth took place less than two weeks before my event, when it was nearly impossible to find another business to print the shirts I needed in time. I'm grateful I didn't spend my own money like so many other reviewers, but am gravely disappointed in the lack of communication and the energy that I spent chasing after products that I'd never receive. When I told Eric that I'd be leaving negative reviews across as many platforms as possible, he offered me the box of blank shirts (that he initially claimed he didn't receive from FedEx) if I promised not to leave a bad review. Who knows how many other customers he's made such deals with to save the name of the company. Save yourself the hassle. read more

On September 18th I arrived at the 127 N. Marion St. location in Oak Park IL. and provided four shirts to the Personalization House (Shirtworks) representative, Jenny; two shirts that were coming untethered for repair and two additional new shirts for new print lettering. I was promised a 10-14 business days turnaround to complete the repairs and new print lettering for my shirts. On October 8th I spoke to one the organization's representative, Eric, and was told my shirts would be retrieved from the 3rd party manufactory location and would be ready for me to pick up at the Marion St. location on October 10th. I called on October 10th just to be informed by the same representative (Eric) my shirts had not been retrieved from the 3rd party manufactory location yet but would be at the Marion St. location on October 11th. On October 11th, 17 business days post drop-off, I only received the two repaired shirts, not the two new print lettered shirts. The same representative (Eric) then offered to mail my shirts overnight, but of course he never mailed. I called back again Wednesday October 16th just to have that same representative (Eric) state my shirts would be retrieved from the factory that day and I could pick them up Thursday, October 17th. I then gave him an extra day and called on Friday, October 18th just to be informed again he had not retrieved them from the factory but would get them by 5PM that day. I arrived at the Marion St. location Friday, October 18th around 4:45PM or so just to be informed yet again my items were not there yet. The representative (Eric) then informed me he would pick them up immediately and I should return to the Marion St. location in 45 minutes, but I returned to find the store closed. I waited, but of course the store didn't reopen. On October 22nd I sent another email communication to the business requesting my two shirts be returned to me, regardless if the lettering was completed or not, and they were not returned to me. After several calls, with no answer, and several voicemails and no return call from the business, as of November 8th my shirts still have not been returned to me. STOP STOP STOP!!!! I earnestly implore you to TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE???? read more

Horrible service. Replies were between 1-4 days, causing my order to end up not even ready after a month. I was told the people at their service center had covid. I was not notified this would affect my order completion date. "Proofs" were sent to me numerous times, but the images didn't come through. I came in on a Thursday night with a very small job: just needed my dog's name embroidered on his therapy dog vest. Erin was very helpful in choosing a font, understanding the layout I wanted, and giving us priority over larger jobs (putting my small job at the head of the line). Erin sent me a PDF of the layout, which I approved, and then had the job finished by Friday evening. All for $15. I'll definitely be back if I need any other of there services. read more

A long time ago it was my duty to get a school spirit shirt together for my college. It was that experience that led me to understand exactly how much of a pain in the butt it can be. Up until that point, I thought one could scribble out a design on a piece of notebook paper and email it to the powers to be and voilà! A thousand of t-shirts would show up on my school door step. Not so! I think that I would have been eased into the process a little bit better if I started with Shirtworks instead of jumping into the deep end in South Bend. C'est la vie. I would never have even considered re-dipping my toe into the t-shirt making waters if it hadn't been for this girl nicknamed Klud who I met some years ago. She had this thing where she would have a single t-shirt made for herself every year on her birthday. It was clever and quirky and I was intrigued. I thought, if she can do it for one shirt every year then surely so can I! Soon after I met Klud I spent some time talking to Rick, the owner of Shirtworks about my t-shirt concept. I wanted three shirts made for me and my two BFFs at the time. Then, I also wanted two other shirts made for me and my significant other. Rick was super friendly and easy to work with. He patiently explained the process and worked with my designs. The BFF shirts were a smashing hit! The significant other shirts... not so much. It was my fault and not Shirtworks. It was through that process that I learned that there are at a few processes for making a t-shirt. There's one where the solid color is actually cut out into the shape of your design and then somehow pressed onto the shirt. In order for that to work the design has to be über simple. It turns out nice, bright, and bold. My BFF shirts, for example, had a solid circle with our first initials cut out of the middle. The next way is essentially an iron on. The design is printed in full color onto an iron-on piece of paper, they hand cut around it to remove the excess paper, iron it on, and then peel back the paper leaving the design. For this to work properly the design has to high quality and the shirt needs to be a light color. The significant other shirt was a pretty low quality image and it turned out pixel-y. Rick forewarned me about that but I charged ahead anyway. Eh - things you do for the flavor of the moment. All impulsive and ish. The last kind is a screen print. Shirtworks (and most other companies) won't bother making a screen unless there's a large quantity of shirts being made with the same design (e.g. the spirit week shirt). Shirtworks also does embroidery and a couple other methods but I'm not so familiar with those. What I DO know is that they let you pick out your own shirt, hat, bag, jacket or whatever. It's nice that Shirtworks is so incredibly flexible and easy to work with. They have always responded to my emails quickly and answered my calls with friendliness and warmth. They were honest with me about my design ideas. Oh - and the price is RIGHT. Fast forward to the present moment. I just designed what Rick called "the shirt of the day" for my friend's birthday present (see the picture) and it cost me just under $30 AAAAAAND it got done in three days (I called and emailed on Monday and picked it up on Wednesday of this week)! Horrible service. Went in with a couple shirt 3 weeks ago. Was told a blue one would take "about a day" to print. The other was a Scottish shirt I needed re-created for the Highland games this weekend. He said it would take about 2 weeks. I said that was fine. Two days ago, 2 1/2 weeks after i brought both shirts in, i talked to him on the phone, and said i needed the order done by friday, for the highland games. 3pm today, Friday, called and he doesn't pick up. I go in, he's completely clueless, i reference the conversation from two days ago, he's says he can get "the one day job" from 3 weeks ago done by the end of business today. I said, "I don't care when that one, you said would take one day to get done, i told you i needed the order done with the Scot shirt and the other by today, you guaranteed it." He said,"Well, it takes a couple weeks to recreate a shirt". I said, that's why I brought it in 3 weeks ago, and reminded you two days ago, and you guaranteed it for today. Completely clueless. This place is fabulous. I went in to make a "joke" t-shirt using my company business card logo and got a true qaulity product back. The owner sent me an email proof of the custom art and let me pay over the phone so that someone else could come pick it up (As I wouldn't get there before closing from downtown). I would totally order more from this place! The price was a bit steep ($28 for one shirt), but when you consider it was a custom project and Lucky Jeans sells their mass-makreted stuff for $40 a pop, this is not bad. read more

She was very helpful, suggesting a change in resolution of the images that made all the difference in the final product. She even gave care tips to maintain the vibrant colors of the image. These guys are mother loving rock stars! An internet shirt company who provides the same service claimed my design wouldn't work on a shirt. Not content to take no for an answer, I visited Shirtworks. The owner talked to me, told me some options, made color suggestions, got the design to work AND showed me a better version with a border, then did the shirt in just a few days for about the same price as I was going to pay the other guys. I even received after -hours email support! In addition to custom tees, they have plain and pre-designed shirts you can walk out of the store with on racks and on wall displays. My recent order was a ~500 quantity, a range of sizes from childrens through 3X, a custom color, with a detailed graphic... and a relatively short time frame.
