They also pressure washed my entire house and repaired and touched up a number of minor rusted nails. My entire house looks like new! Their bid was very reasonable and accurate, with no additional surprise charges. Nikki, their office manager, job coordinator and scheduler did a great job in keeping me informed and she made sure the job was completed right on schedule. I contacted them because all their reviews were so positive. I have a 3,200 Sq ft attic that has been a hotel to my numerous feral cats/kittens and a few opossums and raccoons for 15 yrs now! They destroyed all the insulation and the heating/air ducting You ask how did this happen, well if you have ever dealt with a large group of feral cats that breed like rabbits, it becomes overwhelming very quickly especially when you don't even know they are up there! Well, we are finally down to two cats living up there so we knew IT WAS TIME TO GET THE ATTIC CLEANED UP, NEW INSULATION AND DUCTING AND THEN CLOSE IT UP FINALLY! I called three contractors expecting them all to turn down the job and I couldn't blame them if they did! Fortunately, SCI - Simons Const was the first company I called. Ryan answered the phone and said he would be out the next da1y to look at it. He went up into the attic and when he came back down he said YES, they would do the job and he explained in full detail to me what they needed to do and how they were going to do it! He also sent me a detailed bid THAT NIGHT and explained a lot of things can come up once it's cleaned up like wiring and structural issues. Obviously these would be added costs but I was informed by Don, who was amazing and worked like a supervisor along with all the crew, every step of the way if they saw anything that was a concern! I could never say enough GOOD THINGS ABOUT DON!!! He always kept me informed what they were doing, when they would be here and he always made sure they were not interrupting my daily activities! He always kept Ryan in touch of what was going on and then Ryan would call or text me too to make sure I knew what was going on! I tell you, THESE GUYS ARE ON IT and SO EASY TO WORK WITH!!! They also had to keep in touch with my heating/air Co, the insulation Co and my roofers because they had to cut holes in my roof to take out all the old insulation and ducting so we could put in the new stuff! Ryan suggested putting together a group text with everyone's numbers so that EVERYONE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND WHEN, IT KEPT THE PROJECT RUNNING SMOOTHLY AND ON TIME ​The entire project only took 1 month but it felt like it was just a couple of weeks because everyone was so efficient and fortunately there were no unforseen issues I could go on forever about SCI - Simons Const, Ryan, Don and the wonderful crew but all you really need to know is THEY ARE THE BEST at least from my experience in every way!!! So easy to work with, honest reliable and they REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND THEIR WORK SPEAKS FOR ITSELF! Wouldn't recommend. Hired to paint two story house, deck and stairs…read more Doesn't supervise his crew much, then denigrates their work. His crew works hard, but is not well trained. It is his responsibility to train and supervise. They do a minimum of sanding. I even caught one starting to paint a dusty door without even wiping it. This is his regular crew that has been with him for years! Whitfield applies only one coat of paint. This is even for a home at the shore! He balked at suggestion if two and gave a long explanation why. What nonsense! All painters do two coats for good reason. He does't stand behind his work. Sherwin-Williams' deck paint failed within 6 weeks. It absorbs dirt, it is wearing off in patches and showing old paint underneath. Whitfield refused to repaint with two coats of better paint. Great! Now we have the trouble and expense of calling back the painter we used six years ago who applied two coats of high quality paint. That job did not fail, but I wanted a different color. Should have rehired that painter in the first place! Also, Whitfield failed to arrange for the carpenter (a very skilled worker who can do just about anything) to return to finish a short deck rail that needed to be crafted, installed and painted. It's been 6 weeks! We hired Whitfield because he was available and not expensive. Now we know why.
