This course has undergone many improvements over the past year. If you haven't played here…read morerecently, don't let the current yelp rating discourage you. The course is in great shape, and the changes have made a noticeable difference. The biggest improvement is around the eighth green. The former swamp is now a pond, and the hills behind the green have been moved back, extended, and mowed. You can now go for the green in two without automatically losing your ball if you hit it a little long. They have also cleared a tremendous amount of overgrowth, weeds, and honeysuckle throughout the course, making it much more attractive. The staff is great, and the clubhouse and kitchen have been completely renovated. You can now enjoy a meal after your round, and everything I've tried has been excellent. Many reviews complain about slow play. Tee times are eight minutes apart, and I've played rounds with my foursome in under 3 1/2 hours. Other rounds have taken about 4 1/2 hours, which the course considers an acceptable pace. Some days will be slower, especially when the course is crowded or less-experienced golfers need more time. The staff will speak to groups that fall behind with open holes ahead of them, but sometimes there is only so much they can do. This is a reasonably priced public course, not a private country club. An occasional five-hour round can happen, but overall, the improved course conditions, friendly staff, renovated clubhouse, and affordable rates make it a great place to play.
