Take my recommendation and take your auto anywhere but here! You will be happy you listened. This is not so much about the quality of work, but complete lack of communication on their part. Where do I start. My insurance company told me to go get estimates, Perry & Terry was recommended by a friend who went to school with the owner Sam. I prefer mom & pop's places over larger ones to help out the "small man" . This was definitely not the case here! I got no customer service period! Here is my experience. I met Joe the owners brother to get an estimate as instructed, Joe told me he could NOT give me an estimate, but for me to contact my insurer to get an estimate before he could help me (red flag). WHAT? I told Joe the insurance company sent me to go get estimates. So I left and received other estimates from other shops. My friend told to go back to Perry & Terry that was not correct. So I did (my mistake), this time Joe was out that day, so Mitch gave me an estimate right away. Hurray! I compared it to the others, Perry & Terry was about $600 higher (every company uses the same software, so it is easy to compare) but could take me in 3 weeks (now I suspect why) as opposed to 2 months. So I made the appointment (my mistake again) and ask about the price discrepancy from the other quotes. I was told Mitch has 20 plus years experience and knew what he was doing, beside "we" do great work! I get a call saying that they discovered an additional $900 worth of damage that was "hidden". I said ok, because they had to remove the bumper, thought it was plausible, but thought to myself Mitch has 20 years experience. I note this because it was the ONLY call I ever initiated from Perry & Terry, until the day I picked the auto up. I asked would this cause a delay in having the car ready, and was told no, by Joe, that Wednesday August 26th it would be ready. I called on August 25th because I had not heard anything from Perry & Terry and I needed to let the rent-a-car place know about returning the car. I was told it was in the paint room. I asked why has no one notified me of they delay, and I was told we do good work (interesting-this is their go to phrase). I was told it would be ready now on August 28th. So I called on August 27th because I had not heard back from anyone and was told by "Louie" that the car was in paint. I told Louie that was what I was told on the 24th. He said both Sam and Joe were out and couldn't help me. I told Louie someone needs to keep me the "customer" in the loop because I have to make arrangements . Louie now said it would be ready on September 2nd. I told him I am now having to pay extra 7 days for a rent-a-car because they don't have their act together and cannot communicate with the "customer" with what is going on. I, the "customer" once again called on September 1st, because "gee" no one from Perry & Terry has or would call. I was told the car would be ready mid morning. I dropped the rent-a-car off the morning of the 2nd and headed to the shop. I received a call stating that I have a $1000 deductible and I needed a cashier check for at least $500 because the would NOT charge a credit card for more than $500. WTF!!!! I told it was a stupid policy and asked how come someone did not inform me of this before I dropped car off. I had no access to my bank (not one in the area and I'm on foot now). I told Louie to talked to Sam, because I was a personal friend of his high school buddy and he referred me to you. I also asked Louie that I would like to speak to Sam about my experience, because my buddy said that Sam would like to know what has happened and this was not typical service from Perry & Terry. Louie calls back and said that Sam said it was "company policy" and would not budge. HELLO SAM, YOU ARE THE COMPANY, DUH!!! Your employees have dropped the ball once again and left the "customer" in a bind!!! I was able to find an ATM and withdraw the $500 and charge the other $500 on the credit card. I picked my car up and left. I will NEVER return to this place and will NEVER refer this place to anyone I consider a friend. I also would like to state this the FIRST review of any kind I have ever left. So I do not make it a point to "bash" business's but I find reviews helpful and now figure I would be part of that process......Have a nice day! read more
