It looks AMAZING and he worked ridiculously hard to get it done on time so I could host 24 people for Thanksgiving dinner. The project was to just build a rough frame, we wanted to finish the inside ourselves. Well, we got rough alright. He left the entire roof overhang inside the room, we had to cut it back ourselves after he was 'done'.The door leaked from the moment it was installed and it took me TEN MONTHS to get him to replace it, and yes it leaked the entire ten months and I don't think Kris cared at all. I'm not sure he had even installed a door before but luckily he brought someone with him when he put in the replacement who had, or at least he could read directions so it was done right. The roof was not tied into my existing roof correctly so it leaked all winter. It cost us an additional $2000 to have the roof repaired by someone else. Kris also lied about how the new stairs were supported. He told me the railing post at the bottom of the stairs was a few feet in the ground, that was not true, he cut the post at the ground. My yard is very sandy and the stairs needed the support. He put the stringers right on the ground, not even a patio block for support. They sank about three inches and were pulling away from the landing. He had attached a diagram with his bldg appl showing the railing posts sunk into the ground for support. His total disregard for my families safety is horrible. This type of work is inexcusable. If my review can spare someone else from having to go this this it is worth it.

Their initial visit included the owner Ian to review the project & timeline. There was a follow-up meeting to get more details with a project manager and one of the crew once our drawings were finished. We have done many renovations during our lifetime and we knew immediately they were the company we wanted to work with. We just needed to finalize the cost before the final decision. Our final decision came down to a reasonable cost, timeline and the fact that they had a dedicated Project Manager for the job. They also had an office manager to help facilitate the entire process. Everyone we worked with on their team was amazing, our project was challenging as they worked in difficult ocean facing conditions, 2 & 3 stories high throughout the winter. We had extremely large slider doors that needed to go up 3 stories, handled without an issue as well as spiral staircase installation, which was far more complicated than spec'd out by the Manufacturer. The entire IS Hager Staff are proactive and cost effective problem solvers, which kept many items off our "worry list' and was much appreciated. The Staff had a "can do work ethic" throughout all phases of the project. The entire process from contract, billing, construction and project communication was 5 Star. The crew led by Program Manager Brian worked through all obstacles and were extremely professional. Brian was here just about every day making sure the crew knew what to do and we were kept informed of what the plan was for the day. Brian was always reachable by text or phone for any questions. After meeting with a couple of designers and contractors, I knew John was the one I was going with. From the earliest stages of the project he was prompt, extremely organized and best of all, attentive to what I actually wanted. John and I worked to design my dream kitchen within our budget and he returned with a binder with renderings and detailing every step of the process (all before I actually signed my contract with him). This was important as the project was to be started and completed during our absence from the Cape during the winter months. I made several additions and changes along the way and even decided to have him renovate our 1/2 bath while he was working here, as well as build a hall entry area. John was in touch throughout the entire project, sending pictures frequently and communicating whenever there were choices or issues to discuss. My husband and I returned to the Cape in late May to the completed kitchen, 1/2 bath, and entryway and they were everything I'd planned and envisioned. John's work is beautiful and he pays attention to every detail. I'd very highly recommend John Clark for your renovation needs on the Cape!
