Our 17-year-old miniature dachshund is going strong, and our vet keeps saying how healthy our dogs…read moreare. One reason, I think, is that we selected puppies with good bloodlines from good breeders. We've known Jeff and Karyn for 17 years, talked to them at shows, watched their dogs, heard about their careful breeding for health (and conformation), and listened to other dog people talk about Wagsmore's standards. Just last week at the SF Cow Palace dog show other dachshund exhibitors were praising Jeff and Karyn and their dogs. These are good breeders. They are alert for genetic problems and match up bloodlines to have healthy puppies. They know each of their offspring, can talk about the puppies' personalities, they play with them, and they care about the quality of potential homes. If you're looking for a miniature long hair dachshund (the best type to have!), Wagsmore is a good place to check out. They don't always have puppies, but when they have dogs available those puppies will have a great shot of being long-lived and happy.

As busy as the clinic was, I know they worked overtime to save our cat. When we decided that it was time for our precious Arlo to cross the rainbow bridge, Dr. Boyle kindly guided us. I could not ask for better care for our cat or support for us. If you need emergency care for your pet, I recommend you call the clinic before you come. If I could give them zero stars, I would. We got a wonderful charcoal lab from Circle B in 2016…read morewhen they were a smaller breeder. We decided to get another lab puppy from them in 2020. We put money down on a litter to pick a female puppy that was born in January 2021. We had first pick of our female puppy out of the two females from the litter. We went to pick her up when she was ready to big enough to leave, the other female puppy had already been picked up. A couple of months later, we discovered by looking at pictures, they had given us the wrong puppy, the puppy we did not pick and did not want because she was too hyper. How does that happen when there are only two females in the litter. We did not say anything for a while, because we knew that we had to keep this puppy now, because the other one was gone. When I finally sent a letter to Cassandra, the owner letting her know how upset we were, I never heard a word, nothing acknowledging the mistake or an apology even. We just took our dog, who was now 4 in January to the vet, and she has to see a specialist because the vet thinks she has retinol neuropathy. When you pay a breeder that much for the dog, they should make sure you get the dog you picked and do sufficient testing to rule out potentially serious genetic defects. I will never buy another dog from Circle B and I certainly will never recommend them to anyone I know. Horrible!

I had a golden retriever before him, and I have never had as amazing an experience at a dog daycare, boarding, grooming, etc place as Big Valley. It is evident the staff absolutely love animals and put such care and dedication into ensuring every dog, cat, etc is not only safe, but having the bestest of times. I'm moving to the Boston area, and one of things that makes it hardest to leave Poulsbo is that Pippin is parting ways with one of his favorite places in the world. I'll forever and ever be grateful for everyone at Big Valley. I broke my leg a few summers ago and they were SO accommodating for me and Pippin, it melted my heart. Keri, Winter, Emma, Tapanga, Dayna, Nicole, Emily, Sarah, Hailey, Ava, Grace, Cal, Dylan, Megan, Keeley, Gideon, Meadow, and anyone else I missed - thank you all SO MUCH for being the best extended family for Pippin. You'll forever be part of Pippin's pack, along with all of his other furry buddies there. We love y'all, and honestly I'd recommend Big Valley Pet Resort over any other place I've been (even non pet related). They are the best, and I just hope Pippin's new place in Boston is at least almost as good :). Forever in our hearts.
