Food has been great but service has been mediocre, whereas the food has always taken forever to arrive... i do recommend the place as long as you're not in any rush. I love the potato/spinach/egg/tomato dish. Forget the name. Especially excellent with the cholula hot sauce! read more

I tend to be as positive as possible when reviewing establishments. That said, this was one of the worst restaurants I've ever visited. The facility was unpleasant. One person in our party had water dripping on them from the overhead air conditioning vent. When we told staff, little was offered to help the situation. We finally rearranged our seating ourselves. The tomato soup was terribly salty and overly sweet as well. Much of the lettuce on sandwiches and in salads was dark...beyond wilted and the salad was warm. Seriously! I've never ever had a serving of room temp salad before! (Keep cold foods cold and hot foods hot is a basic principle of food safety!) And the chicken salad croissant contained almost no chicken salad. Our waitress was minimally attentive. The place was dirty, depressing, and clearly lacking in managerial oversight. I wish I'd trusted my initial impression and left after stepping through the door. Eat there at your own risk. read more

My wife and I go to Perkins a lot and we tip real well. Today we went and the broccoli was almost raw and dirty tasting with a few black spots on it. The potato was barely warm and hard like was not cooked very well. The waitress did take the potato back and warmed it up with it was still not soft not cooked well. She said she would talk to the manager but manager never talked to us. Anyway this really turned me off!!! read more

I can't speak to the food, but most assuredly the way they do business. We were tourist in town for the weekend and I was having a diabetic moment (my fault for waiting so long to eat, I'm a newbie to this life) so we raced up the street to the first place we could find. 25 minute wait, no problem if I can just get a glass of orange juice the wait is no problem. I explained my issue. NOPE, you can't have anything until you are at a table. I'll pay now, add it to my bill anything PLEASE! NOPE, nothing until you are seated. THANKS for caring. We drove 3 minutes to the place we went the day before and the waitress almost jumped tables to get OJ in my hands before I could get to a table. Stopped at the Ponca City, Ok. restaurant on June 1, 2017, No one came to seat us so we seated ourselves. When waitress FINALLY arrived, she took our drink order but no set-ups. The wait for service was not too long and the food was good. They serve no bread or rolls, which was o.k. But we had to round up someone from the kitchen to get our ticket, and the waitress they called to see who served us had already forgotten where we had been seated. Service is on the decline as we have stopped there a year ago, and it was a much more pleasant and efficient experience. Won't stop there again. read more

Started off really good but then took a turn... They issue with this place is it is WAY understaffed! Bless the poor gals that have to work there. I saw one person with 15 tables! That is nuts. We got our food and were forgotten about. No refills on drinks, no how was everything and NO check. I watched people come in and stand by the hostess stand wait for a few minutes and walk out. There was nobody to even notice. Don't blame the waitresses they are running. Well the two on the floor anyway.Want better reviews? You need to hire some staff ASAP. read more

This used to be one of our favorite places to stop on our way through Ponca City. We remember when the old one was torn down and this "new" one was built. However, this restaurant is now in need of some up-dating. The ceiling is looking pretty black and nasty. We were in the establishment today while out on a little Mother's Day trek to casinos. We had the Shrimp platter and meatloaf. The food was good - not excellent, but good and served hot. There was a pie dish that was supposed to come with the meatloaf. My husband requested his pie be served before his meatloaf. The waiter said he would be back with it "in a minute" He left and went to turn in the order. He returned to the front at least once and disappeared again. I had to ask the manager to please remind the waiter that my husband had not gotten his pie. When the waiter brought the pie, he said he'd not forgotten us...but we clearly could hear the laughing and such from the kitchen...he'd forgotten. The second bad mark came when we asked the same waiter for more paper napkins as he was delivering the food. He said he would go get them for us. NEVER happened. We took tableware from the next table to unwrap to get napkins. Will we stop in again? Maybe in about 6 months...staff like that usually doesn't stay long. read more

Me and a friend stopped by this place one evening last week - was very quiet with perhaps four other couples there. We were seated and given menu's. After about 15 minutes I see a male server walk by and I ask, "Who's our server? We would like some drinks." His reply was, "Oh (fiddling with his pen and paper) I think I am." We ordered drinks and they came okay as did the ordering for an appetizer and dinner. Dinner came without appetizer so I asked, "Where's the appetizer?" Reply was, "Oh I'm sorry I forgot." It was cold. After we had finished eating, and by the way we NEVER saw the server again for refills and ANYTHING! I finally caught a female server and asked if I could get a check, she brought it to me. She was excellent! But the male guy obviously did not want to work - we won't be back. I usually go there once a week and the service is pretty good. I was there on a Saturday morning at 4 a.m., and there was a minimal staff. I had to wait more than 5 minutes before anyone would come out of the back to seat me. I ordered my eggs medium and the didn't even come over easy. Way too under cooked. I ordered white bread and was given wheat. I had to ask for my bowl of fruit that I ordered instead of potatoes. read more

They're only getting 2 stars because last time it didnt suck. This time, I ordered some chicken biscuit with gravy and scrambled eggs thing they've got and nothing came out well. The eggs were runny (scrambled eggs shouldnt be runny). The gravy had a bunch of lumps in it like it was skimmed right off the top of some nasty pot, and the chicken (which appeared to be hand breaded - kuddo's for it not being a frozen patty) didn't seem like it was cooked all the way. The texture was raw-ish and there was some pink when I pressed on it (not sure if it was from the ketsup from my hashbrowns though). I didn't get sick which is good, but I did get ripped off. I should have gotten pancakes. There wont be a next time though. read more

Waited 1 hour and 20 mins and never received our food. The restaurant wasn't that busy and we only had 3 people at our table. The waitress came over twice to tell us the cook said our "food would be out in 3-5 mins", and we waited another 15 mins before giving up and leaving. Horrible experience. read more

We went in about 11:10AM on a Sunday, first time we have been back in years. In years past they would have been backed up. They were, about 20 people waiting - BUT the restaurant was only about half full. The hostess walked around instead of tending to the station. We occasionally saw a waitress and finally figured out there were 5 or 6 on staff in front and probably a couple of cooks. One party in front of us was a family of 9 and they were finally seated. Before we were seated (about 15 minutes later) they left mad. Apparently they we were ready to order but the waiter wouldn't take their order until he had their drinks which seems never came. On the way out the man complained loudly to the manager they had waited for over 30 minutes in a half full restaurant before being seated, knew what they wanted and the waiter refused to take the order. That set the tone for us. Our waitress did come quickly with coffee and menus but was another ten minutes plus before she returned to take our order. I could understand if they were busy - BUT THEY WERE NOT! Then it took another 20+ minutes for the meal to arrive. In fact I highly suspect most of the wait staff gathered in the back between forays out to see if anyone came in. Our order finally came and the food is good - nothing exceptional. In all we were there a little over an hour just to get breakfast. In a restaurant like this 30-40 minutes tops should be the norm. It appears this place has a morale problem. The staff seems friendly with the customers, but the lethargic way they serve and hide out in the back tells a whole other story. Its been years since we have been there and will be years before we go back. Cobbs up the street is a MUCH BETTER and FASTER restaurant! read more

The food is okay at best but the service is terrible. If you're under 40 they pretty much ignore you. They drop the check and run at the same time as your food. So if you want dessert you have to get it yourself from the counter. The last time me and my girlfriend went they charges us full price after we gave them a coupon. Then when we confronted them about it they tried to tell us our math was wrong so we pulled out our phones did the math in front of them so they had to admit they were wrong. They claimed they fixed the bill but I got my credit card statment and guess what they didn't fix anything. This place is a scam. read more

Terrible. What was supposed to be a healthy breakfasts entrée ( mushroom an spinach scramble) turned into a plate full of grease an fat. Upon first opening up the menu to look at the choices a pile of fried chicken crumbs came Falling out an into my lap and all over the floor. That was cool. The server actually thought it was funny an proceeded to take it back to the host stand without cleaning it, nor did she ever come back to check on me .I see its 24 hours so with that being said I probably won't come back unless I'm intoxicated am craving a piece of pie, which is probably crap too. Food was okay. Service was slow, but okay. Our problem was with the cook. I was passing through from out of state with a small dog that needed to take meds, but was being picky. Asked the waitress to order a plain hamburger patty for him to take back to the hotel. You could hear the cook from the kitchen throwing a fit - "I've never had to cook for a dog before," etc. As he continued on our waitress told him, "Well, they're not from around here and they need to feed their little dog." He continued to throw a fit. I wanted to walk in the kitchen and remind him that (1.) He was not Gordon Ramsay, and (2.) as long as I ordered something that he had the supplies to cook and was willing to pay for it, he should cook it. He finally delivered the patty, but we could hear him say, "They better not be from around here." And then, believe it or not, as we were pulling out, we watched him walk out of the back of the restaurant, look at our car and see we were from out of state, and walk right back in through the front door. Inexcusable, rude, and more than a little disturbing. Obviously won't be eating here again as I live in another state, but you can be sure I will be contacting their corporate office. This was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had. My wife and I went in here, they had 4 waitresses and two managers working in front. I'm not sure how many people were in the back, except I know at least three, because we seen one come out and talk, one actually walked around and cleaned off tables and a third that left to go to Starbucks. We waited 45 mins for our food and they were not even busy. Then we asked for ketchup and our waitress walked off and never come back. Finally I cut into my omelet and the eggs were not cooked all the way. Will never go back. read more

I have been here at LEAST 20 times over the past year, and I can safely conclude that no one should EVER eat here as long as the current people run it. I keep coming back with the hopes that "maybe THIS time, it won't be so bad." It's very rare that you get decent, nice staff and when you do, they quit or get fired within a few months. We even had one gentlemen quit right in the middle of serving us, which left us waiting for an hour, unsure of what had happened or what to do. Usually, the waiters take your order and then disappear. It doesn't matter if you say you'll be wanting dessert or not. You have to go searching for someone just to get a take-home box. And the food isn't a whole lot better. It's either undercooked, overcooked, or has SOMETHING wrong with it. Once, I even found a lettuce package price tag in my salad. When I asked for an application (to maybe see if I could help in any way, although I didn't say this) the manager was very rude and waved me off. read more
