Love this place! I was looking for a place like I used to go to in Baltimore. I posted on Next Door and several agreed. Timing and closeness drew me there today and I was not disappointed. Family run for 20 years! read more

Years ago this store was up the street from their current location, across from the DQ. I went in one day with a coupon and the owner pointed out that I was using it on the wrong day of the week. It was in quite small print but fair enough, though. He seemed annoyed, which was what offended me. I did not go back in that store or later to their new location in Trappe Shopping Center for years. I do care about where I shop and I do support local businesses. My spend on non-vet related dog supplies is about $1-2,000/year, varies on how many dogs I have. I have a dog who has allergy issues. Against my better judgment, I stopped in the new location to see if they might have a treat that was hypoallergenic in one way or another. I looked for a while and found nothing. I asked a helpful clerk who said no they did not. We discussed their dried sweet potato treats. I bought them thinking it would be worth a try. They were $18.99 for a bag of 8 oz. $38 a pound seemed quite high but I thought I'd try it, my dogs are important to my family. He liked them so I shopped on line and the manufacturer and Chewy sell the identical product and size for $6.99. I have owned businesses. I understand the overhead a storefront and staff entails. I also understand a reasonable market price with all sorts of different variables impacting retail pricing. Wholesome Pride Sweet Potato Bites Dog Treats 8oz read more

I have been here a few times since rescuing my Aussiedoodle puppy, Pickle, and every time I am beyond impressed! The employees always remember my dog by name and ask how she is doing. You can tell they genuinely care about you & your dog. Can't help but feel so welcome by everyone that works there, they are the sweetest group of people. The store also has these cute baked dog treats that look like real cookies & a great variety of products! By far the coolest pet store I have ever been to. My Pickle girl loves Perk Valley Pet Eatery! read more

Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful. Lots of high quality food options at very fair prices.

It breaks my heart to have to write a 2 star review as the store is very adorable and my sweet schnauzer Matthew loved it in here up until our last visit. The owners seem very lovely however after my last encounter with the older women who mange this establishment I am left with a bad taste. First, I was greeted with one of the older women not respecting my personal space and just shoving her way past me. No manners what so ever! This happened more than once throughout my visit. This left my sweet pup very intimidated as he is very attached to me and can sense when I'm uncomfortable or upset. The management ruins the whole aura of the store which leaves me no choice but to take a long break or no longer give them my business, Maybe they are working too far past retirement and should take a vacation. I deserve to be treated with respect as a customer as well as my dog. read more

PVPE has been our go-to for the past 13 years! The owners and staff are incredibly knowledgeable about the products they sell, and know our dogs by name. They offer an excellent selection of high quality products in a wide price range to fit every budget. Can't say enough great things about them! read more

First time in perk valley pet eatery. Staff is so nice and helpful. Since it was my first time there, they gave me a dog starter bag, treats, signed me up for their rewards and also gave me coupons. Very clean in there as well. If your looking for cat and dog supplies this is the place to check out! read more

Wanted a second opinion on dog food for my mini doxie. My vet didn't really give me any positive feedback for any brand, just it was OK. Pet Earery was quite willing to go over all my questions, my only 2 visit so far were great, first for Carter he had a blast! read more

When expressing concern over my new puppy's finicky eating habits, a friend recommended I talk with Gordon at The Pet Eatery. I called before I went just to make sure he was working that day, and he answered the phone and said he'd be happy to help. When I showed up, we discussed what was happening and he gave me a full lesson on dog food options. I feel much more educated to make informed decisions He even sent me home with a few samples which my puppy devoured (for once). read more

Wanted to give a testimonial to your store and employees for the great curbside service we had. I placed the order online, waited for you to call and confirm and get payment info, then picked up the treats curbside. Thank you for continuing to provide excellent service so I can support your business and get high quality treats for my dogs. read more

Highly recommend Perk Valley Pet Eatery! So glad they are carrying the Victor Dog Food again. PVPE came through for us during the lockdown when no one else, including a certain online retailer, could. The personal service there is always great. Thank you. read more

The BEST pet supply store I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Not only do they sell anything you could possibly need for Fido and Mittens, but the staff is incredibly helpful. They will happily help you with selecting food, vitamins, training supplies, and toys. The store is clean and well stocked. My favorite aspect of PVPE is that they are a locally owned business and they participate in rescue adoption days and dog's night out. The owners and employees are giving back to our community and their passion for animals is evident in everything they do. read more

This store is the best! The ENTIRE staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. They always have excellent deals on products and coupons. But best of all, they have an awesome customer loyalty program. Most recently, I went in for a bag of hay for my bunny and received a free, large bag of rabbit food that I had earned. That was a $21 savings! I seem to earn a free item of that value a few times a year so it is a great perk! Shop local, shop small! read more

We adopted our puppy four years ago and have become regulars of the shop since then. Sue, Gordon and John are awesome - they know their stuff and always have a minute to field a question or two (or ten!). In fact, when my parents had trouble training their new dog, I sent them straight here for advice. The staff is super friendly and you can tell they love animals, Woody feels like a king when he walks in! For the service, I was willing to spend more to support a local store. However, I've realized that a few items I've purchased/seen at the big stores are the same price or even cheaper at PVPE! I'd recommend this place to any pet owner. read more

This is one of the best pet supply stores in the area. Always friendly service, good variety of supplies, and they have cute cats roaming the aisles. There's even a nice little sitting area with a TV and Keurig and pet friendly. I'd much rather give this local business my money! read more

Perk Valley Pet Eatery - Way better than petsmart - Pet Stores Near Me - Trappe, Pennsylvania

This is one of the greatest pet supply stores around! They love pets here and everyone is so helpful. It's a tightly packed store but well organized and tidy. The staff are very knowledgeable and ready to help. Though they have a wide variety of foods, unfortunately our pup is allergic to near all brands but for one they sell at a major chain store. So we come here for treats and misc things. Make sure you come by for the holidays because they always have great events going on. This past Christmas they had bring your pet in to take pictures with "the Grinch" and it was adorable to see the variety of pets with their families coming in. They frequent have tent sales or bag stuffer sales too. If you need pet supplies I would stop here to meet the great friendly staff and get the best quality pet items. read more

today was my first time walking into this store and let me tell you... with the excitement it brought me just taking one step through the door.... imagine if i was a dog! i spent over an hour in here because i thought i was in a pet candy store it is the cleanest of all pet stores i have ever stepped foot in, with so many different options to choose from i wanted to buy almost everything. It was full of color too. This store showed beyond organization skill set from there team. they show pride in their store and make their customers feel first! I just recently got a begal puppy and when i had shortly been approached by a staff member she immediately made me feel welcomed and had schooled me on all the different types of raw food to dehydrated food to puppy options and SOO MUCH more ! i am now absolutely obsessed with this pet store and will be returning ! thank you so much for all your help and i cant wait to come back ! read more

I have always been a big supporter of small businesses. The large chain pet stores cannot give the personalized attention and the high quality products that the Pet Eatery can. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. They are also knowledgeable and can always make recommendations when your pet has an issue. The birthday pawties are a huge bonus and Bailey the Dog loves their cookies and cupcakes. Take your furry friend shopping with you. You will be a customer for life! read more

We love to go to perk Valley pet eatery! The staff is super helpful, you can tell they love animals! For my two feline friends, their wide selection of affordable food, treats, litter, and their favorite, toys, is a must! If your lucky, you might spot their adorable, fluffy cat friend roaming around, or even play with their cats that you can adopt. I used to shop at chains like pet smart, but now I always go to perk Valley pet eatery for any of my pet needs. read more

Perk Valley Pet Eatery - Tigger, a very cute kitty ready for a new home. - Pet Stores Near Me - Trappe, Pennsylvania

I preface this review with that perhaps the woman working was having a rough day. (9am)I went in 2 weeks ago to buy a bag of dog food and the customer service was not very friendly. I usually have my dog food delivered automatically because of the convenience and so i don't have to carry a 30 lb bag. (Unfortunately I was leaving on vacation two days before my delivery was to be delivered, so I needed to find dog food in the meantime.) I came in with my dog in one hand. Upon paying and then not being able to find my name in their system we decided that I hadn't been there in at least six years. I explained why I ordered my food online so I didn't have to carry it and she got very snippy and when leaving not one of the three young men working there nor her even offered to carry the 30 lb bag to the car or hold the door for me. I'm all about shopping local at mom and pop stores but it would be nice to get great, Appreciative customer service in return. With that being said they are very well stocked store. And I will go and buy other dog items from there in the future. read more

A company that really cares about their customers and their pets.

My bulldog loves, loves, loves the salmon and the cod fish skin treats! Unique baked goods that are perfect for pup birthdays or gothca day celebrations. Dog friendly, knowledgeable staff, & a great community feel. read more

Great selection of products, including raw and specialty brands! Everything is a little more expensive than you would find online or at a smaller store, but the variety is worth it. The only downside is one of the staff members, he may be an owner of the store- he is condescending and unpleasant. If you ask for something he doesn't agree with he sarcastically responds. A great store if you know exactly what you are looking for and the younger staff members have always been very polite and helpful. read more

Been a customer of this place for a number of years now. In fact, I've seen them move locations three times now, and their current location in the Trappe Shopping center is by far their best! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and you will often find the owner walking around. You can bring your dog into the store--just make sure they do their business outside first! What I really like about this place is the types of dog food they offer. You won't find the typical stuff that "big box" stores offer and the food here is of much higher quality. Yes, you will pay a little more, but as far as I'm concerned, my dog is worth it! They also offer all sorts of treats and toys and throughout the year they offer dog friendly events. They do have a rewards program on dog food and what's really nice is that they will keep track of it for you if you want. The items you will find here are primarily focused on dogs and cats. read more

I'm pretty sure this place goes by Perk Valley Pet Eatery now. Regardless of what it's called I like going here a lot. The owners are always in there wandering around and talking to customers. Everyone who works here is outwardly helpful. My dogs eat a fairly uncommon brand of dog food and not only do they carry it but they have a rebate program as well. Great selection of treats and chewies, cute dog bakery, lots of harnesses and leashes. I'm really glad this place is around! read more

The greatest pet supply store around!!! Sue and Gordon are very helpful, knowledgeable and just overall great people. The staff loves pets and welcomes all with open arms. We love PVPE - besides great customer service they offer a lot of fun events for pets & are very community oriented!!!

Absolutely love this place! Staff is so friendly and helpful. Pictures with the Grinch were so much fun for our new pup :)

The place looks nice but as we waited for the store to open our kids were playing outside and an employee rudely told us we would need to get out of the way because she was setting up outside. There are nicer ways to treat someone. If you treat potential customers this way, we won't be back...which is a shame. Please share with your employees that kindness and courtesy go a long way. read more

Best pet eatery in the area. Always friendly and willing to help you find the right food for your pup. The best place to shop for pets! Not only is this locally owned but they support the local food pantry as well! Doesn't get much better than that. Some mentioned slightly higher prices, I'm not sure about that especially when you consider their rewards card and coupons. Having cute kittens run around the store - that's just a bonus! read more
