I wish I could give a rating of infinity!!!! Renee and Jim are absolutely wonderful people. We…read morereally were treated like family. We rented the cottage for a few months, on and off, and it was so comfortable and home-like. Super clean! Renee made sure we didn't want for anything, and she makes THE best pumpkin bread! They went out of their way to help with anything we needed. The property is beautiful and well kept and is close to anything you might need. The bed is amazingly comfortable with pillows galore. Ohhh and the jacuzzi tub!!!! It fits two people easily and is just heavenly. There's a skylight and plants which for me, was so relaxing. Looking to get married? Jim has you covered. (Found that out at the end) Do yourself a favor. Instead of staying at a large hotel, dealing with lobbies and other guests, stay in the cottage. PS. After having Renee's pumping bread, I wish we had opted for the breakfast!!

The bed-and-breakfast is beautiful and Pastor James is a very nice man. He was able to book me in for a wedding with a two week notice. So it was wonderful that he had time for us! The bed in the Royal Red Room was very comfortable, multiple types of pillows are provided so you can pick the one that best suits your needs, and the bathroom is very well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Virginia is a lovely host - present if you want her to be, and absent if you don't, which is something some other B&B's haven't figured out. :) The Stone Mansion is in a convenient location and much more comfortable than the hotels in the area. We can't wait to have a reason to stay there again!

When I used my phone to see our lodging options, I resigned myself to sleeping somewhere resembling low income housing. Then I saw the B&B tab on TripAdvisor and the McNeill Stone Mansion B&B was presented with beautiful rooms just across the street. Gary and Virginia were very accommodating to our up in the air schedule, the rooms and mansion are beautiful, and the breakfast is fantastic. Take the time to get to know the history of the home and look through the numerous before and during photos of its restoration. I don't know when we will be back, but we will be back. I apologize for the photos. My next review should be of the image handling of an iPhone. I'm tired of fighting the image rotation.

What a fortunate turn of events for the four of us. Turns out that Pella is a very nice place to spend some time and our mini vacation was made doubly enjoyable by the extraordinary hospitality offered at The Cheesemaker's Inn. Rob and Kim have mastered the art of accommodation. Every need is satisfied. The rooms are exceptionally clean, tidy and well decorated. They provided a small but pleasant sitting room off the upstairs bedrooms where we could brew coffee or tea, snack on cookies, and help ourselves to refrigerated soft drinks while chatting or reading the paper. Breakfasts are something to look forward to at this inn. We have stayed at any number of B&B's and have generally been served a good meal from the kitchen. But Kim's skill in the kitchen is above par. Homemade bread? Yes. Garden herbs? Expect it. Fresh ingredients prepared and presented in a simple but elegant way? You bet. And best of all, their guest service is unpretentious and welcoming. It's as though you were neighbors from down the road or a relative from across town. Just a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

You'll be greeted by a heaping pile of home-baked oatmeal cookies AND an adorable & friendly pug-beagle named Jemma. The Blue Room on the second floor has a private shower and toilet, all very clean, and a comfy bed with armchair + mini-fridge. Self-service tea is right outside the door. Our weekday breakfast included lemon blueberry scones baked from scratch, oatmeal apple muffins (zucchini muffins the next day), and a giant, sizzling cheese-mushroom-onion-tomato frittata with coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, and gourmet teas. Oats and flax also available. Organic berries and cantaloupe. Will definitely stay here again if ever back in town... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The Blue Room has less natural light for great sleep, and the Yellow Room is bright and sunny. Christine and Doug were amazingly helpful with small things like printing off a page or two for the class I was taking in Iowa City. The frittata that appears on days when Christine isn't overwhelmed with her other work is amazing! They were extremely accommodating of my varying schedule, leaving coffee out beyond the typical clean-up time. I'll stay here again when I'm overnighting in Iowa City. Highly recommended, especially if you're in Iowa City for a short-term class.
