We had such a blast we invited 4 couples to join us the second time and we had the whole house booked. The place is full of neat decorations and history about the place. We stayed upstairs both stays which the upstairs rooms share a bathroom at the end of the hall. Dinner is fun especially when everyone is in character!!! That is the point of dinner to me, dress up a bit let loose and have fun. After dinner you will go out back and sing karaoke and drink. Such a cool bar to hang out and have fun in with friends or whoever is staying with you at the time. We will be back I'm sure! My wife and her friends are already planning a girls night!

I will admit that I had reservations about this place, as the reviews I could find swung wildly from 5 stars to 1 star. After experiencing it myself, I would not hesitate to go back in a heartbeat! Make sure you look at their book as well, as the sheer amount of work they have done on the place is awe inspiring. There were 4 of us, and only two of us could get off work early on Friday. My husband and I made it to the BnB around 4:20 pm, and had no problem checking in. We chose our room, and Jodi (the owner) even let us reserve a room for our friends who were coming later. There were light appetizers available on the porch, and people sat around and got to know each other. You have to understand, this a rural, small town Iowa BnB. If you go in expecting artisan appetizers, dinner, and breakfast, you will be disappointed. However, the food was NOT bad. For appetizers, they had three types of cubed cheese, crackers, carrots, chips, and a spicy dip. It was a pretty decent spread, considering we didn't expect to have anything! Jodi does a great job of greeting people, and getting to know them so she can assign murder mystery parts. In this event, YOU are acting out the parts in between your dinner courses. As in any event where you are an active participant, you get out of it what you put into it. We had an EXCELLENT time, as we allowed ourselves to have fun with the roles, as did the other guests. Food: The food was decent. I was expecting something way worse based on some reviews I had read. Some people are just too picky I think. We started with some really good bread rolls and butter, and small dishes of salad. The main course was a stuffed pork loin, sauce, rice and broccoli. It was good and we all cleaned our plates. Dessert was simple cookies and cupcakes. Is it a five star meal? No, but it was good! After the dinner theater, we were invited out to the coach house for karaoke and games. We didn't really know what to expect, but it was a blast! There were some fun lights, and Jodi has just about any song you could ever want to sing. We were all up on stage belting songs out for a few hours before we finally settled into our rooms for the night. The rooms upstairs are a bit cold, but I used one of the robes they provided and was perfectly comfortable. In the morning, we all got up and had breakfast. Jodi had some scrambled eggs made up and ready to go, and even offered to cook eggs to order for us. We were fine with the scrambled eggs and toast, and the huge variety of packaged sweets, and a few locally baked breakfast goods. It was a decent spread! My favorite part of the morning was Jodi showing us all the body elevator, and their third floor, which is still a work in progress. We all discussed that we want to come back when the third floor is finished and rent it out. It is GORGEOUS. We had an excellent time here and really look forward to coming back. There are a few small changes I would make that I think would elevate the experience even more! Suggestions: -Upgrade toilet paper in bathrooms -Have "real" plates and silverware for appetizers and breakfast -Ice cream or pie as dessrt for dinner -Cupcake or Tea Stands on tables for breakfast to help clean up/organize the breakfast bar -Eye masks available in rooms with lots of windows However, these are all so little that I this place definitely still deserves a 5 star review. We were excited as it was 5pm and they were open until 10 (typically on Saturday wineries are only open until 6). So, we went in, hoping to do a wine tasting and share a bottle on the patio. We were told we couldn't do a tasting since there was a wedding going on. Okay. So we tried 2-3 samples so we could order a glass we liked. The very few we tried were ok. We were at least able to pick one. Then we went to the patio. Photos of the view are attached. Beautiful view of an alley and someone's house and some cars. The best part is over our speaker we heard this couples entire wedding ceremony. We could see it through the patio doors too. Talk about uncomfortable. I'm thinking the winery should close to the public when they have a wedding ceremony going on - since we couldn't get the same service and had to listen to someone's wedding. What a strange experience. Good thing we never come through Sully, Iowa! Seemed like it could've been a cute place...if it closed for weddings.

This review is for the Wallaby cabin. This cabin supposedly has a bathroom with a shower, 3 beds…read moreand a kitchenette. The bathroom has a shower so small it is difficult not to rinse one's hair while applying shampoo. There is no sink in this room for brushing teeth, washing hands or face, etc. There is no mirror either, or hooks for towels or washcloths or clothes. There is also no heater. The cabin has no closet or any place to hang any clothes. There were several bugs crawling on the ceiling. The wall A/C could not help but spew dust, as it was coated with that on the filter and cover. The trash can had a clean bag, which occupants are required to leave in dumpster at checkout. When removing the bag, the stuck-on mess under it was appalling. The bed in each loft area had obviously been used and not changed, as the covers were in disarray and the bottom sheets not clean. The main bed has a zipped on plastic cover which the loose fitting fitted sheet will not stay on, causing occupants to end up sleeping on plastic. We purchased a blanket to go over it for the next night. We would not have stayed more than one night but, as we had reserved 3, it is not refundable. The tv is to the side of the immovable chairs, so that one must have head turned completely to one side to watch. The cabin has such a slant that a ball will roll by itself to the entrance side. All this for more than $350 for 3 night stay.

I am a newbie, so I am just learning all about what she does. There are different size options you may order from her menu, single size, medium size and family size. I got started on a freezer meal sale she had and I was instantly hooked. I bought a bacon cheeseburger meatloaf for my husband that he ate on all week (and loved!), some breakfast scrambles and individual servings of cheesy chicken broccoli quinoa. I instantly grabbed January's menu and was salivating at all the options. My husband likes more hamburger items, so we ordered a medium sized tator tot casserole. We requested our pick up time and when I got it, it was hot and ready to go with a family sized side salad. Again, a favorite of my husband's. I have also had her frosted sugar cookies at other events and they are tasty too. Not too sweet and oh so good! This is a unique and great service/business for our community. Hot, home cooked meals to go. Perfect for busy families, older folks, single folks, really, anyone. You don't have to get dressed up to go out and you can have a great tasting meal at home without the dishes or mess.
