Beyond being a total math wiz, Kaity is truly an incredible mentor. She has such a beautiful way of working with kids who are struggling - she is funny, kind, direct, supportive and thoughtful. She takes the time to really get to know each kid as an individual and incorporates their strengths and their interests into all her lessons. She is such a joy to be around. Her positivity is absolutely contagious. Thank you, Kaity, for all you have done for our family. We love you!

That one success then enabled me to have the confidence to then take on a pre-med baccalaureate program (during which she helped me with chemistry and organic chemistry). And now I'm rocking it in medical school! I would not be who I am today without the empowerment Kate gave (gives!) me; it's not just study tools and help with topics that stand out for me, but even more important, the way she helps me see that women can be (and are) awesome at math and science. That confidence is something she has instilled in dozens of young women like me and it's been incredible to hear from some of them over the years about the ways she helped each of us find our path, our voice, and our success in math/science!

Abby relates very well to young adults, my daughter said she covered a lot of information, explained it very well and kept the pace right at what she could integrate (given our short timeframe.) She was familiar with both SAT & ACT testing formats and gave her valuable tips which assisted her in raising her ACT score 3 points which put my daughter in scholarship range. I would recommend Abby to any student or parent needing assistance-particulary our experience with math. THANK YOU Abby!

As a tutor, I not only prepare students to reach their academic goals, but also serve as a mentor, helping them to discover their own ability to learn, persevere, and grow. I also provide strategies for academic success beyond high school, focusing on study habits, organization, and personal goal setting. Lessons with me are comprehensive, interactive, and fun. I understand that different learners need different modes of teaching; therefore, I tailor my lessons to students' specific needs. I am experienced in teaching for different modes of learning and learning disabilities. Lastly, I work with the student and their family, keeping parents informed (via weekly email updates) on their child's goals, progress, and homework, as well as our plan for upcoming lessons.

I have been thrilled with the assistance and teaching my son received from Scott - precise, persistent, insightful. My son enjoyed and loved learning from Scott. A little bit of humor and cheerful attitude helped too. My son achieved ACT score he hoped for and eventually enrolled in a college of his choice. My niece worked with Matt to improve her LSAT score - she achieved significantly higher score in a short time!!! She acknowledges that Matt's help was decisive in her better LSAT score. I am so very happy to have worked with Scott and his wonderful colleagues at North Avenue and I truly admire their expertise and the place they have created - it gives confidence and trust! Scott has built a really well organized and structured tutoring business. For me, this is a big plus as it has made their teachers and content more credible in a world of unreliable tutors who typically post their vague tutoring services on Craigslist (I know you've all been there). It's been really nice to call North Avenue Education 6 months after my exam and ask for some quick advice. The tutors never forget you and are always willing to lend a helping hand. A few pieces of constructive feedback: - Have a little bit of cushion in between sessions, so that you have time to review notes before a session or in the event your previous session runs over - Have both a structured and more free-flowing option when tutoring in english and writing. While these sessions were useful for me, I found them challenging at times, because I felt my instructor was trying to apply a tutoring methodology that didn't work for me. Be flexible! - Have open study space and/or office hours (which they do now, so yay! I am very excited about this.) All in all, I give North Avenue a 5 despite the feedback above, because I am really impressed with how much they care and want to improve their services. At the end of the day, that is the most important thing to me in a tutoring service! Thank you North Avenue!
