On 1/28, the receptionist called asking if I could come in sooner. I explained that I preferred a specific time of day, which was only available on 2/5. She said no problem and confirmed she would see me on 2/5. On 2/4, I received a call that I assumed was a routine reminder. Instead, the front desk informed me they could not see me because they *do not accept my insurance*. I was told I could pay out of pocket if I still wanted to proceed. I was beyond frustrated. I asked why this wasn't communicated sooner -- especially since I provided my insurance information nearly **two weeks in advance** during registration. The explanation I received was that they're "busy" and sometimes this happens. That response was extremely nonchalant and dismissive. What makes this worse is that they had already called me once to move my appointment earlier -- yet somehow my insurance was never verified until the day before my scheduled visit. If insurance information is required during online booking, it should be reviewed in a timely manner. Patients plan their schedules around appointments. Waiting until the day before to say, "We don't take your insurance, but you can pay out of pocket," is unacceptable and unprofessional. I pay for insurance for a reason. I had every intention of supporting this local African American husband-and-wife practice, but this experience was disappointing and disturbing. The front desk needs to do better when it comes to communication and basic administrative follow-through.

They still charged me $50 for doing basically nothing. When I got to the ER (after waiting there for hours), they did not even stitch me up and used skin glue instead to close the wound. The ER expressed frustration for me, saying that urgent care easily could have done that for me. So, I am pretty upset with my experience here and will not be back.

I don't have to worry about Dr Robison leaving...because he bought Family Dental last year. :) All the dentists I have had at Family Dental were excellent, but I must say that Dr Robison is exceptional. The best dentist I have ever had. I have had a lot of dental work done by him over the last two years (bridges, crowns, extractions, etc.)...so I think I have a pretty good handle on how he operates: He listens to his patients. He lets them know what he is doing at all times. No mysteries here. He does not recommend extraneous/unnecessary work. He willingly recommends getting a second opinion if there is any doubt about the best way forward. He works quickly with his excellent assistant Charlene...to get you in and out. I also recommend the hygienist Melissa. She is a pro, very thorough. Listen to her advice on dental care...she is a font of knowledge.

The overall attitude was unpleasant and unwelcoming, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected as a long-term patient. After two decades of trust and consistency with this practice, I expected professionalism, empathy, and clear communication. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below those standards. I left feeling unheard and deeply disappointed. I hope the office takes this feedback seriously, as no patient--especially a long-standing one--should be treated this way. Thanks to Dr.Patel for taking up the pieces and explain to me what needs to be done. Sadly to say I may not be going back to this office after over 20 years.

I called to get an appointment with them since I had been sick with sore throat coughing headache…read moreetc.... they did a TeleMed conference with me with a Doctor Who just kept on insisting that I probably have the coronavirus, I was just tested the day before and it was negative. But he made me come in to get tested anyway even though I had mentioned I'm pretty sure that's not what it is. When I made the appointment with them they told me that they wanted to do another Coronavirus test and I informed them that I had just had one the day before that came back negative. They insisted that I have another test and to drive in the back and someone could come out to swab my nasal cavity and do a rapid test.. In the back there was potholes, the place looked like the back of any crap hole that you might see anywhere, no signs, cones, no cameras etc. did not feel safe... actually thought I was in the wrong place so called and they said oh no, you're in the right place. Glad there were no car Jackers nearby. Anyway, the rapid test came back negative so they insisted that I take another test that they could send off for results, yeah another drive behind the business looking at dumpsters and homeless people, no offense. I told them that what if this is not what is wrong can you just see me and help me relieve my symptoms. I had to insist on a strep test which they finally agreed to. Even though the lady that swabbed me was very nice, as well as the one who took my nasal sample, she did not do an effective swab, when you swab for strep throat you swab the throat and the side, not run the swab back-and-forth over the top of the tongue which made me gag... and I did not have strep. The doctor did prescribe me two pills, but nobody came out to tell me what they were for, what the side effects were etc.... I just wanted to tell them I do not have a goddamn coronavirus! Unfortunately, they only came up with a pre-diagnosis which they thought was coronavirus and was not! But they would not let it go ...it's almost as if they wanted it to be that. I have an idea, since I passed the rapid test, why don't I just come in and get a real exam! I did pay for an office visit and never stepped foot in the damn place! I will not go there again, they might have some great reviews from people that felt better after they left there, but I felt like they were just trying to take my insurance companies money by offering test after test after test. What a disappointing visit! Not everybody that is sick has Covid!!!!!! It was literally like the McDonald's of urgent care, without the hot fries. UPDATE.... After I complained to the front office, the owner of the business contacted me and have me call one of the employees there named Dr. Romeo... Now HE was a pleasure to speak to... he acknowledged my concerns, and he listened to what I had to say. I think he was also very disappointed in my perception of the place, and the care that I received\didn't receive. He was not belittling, or patronizing, he seem to take to heart what I have to say about my perception. He also stated that they would work on the back to be more accommodating to the new testing "era". In addition, after hearing of all my symptoms and why they had to go through he was surprised that I had to go through it! Final thoughts said, he finally got me the antibiotic that I needed after reevaluating, and I felt he was very genuine. Mistakes happen, we can call them learning opportunities, and hopefully urgent care at Druid Hills learn something from this.

I was a bit nervous but once I was seen by Dr. Bezrah and he explained in detail how my surgery would play out, the possible risks, and various outcomes, I made the decision to move forward. After meeting with him, Angie sat down with me to explain the cost of the surgery and worked out a plan that best fit my budget to pay for my upcoming service. I'm three weeks out from my surgery and I am very pleased with all the work done as well as the post-treatment care I've received from both Dr. Bezrah and Michelle. They took what I thought was going to be a terrifying experience and made it seem like nothing at all. He even made a custom appliance to accommodate my small mouth.
