I briefly FaceTimed him so he could see her during the visit. The dentist abruptly said, "No FaceTime," in a curt manner. I completely understand if that is the office policy, but the delivery felt rude and there was no explanation given. The second situation happened during another visit when Dr. Z told me I could not be rude to his staff. I was very confused because I had no idea what he was referring to, and I told him that I hadn't been rude. He responded with something along the lines of, "Come on, I know you were." Shortly after, a staff member came into the room and explained that they had mistaken me for a different parent. Dr. Z did apologize, and I understand that mistakes happen, but the interaction added to the overall feeling that the environment was not very warm or welcoming. Because of these experiences, we have not returned.

Dr. Z is, without fail, so positive, encouraging, gentle and kind that my children (and me too!) are excited to go to the dentist each 6 months. Both of my younger kids had behaviors that impacted their teeth (ie. Thumb sucking) and he gave us advice, coached them through it, and even sent presents when they "met their goals". All around fabulous - every child should be so lucky to have such a great dentist!

I rarely leave reviews, but this was one of the worst dental experiences I've had…read more I initially came in for a routine cleaning and to establish a treatment plan. The hygienist was unprofessional, inattentive, and careless. Water was being sprayed all over me the entire time, and I had to repeatedly ask for a spit cup, which she never provided. Another hygienist had to step in to help, which was embarrassing and completely unacceptable. Oh and it took almost a hour to do my xrays. I even communicated to the office manager that I did not want that hygienist if I ever returned, and looking back, that should have been my first sign not to come back at all. I later returned due to a dental emergency to have a crown repaired. From the start, there was confusion about why I was even there. I clearly stated I came for a crown repair and to ask about a possible filling, yet the doctor documented that I was "upset" simply for correcting her. That note was both unprofessional and inaccurate and felt like an attempt to misrepresent me instead of acknowledging the mistake. During the procedure, I experienced intense sensitivity from the cold air and water. I repeatedly told the doctor it was painful and asked for adjustments. She refused and kept insisting it "had to be that way" instead of making even the smallest effort to make me comfortable. Rather than listening, she chose to argue and dismiss what I was saying. I eventually had to stop everything and request another doctor because I could not tolerate it anymore. The second doctor was no better. My mouth was numbed to the point where I could not move it at all and had to have my mouth physically opened. I was in pain for days afterward, which has never happened to me from a dental visit. After all of this, the final result was a crown that left a visible gap between my teeth. Before agreeing to the procedure, I specifically asked if the crown would eliminate the gap that showed with the temporary, and I was told yes. That gap did not exist before my crown broke, yet now it does. When I went back to address it, I had already requested not to see either of the previous doctors, yet they still tried to assign me to one of them or offered a provider fresh out of residency. At that point, it felt like there was no accountability at all. I was then told the gap was caused by the adjacent tooth, which makes no sense given this was not an issue before. This entire experience was frustrating, uncomfortable, and honestly concerning. Between the unprofessional behavior, inaccurate documentation, lack of care for patient comfort, and poor results, I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Then waited another about 17 mins for the dentist to show up - determine what kind of treatment I needed... just a regular cleaning... Then office manager walks in and tells me they are understaffed and if I could come back again for the cleaning... which is why I was there.... I scheduled it for the following Thursday around the same time. The hygienist that day was quite gentle & experienced so I was done in less than 10-15 mins from start to finish

Amazing Orthodontic Experience!…read more I am beyond grateful for the incredible work my orthodontist did to transform my smile. From the very beginning, the entire team was professional, patient, and caring. They explained every step, made me feel comfortable throughout the process, and always greeted me with kindness. THE CAR WASH DENTIST/"WE'RE NOT A CAR WASH!"…read more A decade ago, when I lived nearby, this was my dentist. Their building and furnishings weren't as swanky as they are now. I found out why yesterday. I was in town, so I called to ask if an opening was available for a cleaning, by itself. No x-rays, exam costs, etc. Cleaning only. They said yes. I asked again to be crystal clear on the cost. Told $220. Agreed. They said but not this week, not until next week but we'll call you. I drove the hour back home. As soon as I got back, they called with good news that an opening had appeared that afternoon. I asked again if a cleaning was possible a la carte. Told yes, again. I drove back. I asked if a cleaning was available, by itself. No x-rays, exam costs, etc. Cleaning only. They said yes. I asked again to be crystal clear on the cost. Told $220. Agreed. Upon arrival, I was told I had to complete 9 separate forms. I did so. One of the questions asked what name I like to be called. I entered "Alex." Receptionist then stated that the best deal for me would be to pay $399/year for their annual maintenance package. I declined, indicating I no longer live in town. I waited in their swanky reception area. After awhile, someone called out "Come back, Ivan!" So much for asking me what name to be called. No biggie. I enter the room and remove my jacket. There's a hook on the wall with a garment on the lower hook. I look at it as the attendant tells me I'm afraid there's no place for your coat. I look at her. She says well you could put it there. I do. The dentist walks in and, while behind me and apparently speaking with the other lady, asks "What's your complaint?"; I didn't even know she was speaking to me, as I'd just filled out 9 forms indicating none. She repeated herself and I realized she was speaking to me and I said, oh no complaints I just want a cleaning. She says well it's been 9 years since you've been here, so I need an x-ray. I said "But I have no issues or complaints, I specifically asked if you did cleanings alone and was told yes." She said why don't you want one? I said because I don't want to spend the extra money unnecessarily on that, in addition to the cleaning cost. She asked if I'd like her to show me prices. I said no thanks. She then offered me the $399/year package. I said no thanks, that was offered by the receptionist. She said "We're not a car wash!".... Well, that's good because I'm not a car. I explained that I specifically asked this twice on the phone, and that if this is their policy then they should make sure that it's clearly conveyed by staff. She dismissed that as not an issue. I said it is an issue, as I will now have done two hours of driving for no reason. She dismissed the miscommunication as not really being their fault and then asserted that she cared about my dental health and wouldn't I like to spend more money? I see why their offices are swanky now. It's an upsell center that behaved just like the car wash earlier in the day that insisted the wheel wells wouldn't get washed unless I bought the more expensive undercarriage package, and then repeated the offer after I'd declined. Scammy, dishonest, disrespectful, rude, irresponsible, poor communication to put it mildly, bait and switch.

I initially saw an endodontist who diagnosed me with issues involving my two front teeth--one tooth…read morethat needed a root canal, and the other tooth that needed retreatment. This doctor ultimately said one of the teeth might need to be extracted later on. Because it was a significant and concerning diagnosis, I told him I would like to get a second and third opinion, which he fully supported. After some research, my husband found Modern Endodontics of Buckhead. Their website emphasizes "advanced technology," "compassion," and a "patient-centered approach," which gave me hope. Per their website:..."they (modern endodontics of Buckhead) care for each patient from the first phone call all the way through follow-up treatment ....." Unfortunately, my actual experience was far from what they advertise. From the first phone call, the front desk staff--particularly one individual--was very dismissive and unhelpful. I got the distinct impression that she was more focused on her upcoming vacation than trying to help me. I explained that I was seeking an unbiased third opinion and that I already had two recent 3D scans and doctors' notes. However, she was adamant that Dr. Raymond required scans taken only in their office. I completely understand that some providers prefer to use their own imaging systems, and I even offered to take a third scan, if needed. All I asked was that the doctor at least review the scans I had already paid for before making that determination. I also tried to find out his availability to come in for an initial consultation. However, she did not want to put me on the schedule until the doctor had reviewed the documentation I provided. I put effort into sending all these images and information without knowing whether I would actually be seen. Per Modern Endodontic's of Buckhead's website, "Dr. Raymond starts by reviewing your medical history, taking radiographs (x-rays), performing an oral examination, and doing diagnostic tests." Instead, it seems Dr. Raymond reviewed a report from one of my prior doctors--without ever speaking to me, reviewing my scans, or examining me in person. According to the receptionist, Dr. Raymond's recommendation was to extract both teeth and that he didn't want me to have to spend extra money. I was very confused. How could a provider make such a serious recommendation without even examining the scans they insisted were necessary, let alone evaluating me in person? And I much rather keep my teeth as long as I can and spend the money. Making a diagnosis without that interaction is not thorough--it's dismissive. When I asked how he arrived at that conclusion, the receptionist simply said, "He can just tell." When I mentioned that another endodontist believed a root canal was still a viable option for one tooth, she responded, "I don't know. That's just what he said." Trying to get any clarity or meaningful assistance from the front office was frustrating and demoralizing. In the end, my husband pointed out this may have been a blessing in disguise. And I agree. I wouldn't feel comfortable entrusting my dental care to a provider who refuses to review available information or make a diagnosis without seeing his patients-- and whose staff treats patients with such disregard. And I saved $450 for the consultation. Unfortunately, my experience with Modern Endodontics of Buckhead was unprofessional, unwelcoming, and disappointing. I cannot recommend this practice.
