My wife and I had an awful experience with Toyota Bountiful's staff. I couldn't believe what my wife was texting me. So when I caught up to her the sales person was still playing games. We tried to get assistance from the general manager, which was difficult, too busy to talk to us. When we were able to talk to the GM we caught him in a blatant lie. Lucky we were not buying a car that day. I have purchased a two vehicles from them in the past, but will never return. There are too many other honest Toyota dealerships out there to deal with Toyota of Bountiful. read more

I'm writing this review in hopes that no one looking to buy a car from Toyota Bountiful ever has to go through what I went through. I went in 2 weeks ago looking to purchase a used, 2007 Subaru Forrester. Before I purchased it, I mentioned that I was going to take it to a third party mechanic to double check. The Service Manager happened to be right there while we were talking about it and TALKED ME OUT OF DOING SO. He told me I didn't need to take it anywhere else- stating, amongst other things, "the car wouldn't be on the lot if it wasn't safe". The day after I got the car home, I could smell burning oil. I took it to 2 separate mechanics who both deemed this car NOT to be safe due to a fire hazard, and pointed me in the direction of a detective who works on these types of cases. In order to get the necessary repairs, I'm looking at a minimum of $800- with actual complete repairs upwards of $3,000. Once I got this info (Less than 24 hours after the time of purchase) I reached out to the dealership to see if we could come to a compromise- and either split the cost of repairs, or let me bring the car back. I was on hold for upwards of 40 minutes each time only to be told the car was sold as is and no refunds or repairs would be offered. Not only were they dishonest and misleading, it is more than apparent that customer service is not their number one priority. Please share this post to prevent other people from being taken advantage of like I was. There are dealerships out there who care about the safety and wellbeing of their customers THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. BUYER BEWARE!! read more

Just before we purchased our used advanced Prius, we came by to get it inspected. They did a good job inspecting it but they did leave us hanging when we first pulled up and just kind of left us standing there for a good amount of time wondering when someone would help us or where to pull in even. Overall, a good experience and we're glad we got our car checked out by the Toyota dealership but they're not necessarily attentive. read more

update on a previous review with some frustration of a car buying experience. I received a call from Corey who is the sales manager. We talked about what all that had happened. He offered to pay the remainder of the balance that was owed for the car they bought from us, that was caused by interest accruing before the bank had received the check. He apologized for the lack of sensitivity with the return of rental and the lack of clarity of the why the remaining balance was there and he cleared some things up for us to have better understanding of what had happened. we really appreciate the call and him trying to make things right. We are very grateful. We understand things don't always go smoothly and tried to be understanding but as things stacked up, it was hard to and we finally got really upset. After talking to Corey and him helping us, we are pleased. Hopefully we can get our clear bra fixed and just have a better experience from here on out. read more

I was happy with my purchase at first but all these bumps in the road will definitely have me going to another dealership in the future. The free car wash is a joke!!! because when I brought my car home that day from purchasing it there was fingerprints everywhere so how new does that look? It just made my car look very dirty, so I cleaned it myself. Yes my car is over priced and it came with a scratch that they are going to fix because it is from them but it will take a week in their shop. In addition, when they called me to schedule that service which is still not done yet they kept calling my husband's phone and not mine when I am the one who purchased the new car. I feel like they have horrible customer service. I honestly would not recommend them to anyone. Even when I had my previous lease from them it took me 3-4 hours to get an oil change and that was with an appointment mind you. On April 25, 2018 my husband and I purchased our first Toyota Tundra from the Bountiful store. We were there until 11 PM with two small children waiting for a finance officer to become available. While we waited Mike? "Tex" (I'm not for sure of his name,) made an appointment with us to have the cover for the bed put on. Finally, at 11 we informed the staff we needed to leave as we had waited long enough. We agreed to come back that same week on Saturday to fill the paperwork out. We showed up on Saturday, the finance rep took great care of us besides the fact that he was late. We asked if our appointment for the bed cover had been made as we hadn't received a confirmation. We were told Mike was good at what he did, and he would take care of us. My husband made phone calls to confirm the schedule date, and not one phone call was returned. He showed up at the appointment time on Wednesday, May 2. They did not have us in the schedule, and he had to wait even longer because the bed cover wasn't at the store. Finally, they installed the bed cover, and while they were giving the truck a car wash the driver drove the truck along the wall denting and scraping the paint. At this point we are feeling truly let down, but it only gets better. We are given a rental to drive while our truck is being fixed. While we are driving the rental we notice it does not have currant updated registration stickers. We text the assistant service manager, Brandon, he tells us we can bring the car back to them, and they will switch it for another vehicle. We wait two days for this other vehicle to become available, only to arrive and discover it doesn't have the third bench in it like we have requested. My husband is then told we will have to keep the car we have rented, and if we get a ticket it's "ok because Toyota will cover the ticket." Umm, excuse me I could be on the way to an appointment or work. I don't have time to get pulled over. Clearly there is a disregard for my husband, me, and our families time. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism at Toyota Bountiful. All our friends have asked why we aren't driving our new truck. By the time we get done telling them the entire story they simply shake their head and mummer how they will not be going to Toyota Bountiful to purchase a vehicle. Terrible experience. Purchased a used car from this dealership along with a 60 month 60,000 mile extended warranty. At 44 months the warranty had expired. was told by the warranty company that the in service date had been left blank and the dealership had to correct the problem. Went the rounds with many people there (after someone finally called me back). The sales manager pretty blew me off and was not very diligent in investigating the problem, feed me a story about how the warranty started long before I purchased the car. His correspondence ended with me by saying "we are going to terminate our business dealings with you." What a joke of a company. read more

Went in and spoke with a sales man about looking at a couple cars. Salesman stated one of the cars was still in SLC, so I stated no worries I can go to that location as it's only 15 mins away. Salesman gets up to go get keys for the other vehicle they had on site. Another man approaches and introduces himself as Juston the manager. He then states "I hear you are being rude" in a aggressive tone. I thought he was joking so I awkwardly starred at him. I than asked him to explain how I was being rude and he stated because I said I would go to the other dealership to look at the car that the salesman told me about. I was patient and politely told Juston this must have been a misunderstanding and in no way was I rude. Juston then changed his attitude and started back pedaling stating it must be the employees fault, he is just new. Never once did he apologize for the way he spoke to me. Then they have the same salesman bring out the car to us! So I politely confronted the salesman and asked him why he would tell his manager I was being rude. The salesman said he had no issues with me and wanted to know what Juston said and gave off the impression he was frustrated as this is Juston's normal behavior. Terrible Terrible Terrible. We've all had up and down experiences with car dealers before. You take it as part of the game they play, whatever. Tonight was different. Tonight was on a whole different level. Tonight was Epic!!!! Essentially they offered me a car for $18,500. I hang out in their lounge for a minute to do a little research. An hour later I decide it's a good deal so I say alright, let's start talking about the process of how this will all work out. They then give me a new price of $19,800. What? I explain to the manager, that I'm not paying any more than the original offered $18,500 and that quite frankly, I'm very upset that he just wasted an hour of my time. He then proceeds to KICK ME OUT OF THE STORE!!!!! I'm still trying to process this in my mind. I'm calmly explaining to him that I'm mad because he baited and switched me, and he stops me mid-sentance and tells me to get out. I am blown away. Is it possible to give zero stars above? read more

So I started looking for one online for a few weeks and most salesmen I spoke with were all typical sales tactics & tried steering me into cars I didn't want after I said what I was looking for or had asked about a specific one I saw. After a particularly frustrating encounter and the need to self isolate I called this dealership and asked to speak with a female sales associate. Tiffany Verig picked up the call and spent a week finding me exactly what I was looking for. I sincerely appreciate her patience with me & giving me a good deal to keep it in my price range. We went here once for regular maintenance for a company car. Since then it has been 3 years and Toyota bountiful has proceeded to annoy us with maintenance reminder for a car we don't even own and have sent constant advertising messages. We have called them at least 20 times over the past several years and have tried to get them to stop sending us junk. We have emailed their corporate offices and legal teams. Everyone has said they would remove us yet here we are. Never go to these guys for anything. read more

My husband and I are not quick to make big purchases. We are careful to take our time with researching our options. We decided to checkout the inventory at Toyota Bountiful, and were particularly interested in test driving a 2011 Venza with low miles. From the get-go, we were CLEAR that we were not ready to purchase that day, and just wanted to take this vehicle out for a spin to compare it to others we had previously driven. The sales rep we worked with (Craig Vierig) was eager to help us when Scott Argyle was attending other clients, but was extremely aggressive with his sales tactics, and become very belligerent with us after we had finished the test drive and didn't buy. Shame on us for not walking away when he ripped through us for about 10 minutes - in front of our young child! Not sure if other customers have experienced poor service with Craig Vierig but he is NOT A PEOPLE PERSON. During our time at the dealership, he continuously griped about his own management and other employees, and in fact reprimanded a younger employee in front of us while we were there. So our overall experience was bloody awful. We left feeling bad and will never return to Toyota Bountiful solely because of this man, Craig Vierig, which is too bad because we have been in before and other sales reps have been much more courteous and respectful. read more

I knew their service department was awful, but this just confirms to me that the entire establishment is no good with customer service. I looked at buying a used natural gas vehicle that they had in stock, and (of course) they offered me next to nothing for my vehicle. I politely told them that it wouldn't work for me. The next day, I received a call from the "sales manager", asking me why the deal didn't work. Apparently, their only tactics in salesmanship are attempted flattery, and cutting you off in every sentence, so as to keep you from getting your point across. Absolutely atrocious! I intend to call the supervisor, and inform them of the terrible way that their "sales manager" treats potential customers. read more

I was in SLC to help my sister buy a car and went through Truecar to get quote and guaranteed pricing on Toyota Rav4's and Honda CRV's. After getting emails from three dealerships each, I went to test drive and make a choice. During this process, I received another email, this time from Marquis Blade at Toyota Bountiful. I emailed him back and told him that I was already in the middle of the process and, if I decided on a Toyota, would contact him to see if we could get a more competitive price. We decided on the CRV and I notified all the other dealers of our decision. It's now been almost a month and I cannot get off the Toyota Bountiful mailing list. I have "unsubscribed" three times, have sent direct replies to Marquis and even called and spoke with him (twice). Each time, he has apologized and told me that it is an automated mailer and each time has promised to remove me from the list. I have put them on my Spam list and will never buy a car from them. read more

2016 Toyota Sienna - Beware This Dealership - Performance Bountiful! So this is the statement directly taken from the Toyota Bountiful Website with respect to its "ToyotaCare" program they offer you when you make a vehicle purchase - verbatim: "As part of the Toyota family, your exceptional ownership experience starts with ToyotaCare*, a no cost maintenance plan with 24-hour roadside assistance. The ToyotaCare plan covers normal factory scheduled maintenance for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. 24-hour roadside assistance is also included for 2 years and unlimited miles." A little further down the webpage it states the following: "Toyota-trained technicians will help you fulfill maintenance obligations and help improve your Toyota's overall performance while keeping a complete history of maintenance visits" Now... to my problem: My family, that being my wife and 4 children, keep in mind we have a 5 month old, my oldest is 8, so you can picture the headache as this mom is taking this van in for the ToyotaCare service appointment which was earlier this week, Monday June 4th 2018 to be exact. In a nutshell our front windshield on the van left Toyota Bountiful's ToyotaCare service with about a 16 in. crack running from the base of the passengers side all the way up the middle upper area. What had happened is at the time, performance had told my wife that the current wash was not available due to maintenance and such, so they gave her a free voucher to go visit a close by car-wash, so she did. The moment the van came out of the wash, she noticed the crack. The attendant at the car-wash was distraught and seemed nervous, my wife then explained that she was coming from Toyota. The attendant at the wash and his manager then inspected the window, and noticed a small rock chip right at the base underneath the windshield wiper, which is why the crack appeared after the wash. My wife and I reached out to Performance Toyota Bountiful and they basically said that the windshield left Performance un-damaged and that we would have to either 1. Pay Performance for a new window and all those associated costs, looking at about $1000 for a manufacturer quality window to replace. Or 2. take it up with the car wash. This was the response from both Steve the service manager and Cam Berny a sales manager. When I requested to speak with Kacey Waterbury, the dealership manager they refused to allow me to speak with him, that he was very busy and that Kacey's decision would reflect that of what I am being told. They did mention that had this happened at the Performance site in bountiful, then things would have been different, which from the beginning was an issue brought by Performance, their wash was down! What does the overall mission statement for ToyotaCare Performance Toyota Bountiful lead with... taken from their website The "Toyota family".., complete non-sense! I will be filling complaints with USAA, Utah Commerce, the BBB, and posting a complaint similar to this one via Facebook. read more

I purchased a SUV from Toyota Bountiful after my bankruptcy. I didn't have a lot of options with financing with other dealerships but Toyota Bountiful was able to get me approved for the SUV that I wanted. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I have purchased vehicles from other dealerships and this was the first time I have purchased a vehicle from a dealership and didn't feel pressured. I have owned my car for almost a year and I still come and get my car serviced at the dealership. They are fast but detailed. They also clean my car inside and out at every service. I bought my car on Wednesday and was told the paint would be fixed the next day and ready to be picked up. On Thursday it got cleaned, but not fixed. On Friday I was told it would be ready at 5:00. They tried to fix the paint in house and couldn't do it. Friday night I was then told it was going to be fixed by an auto body shop. On Monday night the auto body shop picked up my car. After getting pictures on Tuesday night. I'm questioning if it was even at an auto body shop. The paint chip on the front was not fixed and looks horrible. I am extremely disappointed with the service and honest communication. I feel lied to and wish I never would have done business here. read more

Worst shopping experience ever! I have purchased Three other Toyota's, and this by far was the worst. The Salesman I had was very unprofessional and I knew more about the cars then he did. I was trying to be sold very high pressure on a lease, that I said multiple times I was not interested in. My keys were taken by the salesman when he went to "check my VIN" and never given back to me, until I had to demand them. The inventory here is also not very good, was able to find much better inventory at other locations. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. read more

Called and asked if they had the part I needed and they confirmed that they did so I set an appointment and they told me I would be without my car for up to 90 minutes. I dropped it off and came back an hour and a half later even though I didn't receive a call. When I got there they said they didn't have the part so they had people on route to get it and that it would be another hour. Fine. 5 hours later I hadn't received a call and I wasn't forwarded to anyone until I asked to talk to the manager. Then I go to pick it up and they couldn't find my paperwork. horrible experience with distrustful/lying sales people. I was buying a new car for my senior year of college as a gift from my dad. We had a nice used Toyota Camry picked out with low mileage and a decent price. We arrive to the store and they seemed nice and helpful. However, once we started the test drive things started to be a little fishy and set-up. I do not remember the name of our sales guy, something like Marco.Anyways, about halfway through the test drive me and my dad are saying how the car drives well and this would be perfect and suddenly our sales person get a call from his 'boss'. He says, "well it looks like they just sold this car to a young couple back at the store, but since we are driving it you guys should get first dibs! Let's head back there right away so you guys can be the one to get this car!" UMM? Fishy right!? So we get back to the dealership and some other guy comes running up saying that the couple just bought it and are about to take to and drive home with it. But, if you pay $1,000 more than the asking price you guys would get the car and not the couple. THERE WAS NO COUPLE. it was a huge gimmick trying to put pressure on us to purchase the car right away. They were entirely rude about the whole thing when we called them out when we asked to speak with couple. We tried to leave multiple times and they would not let us leave the location. Forcefully guiding us back to our chairs. We finally got so fed up with these sharks that we ran out the door as soon as they went to go "speak with the other couple about backing out of the deal in the back room". Never going here again. Horrible people with illegal practices. Bait n switch. Nice Try. read more

We had an amazing experience at this location. Juston was a great representative and super informative. He and weston were really nice and i felt like they genuinely cared about me and my family. They gave me an amazing deal on my trade in and just really took care of us. Dan was our finance officer and gave us a lot of fifferent warranty options to look at and was very patient with us while we read everything. The only thing i would recommend would be to not push alternate financing or warranties so hard after getting an answer. All and all it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning here the next time we are looking for a car. read more

I would be very careful using this dealership. I called about on Audi they had for sale and was told it sold a couple hours earlier. Then saw the same car almost a week later but the price had increased. My husband at that point called and was told again the car had just sold. So I decided to call the guy I originally talked to and see what was going on. I was then told the car was in the shop. Then I asked why the price increase if the car was in the shop. I was told for every fix they are doing the price will continue to increase. I am not sure what the truth is but it seemed a little off to me. 5 Months. That's how long our truck was gone. If that's gotten your attention listen to the whole story. We bought a used truck; they said a new tranny had been installed. Two days later we found out it had NOT been installed. They install it and the truck shows ALL the problems hidden by the tranny issue. We take it in to their dealership multiple times they can't figure it out. They try to make us pay $600 for something they THINK might be wrong. We say NO WAY! They sold us this truck and it was not street worthy. The check engine light always comes on. We talk to the GM and he tries to appease us by saying they will take care of whatever issues it is having. They send it to the Chevrolet dealership to have them pinpoint what is wrong. We wait, and call, and call and they either never answer, tell us its getting worked on but not what's wrong, or never call us back. The first time Toyota had it they kept if for a month which we thought was kind of crazy but they kept it at the Chevy dealership for 5 MONTHS!! I don't understand why anyone would think that's ok! My husband and I have both cried actual tears over the whole situation and we are still dealing with it to this day. They never fixed it. Everything they did temporarily made it run ok but inevitably, a week or a day later the engine light is on. When I tried to get a refund because the situation is ridiculous the GM says no, they don't do refunds after 30 days. THEY HAD MY TRUCK FOR 30 DAYS???? They paid the payments for the time they had the truck which was something but it does not make up for the wasted time and heartbreak. When I told the GM they had sold me the truck saying the tranny had been replaced when it hadn't he said "That's what you say" like I was lying but he knew that was exactly the case. We call this dealership, specifically the Service Manager and Assistant and we never get in contact with them. They never call back. We have to go into the shop to talk to them, EVERY TIME. Which is A LOT because our truck is messed up. People at the dealer ship KNOW what truck we are talking about and know who we are because we have to go there all the time. We have STRESS about going to the building or even thinking about having to go now and I can hardly get my husband to anymore. They told us they would give us a list of all the parts the Chevy dealership replaced. We had to contact them multiple times for that (and go in), and we still have not received it and it has been a MONTH. We have a whole other review for the Chevy dealership too which I will briefly mention here: They told us our engine was fine ($100) when it started having RPM issues when we got it back (which were not present before Chevy took it 5 months ago) and a week later its almost died with engine shudders and the engine light is on. They are the ones that did most of the work on the truck in the first place. Now Toyota won't even touch our truck telling us to take it strait to Chevy because they don't know what they are doing. We recorded all the dates and lengths our truck was gone because we want to talk to someone about this company and this situation. I don't know why they would treat their customers like this because by this time (8 months later) all our friends, family, and neighborhood know about this dealership!!! I shopped around and every time I returned to Toyota Bounyiful the employees (even those who didn't directly work with me) greeted me and welcomed me back.
