Cody is fantastic. Shop is beautiful. Would highly recommend if you need any modifications to your vehicle in the San Antonio or Boerne area. Thank you!

Broken fender. Control box installed under the Jeep.

DO NOT use this shop. I hired this shop to install rock lights on my Jeep. Paid over $1,000 which later on I found out was a rip off. Cody installed them incorrectly and broke my fender. He installed the control box under the Jeep (Big NO NO). Whenever I would drive over a puddle or when it would rain heavily the rock lights would automatically turn on and it drained my battery, twice. Performance off-road wouldn't answer any of my calls so I messaged them on Facebook and explained my disappointment with them. Cody called me right away and I was thinking he was going to take care of it but NO he didn't take my message well and decided to call me, cuss me out, and insult me over the phone. Is this how you treat your customers?!?! Unprofessional

Although we had some challenges with the lift supplier, Cody kept me wanting to keep my business there and wait it out.

Let me tell you about my last trip to Lester's Automotive Repair, where they might as well have a…read moreneon sign that reads, "Why yes, we really are that good!" The last time I walked into a place that felt as comfy as their waiting room, I was at my grandma's house, and she was trying to feed me 'home-cooked' chicken casserole (which, by the way, looked suspiciously like it came out of a can but was delicious nonetheless). But back to Lester's: the waiting room! It's practically a mini-spa. Those Padded chairs while very worn are so cozy, I half-expected a massage therapist to pop out and rub my shoulders while I sipped on their free coffee. I was so relaxed, I almost forgot I'd come in to get an alignment with an appointment I just made minutes before I arrived. Now let's talk about the experts at Lester's. These honest mechanics are like the Gandalf of auto repair: They don't just wave their wrenches around and mumble spells; they actually *listen*., devise a good plan and then execute your decisions about how and what you want done do your vehicle. I firmly believe that if anyone rolled in with a "check engine" light, instead of trying to convince a customer to replace their entire engine (which, you know, might as well have been made of gold), they would be honest enough to explain that it was just a loose gas cap. Also, scheduling an appointment? Easy-peasy. The last time I had such a smooth experience was when I hydroplaned my car on black ice going 45 down a hill in a snow covered icy countryside's back road. But I digress. They get you in and out faster than teenagers clear a plate full of pizza. And not once did I feel like they were trying to pull a fast one on me with pricing. I was standing dumbfounded saying, "Is that all? Are you sure you don't want me to pay extra for that whole honesty thing because the guy up the street wanted almost double and you are also charging me what you quoted me at the start? Are you sure that is the price?" In short, if you want your car fixed without being bamboozled, and would like a waiting room where you can consider napping instead of scrolling through sad social media posts, head on over to Lester's Automotive Repair. Just remember, unlike my old jokes, this place *really* delivers! P.S. Why did the mechanic sleep under the car? Because he wanted to get up oily in the morning! Seriously though, one of the best auto mechanic shops in the area. You can't go wrong here!

My vehicle make/model/year is known to have transmission issues around 150k miles. A/C was working intermittently. Worked fine for the first few minutes of driving and then would turn off automatically. When it turned off, I would press the button, and the light would blink three times, and the a/c would not turn on. Online search resulted in several possibilities that created this problem. On Tuesday, the engine overheated as I was driving on 281. Tried all the normal stuff but overheated again within two miles. At this point, being stuck on the side of 281, I decided to get it to a repair shop. I first called Hendrix; however, they could not get to my vehicle for about 7 days as they were backed up. I then called Gear Guys and they said it would be about 5 days before they could take a look as they were backed up with work. My friends recommended Ritchie Automotive (they have used them for 15+ years). Called Ritchie Automotive, explained the situation and that it was my only vehicle. I had it towed to their shop and they looked at it on Wednesday. Called me with the repair quote and started work that day. It was ready on Thursday. Turned out to be a problem with the motor mounts and not the transmission. There was a very small crack in the radiator that allowed the coolant to leak out slowly so it was not noticeable (like a broken radiator hose would be). This caused the engine to overheat which in turn, cause the AC to turn off. Very pleased with the level of customer service, the work, the fairness in pricing and the honesty! Ritchie Automotive will be my 'go to' for any future repairs that I can't (or simply do not want to) fix myself. For what it is worth, they are a Christian based company. Customers please be aware that Alex will talk a great plan on the work they plan on doing to your…read morevehicle but the end result will be not fixing your issue and charging you thousands of dollars. I went in with my 2019 Jeep and requested them change my coils, spark plugs and boots due to a tune up check engine light. Alex said not to change the coils because they hardly ever go bad. He said he would fix my vehicle for less than it was quoted. I left the vehicle there for three days. They did the work and after $1200 the vehicle was still idling bad. I have never had issues with my Grand Cherokee before then. Alex then told me as I was picking up my Jeep that my water pump was leaking and my coolant was low. He recommended I fix the water pump. I had them buy an OEM water pump and replace it. $1200 later it was fixed. I took my Jeep home and a week later it was all of a sudden leaking coolant and oil. I took my Jeep to The Jeep Dealership and paid $500 for an estimate on the issues. Low and behold they said my water pump was leaking and I needed a new water pump. When I called Hill Country Automotive and spoke with the two owners they refused to pay my labor cost back because I was going to do the work again at the Jeep dealership to get things fixed right. The owner who started speaking in Spanish because he started acting like he was not understanding me, told me he could nit refund my money and I told him I needed my invoice because I was going to replace it at the Jeep dealership. I told him since it was an OEM part it did have warranty and if he wasn't going to be going to hold himself responsible for such horrible service since my water pump was still leaking that I was going to do the work at the dealership. I needed their invoice since they "ordered" the OEM part. Well he told me he would have to look for the invoice and go a few hours later. Mind you, I had done the work the week before but he could not produce an OEM invoice on my water pump. That was very sketchy because who knows if they even did buy and put on an OEM part. This entire shop seems to be looking to find "issues that suddenly arise" charge a lot of money for parts and labor and cannot get your car running properly. This garage is almost a scam shop. I gave them $2500 and did not get my problems fixed, no money refunded and ended up doing the same work to find the fix at the Jeep dealership in Boerne. Please THINK TWICE before going to this shop. If you do, understand that they will not be fair, will over charge you and you will have to pay twice to get your issue fixed. Sad but true.

I had a small electrical problem but all that was done was splicing wires and connecting them together. Would have been nice to have connectors back instead of just wrapping with electrical tape. I've had this vehicle for about 6 yrs now and nothing on this vehicle has falling off.

We arrived and were told if you book now there is no one in front of you except the car that is almost finished. We did and after about 15 minutes the car exits but they tell us that a truck that just arrived is going ahead of us. My wife is not happy! They finish the truck and we are placed in the service bay. A few minutes later I hear bang bang bang .... I can see the worker below our car with a hammer pounding to losen bolts on the skid plate. I called management and asked what is he doing? I said you don't need to remove the skid plate to change the oil. The young man came up to me and said that is how we do it. I asked with a hammer? I said that is not how it should be done. We are very uncomfortable the manager comes out apologizes and only charges us for the oil. Something is off! We leave and we notice our car always has a slight burn smell. We look under the car recently car has caked oil on the skid plate, the oil drain plug has 2 crush rings. The oil drain plug was installed causing thread damage hence a constant leak and the need for the extra crush ring. The skid plate is missing bolts this is very important as the skid plate on a BMW is also referred to as a stiffening plate and when bolts are missing and the others are loose this causes other issues due to torque, such as broken seals and gaskets which can also be found on our vehicle at this time. The plate was never meant to be removed for an oil change This ordeal took over 4 hours to screw up our vehicle a BMW X5 F15. I documented the event at the time. Services Oil change
