I'm new to Lake County and got some work done here. They seem like they do solid and honest work.

I had a oil and filter change and they got me in and out quickly. They checked other safety items on my car as well. Very friendly service!

The automatic trany in my Ford F350 diesel dually gave up the ghost 3 years ago. I had my truck…read moretowed to Transmission Exchange on my brother's recommendation. I'm so happy he sent me there! I told the mechanic that I intended to haul a 20,000 pound trailer with the truck and asked that the heaviest duty gears, clutches, etc. be used in the rebuild. They put together a fabulous trany for me! I've been hauling a 16,000 pound trailer for 2-1/2 years (about 40,000 miles) without any problems. Of course, I bring the truck in to them every year to have them check the trany for wear, adjustments, trany oil & filter change. They check the entire trucks running gear out when I bring it in...a big time, added bonus for me. It costs me about a hundred bucks...a good deal for what they do! I'd recommend this transmission shop over any other shop, nationally!

I'm very sorry I took my truck to Transmission Exchange for a trans. repair. It cost $3400.00 to…read morehave them go thru it with a one year warranty it didn't last a month before it started clunking into the next gears. The owner and I took it for a test drive and the trans clunked with him in the truck, he said he would have to look into it and get back to me, he never did so i just drove it. Before the warranty ran out I took it back to them, they said I needed a remanufactured transmission from Powertrain specialty in Oregon that trans so far has run great and of course that was another $4200.00, that was $7600.00 all together. So I recommend don't let trans exchange touch your car or truck, go to Powertrain specialty in Oregon and save the $3400.00. The other place to get a good trans is ETE Transmission in Wisconsin

I brought my 90,000 mile Ford F250 Super Duty in for a very perplexing suspension problem. At 50 -…read more60 mph it would develop a shimmy in the front so bad it became difficult to control. I tow a 38' fifth wheel RV, plus an equipment trailer loaded with my 12,000 pound tractor, this shimmy issue made towing impossibly unsafe. I had taken my truck to a Ford dealer in Santa Rosa, where I bought it. The service advisor booked it in for a 2 day inspection. The dealer advised that I had a major issue with the transfer case, tie rod ends and two tires. Their estimate, $7109.80. It just didn't make sense, so I declined. I took it to Lakeport Tire. Their service advisor knew immediately what the problem was. A stability bar as part of the front suspension. The estimate was, and accurately $1200. Which included a host of other services. The repair was done timely, totally cured the issue. My truck drives fine now, even towing heavy loads. I am very pleased with Lakeport Tire, their knowledge base and customer service. I'm so pleased that next up is my C8 Corvette in for yet its own perplexing issue. I trust they'll handle the repair as well as my truck.

Do they look like they need replacement? The other tires were bald. When I returned to the business and pointed out the error, they fixed it, and these are now my front tires. Lug nuts had nothing to do with replacing OR rotating them, and were a seperate issue that I have nothing to complain about.
