I've done business with Wally and his team for many years. His pricing is good - installations are professionally done - he runs his business very effectively so when you have an appointment, you can expect them to get it In and Out in a very timely way. Sounds like a solid 4-star review, right? Well they just Exceeded my Expectations and when you hear the story, you'll understand 5-stars. I had a premium Remote Start installed in my 4-Runner three years ago - I needed the long range and this CompuStar unit really did the job - I could start the rig from several blocks away. It has worked flawlessly for nearly all this time. But a few months ago, the 4-Runner developed intermittent starting problems - not just when Remote starting, but even with the key in - you would could crank and crank and it just wouldn't fire. I called Wally and he said it was very seldom the problem of the remote starter so I took it to Toyota. They put it on their diagnostic computer and couldn't find anything that might cause the problem - they said they could go no farther until the after-market remote start was removed. Wally agreed to un-install the remote start. When it came time for me to pay, he said "covered by warranty". After 2-months of running without the remote start and no repeat of the problems, I scheduled another appointment with Performance to re-install my unit. Wally had his installer go over every connection and re-solder if there were any questions. Again, when it came time to pay, "covered by warranty". I read CompuStar's warranty - it isn't 3-years. And for the past four days, it has started and run flawlessly. The difference between Good customer service and Great customer service is what you do when problems arise. I am going to tell you how I was treated and let you decided if my rating is valid or not. I bought my wife a remote started for Christmas from Performance Auto Sound and then set up an appointment for the install. The install was to take place between 9-11 AM. We dropped the truck off the night before and told them we would be back in the afternoon to pick it up after we got off work. At 4:30 PM we go to pick it up and it is not done. I am not happy as they have had the truck now for 7+ hours. I inquire why it is not done and am told by the installer that he got pulled off of my job to work on other jobs. Then at 6 PM I call and it is still not done. I talk to the manager and I am told that the installer did not allot enough time for my install. I've done a fair amount of business with Wally and the gang over at Performance since I moved to the area. Lately I've had remote starts put in my wife's car and my truck and yesterday they installed heated seats in my F-150. Workmanship has been excellent, prices fair and the equipment installed is of good quality. They have always stuck to the written estimate even when labor time and even parts have been required that were not on the quote. This shows some class and integrity, in my opinion. My only negative comment would be that all three installations have taken longer than estimated by a substantial amount of time which makes scheduling difficult. However, I also have to say they have communicated the delays well and have tried to make the inconvenience as minor as possible. I will continue to do business here in the future! read more

I'd recommend buying somewhere else or installing yourself. Went there years ago and ended up not having work done they quoted for, then when I brought this to their attention they refused to do the work without me paying more money. 10+ years later, I figure I'll give them a shot again. I go, get a quote, still seemed steep but I went with it. Couldn't make an appointment until 3 weeks later to get the stereo I bought installed (I did need a weekend appt, so I'll give them that, weekends are probably further out). Bring the vehicle in 3 weeks later (I have to drive over 30 miles just to get there as from out of town), drop it off, get a call 10 - 15 minutes later saying it'll be another ~$200 to install due to them misquoting. Needless to say, I had enough. They did give me my money back, however for this many issues to arise the only 2 times I went there, I can recommend every else just stays away, saves a bit of money and goes somewhere else. read more
