These guys were unbelievable, especially Dave! He got us into the right equipment and made absolutely sure it was working as it should. Highly recommend!!! read more

Needed a 1/4" TRS cable and called a few places. Most of these places didn't even know what that was. Then I called Performance Audio and not only did they know what it was, they knew they had them in stock. Went down there and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Highly recommended! read more

Cannot be more pleased. As described, some of the great cables at great prices. Quick shipping as well

I cannot be more pleased with the service and personnel at Performance Audio. I have been working with Mike by email and phone to get my Technics MK2 dialed in and updated. He was extremely patient, kind, and willing to help. His work is top-notch, and everything was completed as quoted and ahead of schedule. SLC is lucky to have technicians that are as professional as those at Performance Audio. I give them my highest recommendation! read more

I've got nothing but great things to say about this place. When you walk in, the first thing you'll notice is a clean and welcoming environment. Next, you'll be greeted by the friendly and funny staff, who made me feel like a valued guest, and even pulled me out of my shell a bit. I needed my turntable repaired, and they swiftly and knowledgeably addressed my issue, and offered a perfect solution-- not to mention an affordable solution. Though I came in for their repair services, I was impressed by the merchandise they offer as well. They've got everything, from recording equipment, to microphones, any cable you could need, and much more. 10/10 would recommend checking them out. read more

I had to rent some audio equipment and after calling about 10 places, this was the only place that had what I needed and seem to really only be the only players in town. Working with them was good! I had a lot of questions and was very specific. All went smoothly! read more

Stellar customer service and fast service with my custom cable request. Highly recommend. Thank you Chris!! read more

Performance Audio - Electronics Near Me - Salt Lake City, Utah

Needed an "emergency repair" of studio headphones. Scott was helping me - and told me that repairs dept. was backed up. It would be 4-6 weeks. Not having much choice - I accepted the bad news. It seems Scott and the PA team had taken pity on me. I received a phone call from Scott 20 minutes after I left. My headphones were fixed. I hadn't even made it back to my house!! "Off the charts" does not even begin to describe my experience. read more

Got a DJ DDJ-FLX6 Performance Audio is charging me a 20% restock fee even though the packaging was opened and one of the platters has a scratch that I did not do. Dishonest read more

Ordered 5 or 6 times now from Performance Audio. Each time the experience is great. Great selection of cable and a great price. I've ordered speaker cables a few times and the last order was a bunch of Mogami interconnect cable and single ended RCA connectors. Shipping to NY state is generally a few days depending on UPS. read more

I bought some audio gear while I was visiting Utah this summer. They were amazing. I came in a few times. I even returned one microphone after trying it out and they swapped it for me, no questions asked. They answered countless questions and they were patient throughout the entire process. I was really super impressed. This week I did a lot of online window shopping to add a few more items to my home studio. I did some comparisons between big name online retailers. I was shocked to find that Performance Audio not only had more items in stock compared to competitors but their prices were cheaper! AND FREE SHIPPING TO HAWAII???!!! I mean come on! How is this possible? Are you guys part of the mafia? I'm a very satisfied customer. read more

Picked up a DJ controller here, staff was super knowledgable and made the process easy, got an awesome discount as well. Will be back!

As others have mentioned, stay away from their online store! Placed an order for an item they showed as being in stock on Nov 17th and after purchase, received an email stating it now wasn't in stock and wouldn't be for 4-7 days. 14 days later and I've not heard from them so I send an email... only to have it bounce back as they haven't bothered setting up the email address correctly in their WebStore. Finally I get an update on Dec 01st stating the order has shipped... but now it's 4 days later and the USPS status still shows as the item is awaiting pickup and not even left their facility. The item was needed for Friday 08th so I guess I'm out of luck now. Will be returning it at their expense. Ridiculous service. read more

Outstanding source for custom cables. Broad choice of high-quality cable brands in all the gauges one might look for, along with wide choice of Neutrik and Switchcraft connectors. Options such as cable sleeves, straps, and custom labels can be included on the online ordering process. Many orders in last few years for instrument, speaker, and balanced cables with never a hiccup and always first-class build quality. Impressive turn-around times even for larger orders. Couple times that I emailed with a question resulted in a timely helpful response. read more

I wanted to buy a pair of the DPA 4060's stereo pair on their website. So I did just that. The website failed to mention they were out of stock I was told to wait 2-3 weeks. I couldn't wait that long as I had some recording to do the following week! Anyhow they kindly issued my refund but the problem is it could take up to 30 days to get the money back on my card. What a waste of my time. If you don't have something in stock, please clearly state it. I will not be doing business with these guys again. Stay away from these guys if you're doing online shopping. read more

Always professional. Always super knowledgeable. Always friendly. I have dealt with Performance Audio a multitude of times over the years, and have NEVER had a bad experience with them. They always treat you fairly, and go way out of their way to meet your audio needs, regardless of whether they are for professional or recreational. They won't make you feel like an idiot for not knowing industry jargon, but they CAN speak industry jargon with knowledge and expertise. read more

Fantastic customer service. I went in to check some Shure headphones, and instead of hyping up the more expensive product, they referred me to EarBombz for around $30, which met my needs and more and knocked a bit off the price as well. Then, later, I needed headphones repaired, and when they weren't able to get it done by the promised date, took off all the charges except for parts. Fantastic guys. read more

These guys are simply the best in Salt Lake. I've been a regular customer for a few years now and have had many positive experiences with them, but I'll just mention my most recent one here. I went in the other day to get a shock mount for an obscure vintage condenser mic. They didn't have one that would fit (it's a huge mic) and even after a quick Internet search we still couldn't find anything. Then Dan (one of their sales associates) remembered an old shock mount they kept around as a store demo. We tried it and it fit! I offered to pay and they wouldn't take my money. "It's just a demo model we've had sitting around. You can just have it." Well done boys. I'll be a loyal customer for years to come. read more

It's no wonder these guys have been in business so long. They really are one of a kind when it comes to product, but especially knowledgeable service. Today, I went in with an issue that I could not solve using three other very reputable vendors. Within five minutes, Ivan had the problem solved for me, complete with an audio check. That deserves a lot of recognition. Forge on Performance Audio! You continue to win my business! read more

They refuse to fulfill the order because they claim the address does not match my billing address. I quadruple checked the address is correct. A dozen other websites have no problem with the address I provided and they are happy to take my money. I sent several emails with no response. I've had my card stolen in the past and my credit card companies had NO problem shipping to the wrong address, which wasn't even close. But for some reason I now have a problem with the correct address. They need to either process my order or cancel it but I can't get a hold of anyone there! At some random point in the future they might take my money and I may have already purchased my item from another place. read more

I have bought and rented gear here. These guys know their products. They have always been attentive and considerate. Chip in the rental department spent quite a bit of time with me, even though I wasn't renting much gear. He went out of his way late on a Saturday to take care of me. I have tried other sound gear companies and have been very disappointed. Performance is now the only place I go when I need sound equip. read more

This is disappointing. I had asked for an gotten a bid to upgrade the video in our church. I then asked for a revised bid based on new specs and talked to my contact two different times. Love this place. So effortless. Chip took amazing care us for my charity event. Even had it at the door when I came to pick up!

Had a problem with my "old" stereo. Byron took the time to trouble shoot it and gave me a diagnosis--one half of the sound was gone. He even did a search on a low cost new receiver and sent me off to Best Buy. I tried to buy connectors for the wiring but instead he had the wire stripped and the end soldered so I would not need connectors. He did not charge me for all this but he now has a committed customer for future audio needs. Karin K read more

I purchased a new needle and cartridge for my Numark turntable in July of 2015. I moved across the country and opened up the case in October. I love Performance Audio! Thank you for all the help you have given me over the years with my little home recording studio! Everyone at Performance Audio has so much experience and such a wide variety of equipment and software options and were able to give me specifically what I needed. I didn't have to spend money on features I would never need. This has saved me so much money. In addition, they have stood behind their products. I have called several times to ask about how my recording software works and they have always been so willing to help and answer my questions. I just can't recommend them enough. read more

Ordered a little windscreen for my headset for $4. 3 weeks after my order, I get an email that they will not honor the free shipping in my invoice but will instead need to charge me $29 for shipping (500% more than the item I purchased). What can I say? These guys are the bees knees. I'm grateful to have an awesome brick and mortar audio supply store here in SLC that has competitive pricing and impeccable service. I bought a pair of sony mdr 7506 mixing headphones that had an electrical fault and like an idiot, I brought them back, 2 days out of warranty, no box, no receipt and they still took care of me. For that service, I would be willing to pay the markup of floor retail, but they still go above and beyond for me. I left that day with a new focusrite audio interface I was on the fence about and their service sold the product. It's chill, the employees seem to like their jobs and are knowledgeable (which tells me everything I need to know about management.) And I love supporting anything other than the big box stores for such expensive gear. Give Dave (and Tina? The manager. Sorry I've forgotten your name.) Raises. Thanks. Customer for life. read more

When my wonderful vintage 1980 speakers finally fell apart, I wanted to buy a new set. I quickly gave up on the big box stores. I called PA, and they made it clear that I could try out multiple speakers in their testing room. I went there, and was cordially helped by a young fellow. I quickly realized that my ears were "old-fashioned," and I hated the modern, high-pitched speakers coupled with subwoofers. There just seem to be no fullness to their sound; they lack midrange. Up on a shelf was pair of used JBL Studio Monitors, with a "SOLD" tag on them. Hearing our conversation, and understanding what I was after, the boss stuck his head in, and indicated that those JBLs were available. We hooked them up...oh baby did they sound great! With an 11" woofer, the bass was phenominal, without the annoying booming of a subwoofer. The treble was sharp, without being painful. I bought 'em. The boss even threw in 30 feet of high-quality speaker cable!! I have been extremely happy with them ever since! For friendly service PA can't be beat. If you want fine audio equipment, and the ability to try it out before buying, go to Performance Audio! Five big bright stars. Mike Nagle read more
