Steve Mesolella is an insurance adjuster working for Progessive Insurance. I filed a claim with…read moreProgressive for property damage. One of thier clients damaged my retaining wall at my house by driving their van into it. Steve Mesolella called me with an outrageoulsy low estimate, and tried to bully me into taking it. Said my contractor didn't know what he was doing. Tried to tell me my property had already been damaged and that I had not maintained my wall. Tried to basically call me a liar. How the hell can he make a claim that my property was not maintained, he has never been to my house before then. The person who drove their van into my wall damaged it. Then Steve said "he had a guy" who would come fix it for me at his estimate. That is completely unprofessional and against the law. I understand insurance negotations, however this guy was completely rude, unprofessional, and a bully. Two idedpendent contractors told me my wall had to come down and be rebuilt. Steve tried to tell me that the wall could be readjusted and pushed back. He was condescending and thought I was some stupid female that he could bully. Completely unprofessional and unethical behavior from a person who claims he's been doing this for 30 years.

Since it ran under my land the town had to drill a huge rectangular hole and then "patch" it up. My request asked for a possible reseal which would have covered the sight up a bit. Instead they typed up a letter of DENIAL which was then posted via Internet and actually made me look like a criminal. Eventually I had to resurface everything years later and decided to post a warning...DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. I have no explanation for their behavior except an attempt to save money at the expense of a paying client. Shame, shame, shame....

My sister is disable veteran with Parkinson and had a water leak which caused damage. The insurance adjuster came out and indicated what needed to be replaced. However, the claim adjuster said I need to provide receipt proof of ownership and refused to pay out the claim indicating that we couldn't prove the washer/dryer emerged in water was the real reason it didn't work. DON"T USE THIS COMPANY! Go to one of major home insurance companies. They might cost more but they pay out when you actually have damage to your house. Narragansett Bay is a fraud and want to keep your premiums and make money. THIS IS A DISHONEST Company. BEWARE of their claims adjuster Renee Gilmore.
