I searched for a local black nail shop and found Perfectionist Nails. I've been coming here on a regular basis for a full year now and Charmy is wonderful!! She is patient, attentive, very-detailed, and is in-tune with all of the latest trends. She has all of the equipment and items just as other shops...the only difference, she's a one-man band! Appointments and deposits are also required. Originally I thought that making appointments would be the worst because I was used to walking in other nail shops whenever I needed services; now I value my 1-on-1 time with her, the privacy, our conversations, laughs, and the ambiance of her space. I booked an appointment online for a full set and i added a soak off because i had on gel polish and on the booking app it says come with no nail polish or it's an extra charge. It was my first time getting gel polish and i couldn't take it off at home with my regular polish remover so that's why i added the soak off. So the nail tech Ms.Charmy proceeded to text me and tell me she would be in between two clients when i came in because the soak off takes about an hour and a half. So she asked her 3:45 to come in a whole hour and forty five minutes early because she assumed i was soaking off acrylic and not gel polish. However, when she noticed it was only gel she still proceeded to take the woman whose appointment was originally at 3:45 while i waited for close to three hours; at this point the gel polish was off my nails i was legit just waiting. Then when it was my turn she was just super nonchalant about my waiting and gave me a free cuticle oil pen for the inconvenience lmaooo in my opinion what a joke because why; just like you asked the 3:45 to come in early she could've asked me to come in early instead to soak and my appointment would've been on time !! And at this point my nails are also not the most appealing to look at. They're extremely FAT they could've been filed down into a cleaner and slimmer square shape since my nail itself isn't this fat! The regular nail polish smeared right away and i get it i could've gotten gel but if you offer regular polish i just believe you should have a way for clients to make sure our nails are completely dry before we leave. I'm on day two and they're hella smeared . Oh and my pinky nail on my left had is crooked or filed at an angle whichever. All around unhappy and it was a bad experience. Cute space though. Update: it's now Tuesday and my thumb on the right hand is bent lmaooo they're so thin ! read more
