Not knowing any mechanics in Maryville I went on Yelp and found Shell towing and service. I called them and talked with a nice gentleman by the name of Marshall. He told me he would give my daughter a call and set up having her car towed to there shop. Within 30 minutes Marshall had my daughters car picked up from her house. My daughter told me Marshall made her feel comfortable and safe. Marshall called her after getting her car to the shop and said the starter was out and needed to be replaced and it would be $420 including the tow. So my daughter told him to go ahead with the work. She called me about 30 minutes after that conversation and said Marshall reached out to her again and said her original starter was good but it was missing a bolt so they went ahead and put a new bolt in it and her car was ready to go. My daughter told me her bill was just $120 witch was labor and the tow. Marshall and Shell could have easily said they replaced her starter and taken $420 from my daughter. But they were honest and respectful and made my daughter feel safe. It's really nice having someone who you can call, since as parents we aren't able to be in the same town as our kids all the time. They said that "he's a straight shooter" and "he'll do you right." They were absolutely right. I couldn't have been more impressed by the customer service, friendliness and speed of my repair. The guys in the shop were excellent, showing me exactly where the problem had occurred in the engine (water pump) and how it was connected to everything else. They got the part in within an hour and I was back on my way $220 later. This price also included an oil change and an quick AC repair, by the way. (Google searches indicated that this would normally have cost me $400-600 for the water pump alone, but Greg's doesn't overcharge for labor!) This repair shop is a gem!!

So I made my appointment and brought my car in. later, I received a call from Dave with great news; it wasn't the pump after all, it was a different part that cost a lot less to fix; what a blessing. Can you believe how honest he was when he could have just replaced the pump like I assumed was the problem anyway? You can't find honest people like that any too easy anymore.
