I didn't get to meet the new dentist, Dr. Sloan but my hygienist, Tacia, was amazingly friendly, thorough, and gentle. Her assistant, Lynette, was also very helpful and friendly, as was the receptionist, Gabby! What a different feeling in that office. I'm actually looking forward to my next visit. read more

Don't get braces here unless you want to be held hostage with months between appointments, constantly cancelled appointments, appointments scheduled when the office is closed, double or triple bookings during for appointment time, changing orthodontists with no notice or explanation, and no clear timeline for ending your care. "I don't know how much longer this will take." They advertise having orthodontia care, but don't have an orthodontist in the state. She flies in from California. It's an unacceptable level of care and the office staff are left suffering because of terrible decisions made by the company. Do not go here if you can avoid it. Do Not come here! I went there for a general check, the hygienist did a quick check and said I have gingivitis and need periodontal trays. Then they brought me the bill for the treatment plan which is over $1500 after insurance, and asked me if I wanted to pay full or half first. I made a snap decision and paid half of it. They took me to do the gum scanning right before they closed the office. After I left, I read their Google reviews and found many people have had the same experience... So the very next morning I called to ask for a refund. The manager told me there's nothing they can do cuz the scan was automatically sent to make the trays. After finding perfect teeth had lied! Telling me, after 30 days, they still were waiting on my insurance co. When in fact, my insurance had not yet even heard from them! I should have known better! As it seemed highly unusual for them to provide me with their NPI number and other office info to see if they were inA didn't even offer to make a temporary crown for me. My insurance completely denied their pre-authorization for a simple bridge. I quickly made an appointment at the dentist office nearby. And my insurance company is happy to pay for the work. Fast, friendly service, but be aware of the RIDICULOUS product pushing and upselling. I've been going to perfect teeth for almost four years and appreciate the staff. They're friendly, down to earth, and their dental hygienist, Mindy, is knowledgeable and efficient. My teeth cleaning gets done quickly and I'm in and out within 45 minutes. On the flip side, I can't get through a single appointment without 3 different staff members pushing their expensive products. They'll try to throw it in the bill and I have to listen to a sales pitch multiple times for some $1000 hydrogen peroxide tray. I'm one sales pitch away from leaving. As a new patient, I needed over a dozen x-rays which are painful with hard plastic in your mouth. I then waited almost 1 hour before seeing the Dr. I have a cavity, which they will hopefully fix in a couple weeks. Then I waited for the Hygienist Mindy, for 20 min. and she said I need a deep cleaning. As I arrived at 1:40 and it was 4:00 I explained that I could not stay for the cleaning, as my husband was semi invalid with tendons torn from his knee. They sent the receptionist in who read something to me and made me sign it. Then she made two appointments for me. Their copier had a low toner problem, so it was difficult to fill out the initial paperwork and the bill with my two appointments had half the page white. front desk staff is great! dental assistants are great too! dds john jayman is awful. he pushed a veneer on me when i was just supposed to get a composite build up on a chipped tooth. the reason he didnt want to? "its too temporary." he wouldnt even talk to me, he just makes his assistants parrot his words, so getting his actual opinion is impossible. he just goes straight back to his office. I have had 2 composites already, they work, and theyre cheaper than a $3.5k veneer. he also recommended a nightgaurd, to which i told him i wear retainers. he walked away before he could even hear that, because again, he doesnt actually talk to patients. this was my first visit, and it will be the last. no care for patients on john's end, just how much money he can suck out of you. read more

I have been with perfect teeth for about 3 years. Just recently moved to this location. The staff is so kind and accommodating. I normally dislike going to the dentist but I felt so comfortable. I had a very positive experience. My cleaning was very thorough. All my questions were answered. Mindy was my hygienist, and she is so sweet and knowledgeable. My husband and I will not be returning to this dentist. We both experienced a very long wait and unprofessional behavior from the staff, lack of training of how to use basic dental equipment, unfriendly demeanor. They also took so long to just give xrays and try to sell my husband $1000 worth of unwanted and unnecessary dental services and Brident specialty items that they ran out of time to perform any basic dental cleaning and told my husband to come back another day. I am writing a review regarding the Dental Hygienist that worked on my teeth the last time I was sen at Perfect Teeth on Stone Ave. Melissa Canez did a wonderful job of cleaning and informing me of the things I have to do to take better care of my teeth. She saw my teeth and was concerned that there was so much tarter, I had previously gone to another dentist office for cleaning, they did a terrible job, no real cleaning. She took a before picture and after picture of my teeth. She knows her job, is kind and patient, explains things, I was very please with the best cleaning I have had. I would like to continue with her, but unfortunately, she will not be anywhere near to where I can go see her, I am sad that the office on Stone is closed. sure, I got an appointment quite quickly. That is after I did all the footwork for them to make sure my insurance would pay their office. This is something I've never been asked to do by any provider. My visit was on May 3. It was decided that Perfect Teeth was going to send in a pre-authorization to my insurance company for a bridge. today is June 12, 2025 and as of today my insurance company has still not received any pre-authorization request. Oh yes, they received a bill for my first visit. But no pre auth!!! My time was wasted. And my insurance co $$$ wasted. I have called every week for the last four weeks and have been told that someone would return my call. But no one does. Now when I call I get directed to patient services. Which apparently is somebody in a foreign country, he's very apologetic, but of no help whatsoever. If I was you, I'd keep looking. Because these folks are a bunch of quacks! I came into their office missing a crown. Even a three year old could've seen i needed a bridge, or an implant! I am so angry to have waited over a month for these incompetent people. My wife and I recently got Solstice dental insurance and found Perfect Teeth through their online in-network finder. We went in July 2023 and the visit went great, and the staff was friendly. What has turned out to be a nightmare is their billing department. We were sent a bill for the entirety of our visit charges, what should have been covered by insurance. When I called the insurance company, we were told that the particular dentist we were scheduled with was out of network. When we contacted the Perfect Teeth office, they admitted that they had a misunderstanding with the insurance company, and assured us they would resolve the billing issue. Now 6 months later the issue is still not resolved. Every time we received a bill from Perfect Teeth's corporate office we would call the local office, and they would say they were still working with insurance to resolve it. Most recently I have called about this on 1/8/24, 1/18/24, 1/29/24, 1/30/24 and 2/2/24 (My phone history only goes back so far). The only number provided on the bills is not the corporate office, though, so we would call and speak with Jackie or Andrea. Both did their best to be helpful and had been working with the insurance company to get things cleared up but had no number to provide us to reach the corporate office and no way to stop the bills. I expressed my concern about being sent to collections as the corporate office didn't seem to care about this ongoing situation, and they attempted to reach out to corporate via email. As of January 29th, I was sent to collections by Perfect Teeth's corporate office in direct disregard of the situation that they created and poorly handled. I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau and looking into what other forms of action that I may be able to take as fraud was committed on their part. I'd say any good reviews are from years ago. This place has gone downhill terribly in the past couple years since being sold. Recently they sold my balance to a collection agency even though they assured me they wouldn't and even though I'd been consistently paying on it and only had $200 remaining. Most of the staff has left because of what a poor environment it's become. Last time I came in the poor girl training clearly hadn't been trained at all and gave me a full on shower. I was covered in toothpaste and water by the time I left all through my hair and all over my clothes and face and some in my eyes. She also kept putting the x rays in upside down so my mouth was raw by the time someone helped her. Then I met the new dentist who is inappropriate at best and has a tendency for harassment at worst. First time I met him he started singing the dukes of hazard song and talking about how hot Daisy duke was and asked if people ever called me that and "oh how the boys loved those shorts of hers"????! I will say: Mindy is an absolute angel and I'm grateful I got to see her for my cleanings. I just can't continue going here with everything else being so terrible. I don't even know if she even stills works there, I hope not! She deserves better! Stay away from this place. Bait and switch! I have been going to this office for over a decade and has changed dentists many times and the techs/staff is a revolving door of trainees and those who aren't new to the industry don't last long and move on. The hygienists have been the only ones there for any period of time. Since cooperate has taken over it's always upsell add on products and services. They also quote services at one price at time of service then bill for higher amount at a later date. Recently I was billed for 6 products and only received 2 and will not credit account. The district manager who approves/denies disputes is not allowed to be contacted via phone/email/ or in person. read more

The Doctors and hygienist here are pretty good, but the billing side leaves a ton to be desired! I've been in and had cleanings and cavities done for a few years now and have had no problems with the professional side, however, on 2 different occasions I've received the "surgical plan" with cost explanations and what the total will be. (If you can't pay you have to figure something else out and they won't work on you) And paid my bill just to have an invoice come a couple of months later telling me I owe more. The last time was a cleaning and a cavity filled. I signed off that I would pay the price and got it done. A couple of months later, I get a statement telling me I owe $125.00 more! I'm not happy so I called and spoke to the office manager and he explained that the insurance company said they didn't charge enough (?)and I owe more. I've never heard of that! We got into a somewhat heated discussion and I explained to the office manager that what the dentist charges is one thing and what the insurance covers is another. No where can the insurance company dictate how much the office charges. That's called price fixing and that's illegal! The manager couldn't understand (or didn't want to) and said that I owe that money! I doubt that any place would stay in business very long with that kind of business plan!!! The end result was that the manager will contact corporate and tell them why I refuse to pay and said that I wouldn't see another statement. The next month I got another one and made another call to Perfect Teeth. I was told it was a mistake and to throw the paper away. It's been a little over a month now, I haven't seen any more statements, but honestly, that means nothing! This used to be a great practice, but it has gone way down in the past 2 years. You can go back in reviews and see I left them a 5 star in 2017. The turnover in the practice has been bad. They only have 1 dentist who I refuse to let touch me due to a very bad experience in Jan of 2019. The dentist was doing a crown prep and bruised my face so bad that it looked like someone punched me in the face. He was so rude to the tech that I was embarrassed. (She is no longer with that practice.) They had to refund me for the proceedure. The reason I even gave them 2 stars, is that I did see a specialist that comes from Phx, Dr. Wallin. He was very good. The only person left at that practice that I know is Tara, who is always welcoming. The other issue I have is that they are charging a Covid fee for each visit to cover their PPE costs. So who pays for mine!!. I think it's a very poor practice during this stressful time, when so many people are suffering financially, to put their cost on their clients. I absolutely love this place. I've been coming here 5 years and I've always had the best experience. The hygienists and staff are always really friendly and accommodating. They have a new dentist who did an amazing job on my fillings the other day; he's friendly and enthusiastic about his work, and he's got some really interesting tips on how to prevent teeth clenching and grinding in day to day life. I've struggled with jaw clenching for years, but my jaw is already in so much less tension pain today, even after only a few days. I got suspicious and got a 2and opinion from a local dentist who has been in buiseness for 22 years. He reviewed all xrays and my teeth. He had them do a normal cleaning and I had none of what perfect teeth said was wrong just a couple fillings needed.$637.00 total. Perfect teeth are liars and thief's. i have been a patient at Perfect Teeth for well over 15 years and I'm embarrassed to admit that I knew I should have fired them Long ago. I have many complaints, but it all came to a head this October of 23. I ended up with a bill well over $1000. my husband freaked- so we both looked into the bill and EOB further. after consulting with my dental insurance, we come to realize i should have paid $308 and that they were not following the contracted negotiated prices set by insurance. think about that: almost 13 years of being charged incorrectly...the office itself can't help much so they send it to "corporate" but they won't tell you who they are or any contact info. it took me a few months, and a strongly worded letter threatening legal action, and letters from my insurance to get them to agree on refunding for October. They don't seem to know what "I'm network " means- they know nothing about "maximum allowable charges" I strong urge anyone to steer clear of this and all corporate dentistry. they are shady, money grubbing fraudsters. read more

I can only say that when a patient reports prior to an appointment that they are handicapped with spinal nerve damage and in treatment, it is unprofessional for the dentist to treat the patient badly. Several noted inconsistencies were reported. All businesses and employees must be familiar with the American Disability Act. I did nothing wrong but to show up for my appointment. My mom is 88 years old. She decided to change dentists at the suggestion of her friend. With her age I am the one driving her around to medical appointments. She got the discounted first cleaning and X-rays and all was well. Very nice staff. They did a 2nd appointment for a deep cleaning that she told me was going to be $89, they also suggested that a tooth needed work. We we got there it turned out that the $89 was for a discount card and actual work was over $1,000 but without the discount card it was over $2,000. No problem just $89 today and sign up for a credit card and make installment payments. The credit card jumps to 26% after the intro period. I quickly googled the procedure on my phone and the $1,000 price seemed 2 or 3 times what it should have been. My mom has very limited income at the extra $100 a month impacts her quality of life. We decided to get a 2nd opinion with her old dentist. Their price for the procedure was much lower and it turned out she did not need this extra cleaning or the work on her tooth. After reading other reviews with similar stories about this particular office I felt the need to post this review. As they say buyer beware. read more

I'm giving this place an extra star because they got me in quickly when I had tooth pain. Their front office staff is cheerful and friendly, but the back office people I dealt with seem less professional. Everything seemed very rushed, once I was taken to the back and x-rayed, I was in and out within 5 minutes with an antibiotic prescription and an appointment to see the oral surgeon. Here's where the problems really started. I returned for my appointment with the oral surgeon and again I was seen very quickly. Apparently the oral surgeon is only at this office ONE time per month and I was lucky enough to land an appointment. Well, once I was taken to the back it seemed I was dealing with staff who came in with the oral surgeon, they were very chatty with one another in front of me and at one point even joked about it. It was very unprofessional and frankly rude to delay my care so they could gossip. Because my initial visit at the office was at the last moment and semi-rushed, I didn't have the opportunity to address all of my concerns with my teeth. Before I even mentioned this to the staff they were talking about how busy the office is because the surgeon is there just one day per month. Once I brought up my concerns they immediately changed my appointment from an extraction to a consultation and began trying to talk me out of having the procedure and just have a consult with the doctor instead. With the lack of professionalism, the chaotic atmosphere and the fact that they openly did not want me to have the procedure so that they could fit in other patients left me feeling extremely uncomfortable. The front office staff tried to reschedule my appointment but at that point I didn't want to wait a month to see the oral surgeon again. They offered to try to schedule me directly at his office but couldn't get through to anyone. The girl at the front said she could call me back that day or the next day and never did. I have been coming here for over a year. I was transferred from a store in Tempe after I got married. Brandi,office manager, went above and beyond and rectified my bad experience at the Tempe location. Tara,front desk, has been more then pleasant and accommodates my weird schedule and gets me in and out promptly. Dr. Shmidtke has fixed the bonding on my teeth and was funny and easy to talk to (even through my phobia of dentist). Today I had the best hygienist. She was funny and we talked about our love of fitness. I called and spoke with Brandi about this (and a complaint I had about another staff member being rude) and she heard me and assured me this won't happen again. I had gone to aspen dental for a "free x-rays and exam" they said I needed deep cleaning of the gums at the cost of $2000. I went to perfect Teeth, they said all I needed was a regular cleaning and they noticed several problem areas on my teeth where aspen dental had said my teeth were in great shape. I visited this office after seeing an excellent price on a new patient exam: $cheap, so the wife came with to get hers done as well. The whole team seemed fine for the most part, just a regular dental office as far I was concerned. What I am rating them so lowly (I would go negative if I could) was the hygienist trying to scam my wife and I. We had concurrent office visits, and the hygienist told us both the same thing: we needed root planing and medication yardda yadda....:$1000. Yowza! Just to get your teeth cleaned. The thing is that when the hygienist performed the gum depth check, I felt as if it should hurt more if she were probing my gums at my teeth, but I hardly felt anything at all! Wow, I was shocked: I have periodontal disease and need root planing! I heard the numbers: 4, 5, 5, 3, 4, 5.... My wife had the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE. I'm not sure if they just do this to everyone that comes through for this special new patient deal, or if the hygienist was low on quota for the month. I visited another HIGHLY recommended dental office and experienced a completely different scenario. I could feel them probing my gums at my teeth, and the numbers were significantly better. Like totally normal. So I have the wife get hers redone. Same. Seems like Dr Drummer's hygienist is faking the funk while trying to build her root planing quota. I paid $250 to have my teeth 'deep cleaned' by my new doc, opposed to the ~$1000 bill that this place wanted to ring up for 'root planing' (by the way, my new doc is the most expensive in town). Very, very pleased! From setting an appointment over the phone with Tara-to interacting with the front desk (I hate that I didn't get her name!!). Each step was outlined and I knew exactly what I was getting myself and my teeth into lol.
