Bowling just so happens to be my favorite pastime and Perfect Games is one of my favorite places ever in Ames, IA! My mom/friends even held my surprise 21st birthday party here last year. I probably come here 1-3 nights a week. $2 games and shoes after 9pm M-Th and lots of random food and drink specials too- Like cheap wings, $2 wells Tuesday's and I think arcade games specials some other nights! I've only ever had to wait for a lane if it's intramural bowling season but I can't get mad when I do intramural here too! Great staff (shoutout to Evan for being helpful on my birthday), yummy foods and bar options, and all the lanes you could dream of! Anyone that knows me knows I may as well pay rent here. 10/10 place!!!

The place is not only fun but to do everything is expensive I spent 300 one round of bowling, two game lazer tag,two pitchers of soda, two pizzas, two pretzel bites and two funal cake fries! Staff was so friendly and kind! Party of 10 people

Awww! What an awesome night that was spent here along side my husbands family! Cosmic bowling went from one hr to 3 hours of play. The vibe was fun. Pitchers of miller brew just kept flowing! found myself devouring cheesy.slices.of pizza! I will be coming back for more fun this place has to offer from arcade games, laser tag, pool tables, bar area with large.t.v screens.

My 15 month old on the merry go round awesome you can buckle your little one on!

Cool bowling alley but very bad service from the staff on multiple occasions. Wouldn't recommend coming here unless you have to

To start out... I'm not a local, I come to Ames once a month for work and love to try new bars and…read morerestaurants.. Figured I'd give this place a try! The feel and ambiance... mixed with a touch of nostalgic. Upon entering you are greeted with tables and chairs inches from the door. We thought that we entered from the side door. There was no host stand or sign stating that you should order in the back at the kitchen. We were confused. During our meal the radio was playing, and not nice music but a crude talk show that happened to be talking about someone getting a Brazilian wax... You'd think the place could pay for Spotify or music without ads... The booths were a tad old and crusty - But I suppose that's where the nostalgia comes in. The food... much to be desired. It was all cheap just okay. Everything lacked flavor. Nothing to write home about. The salads were massive and a great bargain. The cheese bread was disappointing, it was just melted cheese on a sub bun with store bought sauce. For a location called sauce and dough company. This was expected to be a highlight, but ended up being something that could easily be made at home. The pizza was decent, but confusing at best. For someone's first time, I'd expect there to be signs or mentions that the honey should go on the crust... I only found that out after once I read reviews. The crust was dry and lacked flavor without the honey or other seasoning... Am I the only one that thinks that you should not need honey to make pizza palatable. Also, if you add honey you add 70 cals each tablespoon. I know I didn't come to eat healthy but also... Everyone is right, so many toppings and cheese. But again, lacks flavor. The prices... very reasonable. We got two large salads, two beers, an app and a large pizza for $50. Very reasonable. Overall, I won't be back but am glad I at least tried an Ames staple.

This seems like your average local pizza place but what's special about it is the honey crust…read morecombo! The workers are kind and it's a casual spot where you order at the counter and take it to a table to eat.

Awesome place that really surprised. Clearly a farm to table concept with a varied but overwhelming…read moremenu. Came in on a weeknight with coworkers and received good service and fantastic food. Nice drink menu (I enjoyed their take on the old fashioned) with cocktails and a nice craft beer selection. Everyone loved their food, from the barley soup to the ravioli, burger, Brussels salad, and the salmon I got. Hidden gem perhaps was their incredible dessert selection. The cherry tart was a pleasant surprise and the salted caramel chocolate cake will def fix a choc craving. Would gladly come back.

Provisions Lot F in Ames…read more If you like fresh baked breads and bomb desserts, along with amazing food, head to Provisions if you're in the area. Pork Belly app: thick cut pork belly in lettuce cups, topped with sweet thai glaze, pickled carrots, onions, celery, mint, thai basil, cilantro, scallions and crushed peanuts. A tad sweet for me but overall this was a great app. Slice of Sourdough: delish. Chicken Japchae: since my mom has celiac disease, we were very excited to see this on their menu - dining out with her can be a challenge. Especially at a place specializing in breads! The only unfortunate part about this dish is (I think) they forgot they already salted the chicken and salted it again...and then again. I'm not one to say something is too salty, I love my sodium but this was mouth-puckering salty. Inedible, actually, but the noodle dish itself was SO GOOD that she set the chicken aside and ate the entree. NY Strip Steak: perfectly med-rare, served with a garlic-rosemary potato pavé (like a potato casserole of sorts), roasted broccolini and a house steak sauce that was similar to a demi glaze. Not a bite left - no leftovers with this one. I ate the whole dang thing. Myself. And I have zero regrets. Crème Brûlée: I also couldn't leave without ordering a crème brûlée because there are some really bad ones out there. This did not disappoint. I also took home a Dubai Chocolate tort, Raspberry Crumble and a Flourless Chocolate cake. ZERO regrets but if you love Dubai chocolate then you know there are some discusting renditions of this in the market. However, the Dubai chocolate tort at Provisions Lot F is . I can't even describe how delicious this was and is worth the drive to Ames just for this dessert. If you're north of DSM for a game or whatever, I highly recommend Provisions! I'm already scheming a way to get back there...soon!

Then the employee decided to get a manager? Then the manager per say walks out and tells me that they were closed for carry out but open for delivery. I said well okay I guess I'll just order for delivery. I then called the papa John's phone number which is obviously an remote worker. The phone worker gives me the two options of whether I'm ordering for carry out or delivery. Weird since I just walked to the physical store and they say they are closed for carry out. Well then again I am an African American with dreads so why would I get the privilege to walk into their establishment when it's "closed." Now I ordered delivery which will take an additional 35 mins when I literally live across the street. Hopefully they CHOOSE to serve me when I place an ONLINE order. Currently waiting....poor customer service. Update just got my food at 1:10 order total was 31.16 I handed him two twenties. Then he tried to just walk off as if he wasn't the one who told me that "we're closed." As hes running off I say my change? "Oh shit I didn't realize" no but why did I have to ask him for my change? For what reason would he just try to take his own tip. I then said that I want my change. He replies, "how much do you want back?" What or how is that confusing on I want my change. So having to do math with no receipt I say I'll just take $8. He quickly replies, "no you can't do that" I can't get a carry out, I can't get my change back, now I can't get the right amount of change back? After figuring out math in his tiny brain he says oh yeah you can do that. Then had the comfortably to say oh yeah it's pretty dark. Can you double check to make sure I gave you $8 . Do I intimidate you that much for you to not know how much change you literally just gave me? Lucky I even proceeded to give money for very poor customer service. And lucky that I can't post my doorbell camera video on yelp of horrible service
