I asked them if they could alter a jacket that I made. It was too baggy, and needed some adjusting. The lady looked at me like I was crazy, and said that it was too involved. She was very snooty and rude. walked away, feeling embarrassed. I took the jacket to my Dry Cleaners, Crystal Cleaners, and asked the alteration lady to have a look at it. She said it needed to be taken in, where she pinned it, a button needed to be moved over, and it needed a snap. She asked me who made it, and she praised me and applauded, saying I did really good, making it all by myself. She looked at the lining, and said what a beautiful job I did on the lining. She praised me, in front of another employee, for making and even designing the shirt-jacket. She told me to take it home and sew it myself, since I sew. She even gave me a free snap to attach to my bow. I will never go to Perfect Fit Alterations. I will always use Crystal Cleaners Alterations. I am even including a picture of my jacket. read more

Very poor customer service! I waited a month and a half for 1 dress to be altered (which seemed very long) and when I picked it up I was unhappy with how the bottom turned out (I was tripping on the material) and asked if she could take a bit more off. Owner proceeded to tell me how it was "fine" and that "I was probably just standing on carpet". I explained I had already paid $100 for it, was unhappy, and asked if she could simply fix it. She then told me she was never doing business with me again and hung up. We have been doing business with her for 20 years and she has now lost life long customers. Do not recommend!!! read more

So friendly and quick with hemming and steaming a bridesmaid's dress I had. The price was also very fair. Definitely recommend!

A coworker of my girlfriend recommended this place saying both he and his father have been going to them for years. I need 5 shirts tapered so I brought them here. With a 17" neck it is hard to find off the shelf dress shirts that aren't super blousy. I guess shirt makers figure that if you have a thick neck you must weight close to 300 or something - grrr. The tailor/seamstress definitely was friendly and very accommodating to my request to have all 5 shirts done in 4 days and this is the reason why I'm giving the second star. However, I was nearly knocked over when I went to pick up my shirts and was quoted a price of $123! Three shirts were $29 because I also had them shortened; the other two were $18. In the past, I've always just had a seamstress at one of the dry cleaners do the alternations and the cost was in the $10-$12 range. What is really irking me is that there is no listing of prices for services and at no point was an estimate given. Frankly, a couple of these shirts weren't even worth the alterations and had I known the costs to alter them I would have passed. Talking to our friend, he was shocked and said he only pays $10/shirt and we are guessing he's getting some kind of regular customer discount. I will fess up and say that I have since done some research online of what the going rates were and $20 seems to be a fair rate so I'll take some of the blame for my naiveté. Going forward, unless I have a very nice (expensive) dress shirt or need some kind of special work, I'll be going back to my dry cleaner tailors. read more

Good service and attention to detail. I have taken many items in for alteration and have always been satisfied with quality and price. Minus 1 star for missing promise dates. I now call ahead before heading out for pickup (usually a good idea as the product sometimes isn't ready and that call saved me a trip.). I like the shop. I took my sweater to Perfect Fit to fix a small tear. It was prom season and they told me it may take just a little bit longer then usual. I told them I understood and that it wasn't a problem. Three weeks later I had yet to receive a phone call. I stopped by and they said they would have it ready the next day. TWO MONTHS LATER. I go back demanding my clothing back, whether or not it was finished. They told me the reason I did not receive a phone call was because their phones could only call locally. Um, ok? My sweater was "probably" finished, but it was "put up with the winter clothes." They said they would call me the next day. That was a week ago. I'm so pissed. It's probably not worth threating and/or suing them over. I will NEVER use their services again. read more

Very Disappointed. Brought 3 dresses to be taken in, was given a price of $16 per dress and when I picked them up she told me they were going to be $30 each without calling to let me know. I tried them and noticed two were not done properly. I went back and she wanted to charge another $20 per dress. Had I known it was going to be over $50, I would not have had them done in the first place. Simply Dishonest. read more

I just had some work done a Perfect Fit and dropped my items off on a Monday. I let them pick the date and time that it would be ready, and they said I could pick it up the following Monday at 1. When I went back I was early (got there around 12:30) and was told that my items were not ready yet and I should come back at 1. I figured I was early so this was no problem, I would just kill some time and come back at 1. When I checked back at 1 they asked if it would be ok if I pick it up the next day. I said no, but they told me there was no choice. So in the end they wasted part of my day when things weren't ready as they should have been, and wasted my time having to go back and pick it up the next day. If they would have called ahead and told me there was a delay it wouldn't have been as big of a deal, but instead I had to drive there to find out. As for the actual work, I would say it is average at best. I have had better work done by other places in Greensboro and didn't have the have to deal with the hassle of things not being done on time. read more

I don't normally do stuff like this but just wanted ppl to beware. So I needed my daughters blanket fixed I went to one alterations place they didn't do household items but they were nice enough to provide a list of other places that may be able to help. So I went down the list and Perfect Fit was on the list so I called and a female answered saying yes they could fix the blanket. It was also convenient bc it was like 5mins from our house. So I dropped the blanket off 7/24. The lady didn't get her name but she wears glasses I assume she is the owner. She had me write my name and phone number on a card. She also gave me the other part of the card in which she wrote the time (12pm)and date 7/31 it could be picked up. So I go to pick it up around 10mins til 1. So when I walk in I see the blanket on the counter still in same condition when I dropped it off. So she said "oh I forgot I am sorry" so I said I don't have time I have to be at work will it be ready tomorrow so she said yes. I asked the time she closed and she told me 2pm on Saturdays. So once I get home I call back bc my husband said no it should be fixed today that is what she told you. So I called back but forgot that we agreed to Saturday so she said I thought u would pick up Saturday. So I said yes but I have to work so I said I can come on my lunch at 1 we'll get to work Saturday morning my lunch was changed to 2pm which is the time she close. So I was able to combine my break n lunch so I could get there before she close at 2. I am working from home now due to COVID so I got stuck on a call. So I called her and asked her nicely if she could please wait I understood she close at 2 but explained what happened. She stated yes. I got there a little after 2 and there was a lady in front of me. So I when it was my turn i was pleased with my blanket and she said $12. So I told her I didn't have a problem with paying but what was her policy when items are not ready at the time she told me. While giving me my change she said we don't do discounts and walked away (unprofessional n rudely). She then says you were late also so we are even. I said yes correct however I called you and explained to you why I was running behind. My item was suppose to be ready yesterday and it wasn't so that was inconvenient for me and you had my name and number so you could have called to tell me it wasn't ready. I said no worries I will not return and never do business here again. I understand I was running behind but I was nice enough to call her but I didn't get the call when my blanket wasn't ready when I was told it would be ready. So that was unprofessional of her and today could have been avoided if I had my blanket when I was told it would have been ready. read more

Perfect Fit is a "Perfect Failure" for me. Took in 4 pairs of new pants to be hemmed and they screwed up 3 of them. Returned before Thanksgiving requesting that 2 of the pant be redone (a 3rd pair was correct and 4th pair was shortened so much that they were not wearable and had to be discarded). 7 days later I went back to get the pants from her second attempt and they weren't even started yet!! Unbelievably, the owner became indignant that I complained! She denied screwing up my pants in the first place, but then changed her mind and stated that if I wanted to wait one more day, she would fix them. Notably, these alterations for all 4 pairs of pants had already been paid for; that money was lost, I then had to pay someone else to correct her mistakes AND had to replace one of the pants. Save yourself the grief and aggravation - suggest that you go elsewhere . . . read more

Just recently dropped off four pieces of clothing to have small holes repaired. I have had this done many times in the past with other tailors. I was told a week, which was fine with me. I drove all the way to pick up my clothes a week later with my 16 month old son only to be told that they were not ready. This was very frustrating especially since I had my son with me who does not like running errands. All I would have liked was a phone call to let me know they were behind and I would have been fine. It would have saved me a trip. I was then told that I could pick them up in the morning. My wife decided she would pick them up for me while picking a few things up before we left town. Amazingly they were still not done and she had to sit and wait for them to be finished, which put us behind leaving town. Again, a phone call would have saved us the frustration of driving over there to wait longer. While they were apologetic to me the first time they weren't ready, they were not apologetic to my wife who had to sit and wait. Mistakes happen and people get behind. I understand this, but would have liked a phone call and apology to my wife. I will say that the work that was done was good but was not happy with the customer service. read more

Horrible experience here! I was referred by a family member who had great experiences here, so I took my bridesmaid dress to be altered a week prior to the day I arrived to pick it up. I got a phone call the day it was "finished" asking me to please pick it up by 5pm, although they close at 6pm. I was running a few minutes behind, so I gave THEM a courtesy call advising them that I was running a few minutes behind, but was on the way to pick up the dress. She states that the dress was unfinished, she was working on it and by the time I got there (35 min drive) that she would be finished. My distressed 5 month old and I arrive only to find her still working on the dress, remember that she'd had for a week. She states that they've been extremely busy and she got behind, which I understood. I and my daughter patiently wait for about 10 mins and she yells from the other side of the wall "can you come back tomorrow to pick up the dress?" I politely stated that I rushed here to pick the dress up and I don't live locally so I would prefer to have it today. She continues to work on the dress. 15 mins later she then asks can she mail the dress and she won't charge me for shipping?! By the time I was extremely upset. There is much more that occurred after she stated that, like a charge of $85 that was not quoted to me prior to the work being done. The individual that referred me payed much less than that for similar work. Nonetheless I will not be returning to Perfect Fit. The customer service deserves no stars at all. read more

I am very disappointed with the service and the work of these women. I brought in 4 pairs of work jeans that were too big. It was 11/25, stressful time taking care of my clients with Thanksgiving coming up. When I finally put on a pair of jeans for work I had noticed that it didn't fit any different than before I brought them for alteration. I brought them back and the girl at the front desk said "we don't always get it right the first time." The lady who pinned the pants said it would cost me to get more work done. I lost my temper. I had already spent $56. for nothing. Now I have no work pants to wear. I would not recommend these people at all for any reason. The customer comes first and they were defensive and arrogant. I was referred to Perfect Fit Alterations for alterations on my wedding dress and a shorter wedding dress for one of my receptions. The ladies at Perfect Fit were patient with explaining what I could do with the alterations, and while measuring my dress. I had a bustle added, and they carefully demonstrated for my mom how to do the bustle, and it was so easy and we had no problems on the wedding day. The price was a bit more than I expected, but when I compared with what my friends had paid it was a lot less, and I had actually had a lot of alterations done. For my shorter party dress, I took it in on the Wednesday before the reception, which was on a Saturday. I had lost a lot of weight in the month before the party, and was stressing out when I put on the dress and realized it was huge and kept falling down! The lady did a wonderful job of taking it in on both sides, and she offered to sew in a strapless bra so I wouldn't have to worry about that. The pricing for this was much less expensive than I expected, since it was very last minute and seemed a lot of work since the dress had ruching and had to be taken in a lot. Since then, I have taken several other dresses in to them to be hemmed or zippers replaced, and my husband took in a suit to have the sleeves hemmed. Perfect Fit has done a great job on everything, and their prices seem very reasonable. I do recommend calling before driving there to pick anything up, because if they are busy it may take a little longer to get something done. But I have found that if you tell them that you need it by a certain date they will have it done by then. Highly recommend them! read more

This place is far from "A Perfect Fit". I had a pair of pants that needed to be altered for my son. We pulled up to the store, the light was on, the "Open " sign was lit up, and the door was unlocked. As we went in there was a lady on her cell phone. I should have known this was a bad sign as I walked in and she did not greet me, or get off the phone. I waited about 10 seconds, and she half heartedly turned her head, cell phone still on ear, yapping, and asked what I needed done. I told her I needed the pants altered, she asked by when and I replied the day after tomorrow. She motioned, still on the cell yapping, for us to go and put the pants on. We waited in the altering area for about 1(one)minute before I screamed over the wall that we were ready. Still yapping on the cell she walks over picks up her pins and started pinning. No she did not ask what? how? or anything. At this point I asked her to "put her cell phone down, and conduct business appropriately. Well this woman had the nerve to tell me that I was "in after hours and that she was doing me a favor". I replied I did not ask for any favors, and how are you doing me a favor if I am going to pay you for your service. Okay, and if she was closed she needed to lock the door and turn the "Open" sign off. Needless to say things hit the roof, as I ushered my son out the door. I would strongly suggest the no one go to this business if they want in the least "Customer Service". This lady should be embarrassed to treat any customer in the way I was treated. Also, She thinks so little of the customers she does have, she does not even cover the altered clothing with a plastic protection to leave her store. I shout "This Place is Far From A Perfect Fit".
