Jane suggested La Paradeta--and wow, she nailed it. The concept is brilliant: you walk up to a display of fresh seafood, pick what you want, and choose how it's cooked--grilled or fried. I went with the herb tuna (a perfectly grilled steak), seafood soup, and a crisp salad. My friends ordered octopus, mussels, and a whole spread of oceanic delights. Naturally, we taste-tested each other's plates like true travelers. The vibe? On point. Casual, lively, and full of locals and tourists alike. The service was very good--efficient and friendly. They had wine flowing, but surprisingly no sodas (LOL). Honestly, it added to the charm. If you're in Barcelona and craving fresh, no-frills seafood with great energy, La Paradeta is a must. It's the kind of place that turns a layover into a memory.

We just went with what they recommended (grilled, tomato sauce). Everything was delicious and very fresh. My favorite was the shrimp, which had a nice sweetness. Definitely one of the most memorable meals I had during this trip to Barcelona.
