Mallory with Perdido Beach Services was AMAZING! My best friend and I have stayed at The Best Western Premier The Tides several times and it doesn't disappoint. This year was extra special having Mallory " Malpal" as our beach attendant. When I say her customer service was impeccable, that's an understatement. She is one of the hardest working beach attendants I've ever seen. Her work ethic and customer service speaks for itself but her personality and character is a different positive topic. She was VERY attentive and even remembered which one of us needed more shade and which one of us could stand more direct sun. Mallory is a HUGE asset. She added to the enjoyment of our annual trip and will never be forgotten. Fantastic trip to Orange Beach made even better by having Mallory as our Beach attendant. read more

She was rude, unprofessional, and seemed completely uninterested in any questions we had & made us feel unwelcome as if we were a burden. I am the General manager of a local beach hotel and some guests shared with me that one of your staff, Zane, is nothing less than a hero having reacted immediately to a cry for help from a pregnant mother and her two children, one of which was diabetic, when they got pushed out into the gulf further than they could manage and were in dire straits. Zane reacted immediately and dove in to rescue them. With the assistance of others on the beach, and eventually local medics, all three were saved. The guests were confident that had Zane not reacted as he did the results would have been tragic. Kudos to Zane for his heroic effort! read more

It's great not having to give a second thought to beach chairs and umbrellas. And the equipment was top notch. Very comfortable. We stayed at The Best Western Tides on September 9-13, 2019 (maybe someone will figure out who the lousy attendant was). The first day we were there we had a very pretty college girl studying CSI. Long blonde hair in a ponytail. Very professional and personable. She was fairly attentive as to keeping the umbrellas positioned. Second day we had Shannon, and this guy was the cabana boy to end all cabana boys. He was awesome. Even recommended a great restaurant for that evening. Third day the attractive blonde college girl was back but she spent more time going back to the hotel room than she did doing her job. She never once adjusted my umbrella. And I had to help some older folks around us adjust their umbrellas in her absence. There were people that showed up and took chairs assigned to other people because the attendant wasn't there to keep an eye on things or rent equipment to walk-ups. You don't have options as to where to rent chairs from once you get to the beach. Period Beach Services is your only choice. Someone needs to figure out where the attractive little college girl kept disappearing to while she was supposed to be working. read more

Pros: Chairs were comfy and most attendants were good at adjusting the umbrellas to the shade of your liking. Prevented having to lug stuff out to beach every day. Con: At Orange Beach, people can set up right in front of you blocking your view. This group had loud music, drinking, and vapes. You're stuck with the same set of chairs assuming there are no others available for rent for you to move to. We asked and they were all rented and we couldn't move. They pull the cushions and umbrellas up at 5pm, just when it's getting nice out. read more

Worst business ever. But we have no other option. Every single day, new attendant, no one communicating from day to day, so everyday I have to go through the process of doing it myself. I call every single time and nothing has ever changed. It absolutely sucks having to deal with this company run by kids and there is absolutely no way to talk to anyone in power to make changes. It was convenient to have chairs and umbrellas ready and waiting on the beach. My only issue with the chair rental is that you get them between 8am and 5pm. We rented two chairs and umbrellas for $210 for 6 days. Each chair seats two people. Our chairs were never setup before 9am except on one day. If we packed up and left the beach between 1-3pm, the chair mats and umbrellas were gone well before 5pm. We returned to the beach between 3-4 on several days and sat in the wooden frame of the chairs because the mats had already been put away. Other than that, the guys managing the chairs and umbrellas were very polite! read more

I rented chairs for 8 days. I'm on day 7 and they still haven't set up chairs. I have to go down each morning and either put my own chairs out and wait for umbrellas or drag chairs from behind big tents. I am sitting in the sun with no sunscreen right now waiting on umbrellas. If you can avoid it don't use this service. customer service is awful. One, There is no standard in where they will set up your beach umbrella and chairs. one day it is in a perfect spot. The next it is too far back from the water. Two, The customer service when you call in is not helpful at all and is actually argumentative and is not capable to understand that one crew sets up forward and the other crew sets up too far back. Just a headache to have on vacation. Consistently unreliable on such a simple thing. read more

It was very nice to be able to rent 2 chairs under a cabana for 2 days. Every morning it was set up with cushions and an umbrella just waiting for us to arrive. Kai, the attendant was friendly and would check to be sure the umbrella was in the right spot throughout the day. I have to say Kai is one the hardest working people I have ever met. We stayed at Silver Beach Condo from 7/24-7/28. The guy working on Mon & Tues was rude. I asked to rent a chair at 8:54 and he said they didn't open until 9. He was sitting in his chair beside his orange umbrella and all of the chairs were already put out. He said they could adjust umbrella for a "gratuity" after we already paid $85 to rent for 3 days.... Also, people who do not rent will set their chairs & umbrellas up right in front of you. The rented chairs need to be placed closer to the water. Just bring your own stuff and set up in front of the rented chairs. Much cheaper...... read more

Very disappointed they have done away with the wooden beach chairs. We are surrounded by them at the condos on either side of us. The folding chairs are uncomfortable and rickety. The attendants at the beach chairs spend 95% of their time on their phones which leads to patron confusion and people sitting chairs that are already reserved and paid for. We've had difficulties both days of our stay. The first day we reserved chairs the night before and when we arrived at 9:30 am there were none available and we were told we could have folding chairs if we wanted. The second day we had chairs when we arrived (at 7:30am to be sure), but when we went to lunch someone else sat in them. We had already paid for a full day reservation. It's ridiculous! read more

Kia took care of us all day long! Kept moving umbrella for us and making sure we were enjoying ourselves! $30 for 2 loungers with umbrella was awesome! I do wish they would discount for multiple days though, just a suggestion! Thanks Kai for making our day at the beach great! Ok so today a totally different experience, had to wait 1.5 hours for Cade to finally show up to take our money then he disappeared for another hour, had to flag him down on his four wheeler and ask him to move our umbrella and he said he'd get to us in a few and kept going! When he sat down in his chair instead of coming to us my mom started walking over there and he must have realized as he jumped on it and moved the umbrella after telling us we couldn't have one chair in the shade and one in sun?? Maybe he should have Kai show him as it was no problem for Kai, so after he left the guy next to us did it for us! We are still down here and haven't seen him since! Best service on the beach! My grandfather built a lot of the condos in orange beach and we have been in Romar House for 30 years. The perdido beach service out in front of Romar House has always been fantastic, and this summer, Ray has done a great job being attentive, present, and pleasant to interact with. I've also been out on the catamaran Wild Hearts to see the blue angels fly, and that was a first rate adventure with great crew! Always excellent experiences with this company! read more

We wanted the wooden beach chairs that are cushioned and recline flat. Early in the morning, Ted assured us that he would bring us a set of four because I said I would walk to the complex next door that had them. When we arrived at the beach, we were told that management refused our request and we had to rent the cheap rental chairs. They comped our first day as an apology. We were at the beach for five days. Our second to last day we arrived at the beach late afternoon, to find our front row seats taken by another group. Since it was late in the afternoon, we didn't complain and took the second row. Upon arrival our last morning, we couldn't find the five chairs and three umbrellas that we had paid for on the front row. The attendant found our seats on the second row with people sitting in our chairs. They were not paid for, so the got up and left. He apologized for not knowing that we were supposed to be on the front row, but nothing was available. Had I known, I would have gone down at 7:00 am to make sure that we had our seats. With the labeled wooden chairs, we NEVER needed to reserve our paid reservations each day. In all fairness, our attendant did his best, but seemed overworked and overwhelmed with the lack of communication between him and the attendant from the previous day. If this company is going to use cheaper chairs, the least they should do is have a label on each reserved set, and a drawing schematic indicating placement. read more

This was my first visit to the Gulf Coast Beaches. I was staying at The Hampton-Inn at Orange Beach. On our first day out there was no attendant anywhere and we weren't aware of what the attendants were for. The containers were open and so we grabbed cushions and an umbrella., never got approached by anyone, used the cushions and umbrella for about an hour and returned them when we were done to where we had gotten them. The next day we did the same in the late afternoon as before and I was approached by an attendant wanting to know if I wanted to rent for the rest of the day but it wouldn't be worth it, (the time was 4:46). I asked how much and he said $30. He quickly grabbed the umbrella and then rudely said "I'll take that cushion too". My point is we had no idea, your signing does not explain about rental fees, just about reserving a seat. There should be better signing since so many tourists use your beaches. read more

We arrived to Orange beach from a 12+ hour drive. We went to the beach at 4:30 and found two chairs that said open next to them. We looked for someone to rent them from and found no one nearby. Finally a girl walked up and we asked if we could rent them. She said they closed at five but we could rent them for the remaining 30 minutes. I asked for a price and she said $35. She said she only takes cash. I had $30 cash and asked if this would work for 30 minutes. She immediately says no without calling her supervisor to see if that would work or giving me a chance to get the other $5 needed from my room. She then proceeded to pack up the two chairs and then walk over to a group of people next to us and shotgun a beer with them. I am assuming since she was in the yellow shirt with the company logo on it and still collecting chairs and umbrellas and placing them in the white storage sheds, that she was still on duty. Terrible customer service. The next day we moved down to a different company who was friendly, helpful, took payments outside of cash and not once did I see anyone from this team drinking beer with people on the beach while on duty. read more

Micah was more than attentive and went above and beyond. We saw him set up every morning running in between tasks not just grazing the sand to get the next chair/umbrella set up. When asked why he never sat down the entire day, he said it's just his ethics. "If I am sitting down and you need something, you might think you are disturbing me and refrain from asking me. That's why I want you to know that I am here for all of my guests at anytime waiting to fulfill all of their needs." WOW! Unfortunately after 4 days (Thurs-Sun) at Sea Spray with him spoiling us, his Weekday replacement never ONCE said hello to us. We had to move our umbrella ourselves all day. I guess if you pay in advance the replacement guy stops caring. Anyway, Micah deserves a raise! What a valuable asset to your company. Recognize that! read more

We stayed at Sleep Inn on the Beach in Orange Beach and rented lounge chairs and an umbrella. I'm giving them 2 stars only because their service people were so nice. Unlike other services in this area, they do not take debit or credit cards, and you cannot charge to your room (cash or check only). This is really inconvenient, as I don't generally take my checkbook or much cash to the beach. We arrived about two hours before they closed on our first day at the beach and asked for a quote for the next two full days and for the two hours remaining on that day. The service person quoted an almost entire day's fee for just two hours, which I did not take (although I did book the two full days). It seemed odd to me that they would rather let it sit there set up and unused rather than make some money on it. Also, they did not have enough service people to handle the work. Our chairs/umbrella were never set up before 8:15 AM and we had to do almost all of the repositioning of the umbrella ourselves because their personnel were just not around. We also lost the last three hours on our last day--Orange Beach had light rain but because there had been a lightning strike in Foley, they said they were not allowed to have umbrellas up. We were not offered a refund. We plan to go back to the Sleep Inn next year, but I'm seriously thinking of purchasing our own chairs and umbrella rather than deal with this again. read more

My family has a condo on the beach here so we use the beach services pretty regularly. Last year the service couldn't have been better! Becca was very attentive and always moved the umbrella as soon as needed to keep people in the shade. This year the service has been disappointing to say the least. The guy in our area told me to wait for his friend and he would get us set up. This was after waiting 20 minutes for someone. The same guy came back and took chair pads from our neighbor's chair and walked right past me to give the pads to someone else. After another 20 minutes I went looking for my own chair pads. Found some in the second bin way down the beach. About 15 minutes later someone came to collect my money and gave me a receipt. Not once did they move my umbrella. My next beef is that when they were taking down everything for the day, they purposely came to get our stuff first even though the entire line of chairs had been vacated for the day. Not how I would run a business. Needless to say, they have done nothing to deserve a tip. I wish Becca was back. read more
