Victor Corral gently and clearly guided her step by step through the process and then put her choices on a written contract. It all went smoothly and stress free. Then my mother unexpectedly passed away on July 5, 2025. Victor and the wonderful and professional staff at San Jose Funeral Home East immediatly and compassionately took charge of arranging all the details of her funeral with our family. Needless to say, the funeral exceeded our expectations. The oak open casket, flowers, Celebration of Life Video Slideshow, live singer, program hand-outs, entrance photos of my beautiful mother, rosary services and transportation to Ft Bliss National Cemetary--all took place flawlessly and beautifully. My heartfelt appreciation to Victor and all the wonderful staff at San Jose Funeral Home East on Pellicano!

When a service is paid for in advance they disregard and only seek additional funds. My grandmothers insurance covered more than the services cost and they stated they keep those funds to "keep them afloat". If this was a non profit type of business i would understand but you're overpricing every single thing you offer. My grandmothers services were all covered at the restlawn and they still wanted to tack on an additional service at their location. She took care of all of her affairs prior to her departure to avoid any problems or delays and since they're not making any money from pre paid services they have no interest. DO NOT purchase anything additional from them. Flowers, urns, obituary (which they upcharged over 400%). It's $40 at the local paper. Give your business to a local florist instead . No type of sensitivity to the families of loved ones and total disregard for humanity and only a business transaction for them . This applies ESPECIALLY to Terri Duron. At the end of it all when we went to pick up the death certificates she still found a way to squeeze in an extra charge for a priest we didn't even use (my grandpa paid out of pocket for one), leaving us with a balance owed. If I wasn't there to catch it they would have charged my grandfather . I wonder how many other families they do this too on a daily basis all to make their commission . Terry when you are told we don't want flowers , that doesn't mean you ask every family member you encounter about ordering flowers from you . NO means NO. You should work in the car sales industry not a funeral home where atleast some human decency and empathy is required . Also make sure to take a translator if your family member only speaks Spanish as they struggle to properly relay important information that they do not know how to say in Spanish (Terry). This entire thing is a horrible joke . Don't put your families through this take your business elsewhere. And if you use them , DOCUMENT everything and check your bill at the end because they take advantage of mourning families . Shame on all of you .

We had requested police escort they added it to the contract. When he comes back with the card he tells us that the secretary did not add up the math correctly. So they had to charge a second time for the police escort. Then the day of the rosary I look at my loved ones signature book and his last name, age and the date he passed away were wrong. I go and address it with them and the secretary tells me that they would get it fixed, because they order those from a different company. An hour later I go back to see the book and I see they tried to make corrections, and they still had it wrong. His age was still wrong and December were misspelled. So I go and address for the second time! And not to mention the fact that they lied and tried blaming someone else for the mistake on the book. So they had to fix it twice. Then the day of the rosary my loved one did not have on his tie, so I asked them if they were unable to put it on and the lady tells me that they did not give her a tie and she knew because she was the one who dressed them. I told her that he did have a tie because I'm the one who chose his clothes and personally took it to them, which happened to be his favorite Express skinny tie. They told they were going to try to look for it. The next day we go back for the funeral, they gave us 1 extra hr with his casket open and he did have a tie, but it was not his! I went to the secretary and I expressed how upset I was and why would they not admit their mistakes and just try to cover up for them. And not to mention how bad his makeup up was! Would not recommend at all!

She is aware and attentive, and leads her team by example. In my experience with Restlawn, they made sure the family I was assigned to needed for nothing. Their funeral home is well equipped and intimate. I mean to say that it is set up for one event/one family at a time. Truly the team will take care of you the entire time, without the distraction of competing for resources during remembrance/celebration of your family member's life. They can provide a variety of services. They can provide overnight and extended visitation on their grounds, or arrange for visitations at your home if you want. They are bilingual and have the options of Latin music, if that's your flavor. In my expeir nice on the day of the remembrance, the team welcomed me early and made sure I had what I needed to support my assigned family (I was a Casualty Assistance Officer). They hosted folks in a hospitality area prior to the memorial. They have a nice sized chapel area. Their parking lot is pretty big I'm the rear to allow for a procession to form and travel to a cemetery that's local. The Angel Restlawn team did a great job coordinating with the National Cemeteries team. They made sure the transfer of remains to the cemetery was done correctly and respectfully. As folks came in for the event at the funeral home, the team were there directing them to the appro places. Angel Restlawn will take care of all your funerary needs.

When I was in high school I had a speech teacher/professor (yes, he taught outside of my high…read moreschool and yes, I took college classes in high school) that I, to this day, believe knows everything a person could ever want to know about anything. I never feel the need to fact check anything he's told me because if he's a liar I don't want to live. It would ruin me. So getting to the point...he told me about how years and years ago cemeteries weren't just for the dead and those in mourning. How parks weren't as prominent and because of how well kept cemeteries were they were actually used by many in the same capacity as a park (kids running around, picnics, etc.). When I go to Concordia I can only imagine how wonderful it would be if it was well kept because of the history that's within it's gates. No matter how long I spend in Concordia, I'm always intrigued by a grave I've never seen before. This cemetery is basically full, but is one of El Paso's oldest so it's simply captivating. I'll be honest, it's a horrendous cemetery. It's all sand and dirt, some tombs are really just a chain link fence, and some of the headstones are broken. But there's something that just pulls you in. They also have ghost tours here that could be pretty interesting. I will say I have had a few encounters here that could be called paranormal-ish, but I'm still not convinced they weren't something else (but it still makes for a fun time). This is a place worth experiencing and if you can do it at night with flashlights, even better!

Our mother was cremated without any consent or confirmation from the family regarding whether we would be present. Hillcrest (Sophia) unilaterally made this decision, depriving us of the opportunity for a final viewing. When this was addressed with staff, they shifted blame onto family members, causing even more pain during an already devastating time, rather than taking accountability. They assumed it was the right decision, which was unacceptable and deeply hurtful. Be aware, their staff shows lack of competence. The staff showed poor judgment and did not take the initiative to clarify. Staff was Dismissive and untrustworthy, as we were blatantly lied to. The Person handling our mothers arrangements, Sophia was on The phone with the crematory and she told us that it could be postponed till tomorrow an hour later we received a call stating the process was completed, which made no sense. Horrible experience for a grieving family. No family should have to endure this. Use a different funeral home, let competent people handle the care of your loved ones.
