A new cafe from the team behind Cafe Park Lane in South Melbourne, Per Diem Cafe in Richmond follows the same formula with a simple menu and great coffee.
Coffee is from Five Senses and made well. Service is great as usual.
As for the location, the cafe is a great place to stop to refresh after shopping on Bridge Road. Located off the main strip, but conveniently close, the cafe has taken over an old milk bar and still retains some of the features. The fit out is simple but super cute, bright and airy with retro furniture and flowers throughout the cafe.
The simple menu is accompanied by organic Red Hill apples and freshly squeezed juices. Offerings on the menu include muesli with fruit, wraps, muffins and avocado on toast.
I have given Per Diem Cafe only 3 stars at this stage as their food offering needs some improvement, however I highly rate everything else, especially the coffee. Being newly opened for business, I expect that the menu will be improved as they settle in. read more
