The first guy on the line who you tell what you would like to order was very rude had a attitude and I had to repeat 3 times what I wanted on my rice bowl. The guy had a curly ponytail with glasses he seemed very frustrated which is not my problem. Had to let the second guy on the line help me and he got my order right. Just wanted to post that I tried PepperJax tonight for the first time. I had a chicken and rice bowl and it was so good! Better than expected. But I wanted to especially call out the staff. Both workers behind the grill as well as the cashier were so nice and friendly. They were all working hard the whole time I was there, both during busy and down times. So what we have here is the Chipotle of Philly cheese steaks. don't bother with other menu options besides the steak Philly, or perhaps the steak on a salad. Their chicken was mediocre at best, and tasted overly processed. The good news is the steak which is grilled right in front of you is actually fairly lean but still juicy. Topping quality is above average as well. You should load your items up with all available veggies (onion, mushroom, jalapenos, green peps). As a major tip, ask for no seasoning blend on the steak. You cross the boarder in to salt overload. Cheese is handled by what tasted like a creamy white American, a respectable choice and rivals provolone. PepperJax kills it by offering around 10 self serve sauces. That spicy ranch is delicious, just the right amount of heat and what tastes like blended in olives and jalapenos. Experiment to find the right sauces that fit your needs. Quality has been consistent, and everything is always fresh and warm off the griddle. The buns go through a toasting process and are soft yet strong enough to contain the large amount of ingredients. Final thoughts: The Philly is 6$ which is 100% fine in my book. A solid value. The fries were good enough steak fries and go well with the sauces (try the gravy), but if your starving I'd go for the double meat option over the fries and come in at 10$. With that said, I can see PepperJax expanding. And to conclude, service has always been great at this location. read more

IT'S TOO LOUUUUD! I shouted at the top of my lungs that I wanted them to make my Philly a "fireball," meaning they would grill the meat in jalapeno sauce. They didn't hear me, and it's no wonder - they've got a lot of chefs in a really small space with a lot of burners running. My ears were ringing by the time I got to the register. I gave this place 4 stars, though, because firstly, the sandwich was far better than what I've gotten at the Philadelphia airport and secondly, I was able to load up the sandwich with jalapenos and hot sauce later on. It's an awesome experience when a restaurant makes accommodations for food allergies. My wide has a mushroom allergy and loves Philly cheese sandwiches. My only minor complaint was that the food preppers weren't being too careful about keeping people's ingredients separate and I ended up with onions on my sandwich. Here for the first time tonight after hearing commercials on the radio. Wasn't sure what to expect... Basically it's a gourmet quick serve restaurant. They specialize in their "America's Best Philly" but also serve rice bowls, giant wraps (which are like big burritos) and salads. I got a chicken salad and my husband ordered a steak rice bowl. We were both very pleasantly surprised! The food is cooked right in front of you (think Chipotle but the meat and selected vegetables are actually freshly grilled right there when you order) you then can choose what toppings you want (beans, rice, veggies, sauces). There is also a condiment bar where you can put more sauces on if you desire. Both of us loved our food and are already looking forward to a return stop. Everything us super fresh and the meals are served in generous portions. Great value too - oir two meals (without sides and glasses of water) was less than $14. The staff is super friendly. They smile, serve you quickly and act like they genuinely care. The restaurant is clean and bright/upbeat atmosphere. I will not hesitate to recommend Pepperjax to my friends and family. read more

The classic philly is wonderful; however, the chicken philly is not chicken but rather processed chicken patty that was tasteless and awful. When you say chicken I expect chicken breast or shredded chicken not a patty that was spongelike. It was unappetizing and definitely will not suggest that sandwich to anyone. So we have to head back to the midwest to see the family and of course Pepperjax is high on our list of food to eat while in town. We got into town late one evening and it was our only chance to get some Pepperjax. We rushed all the way across town to the Clive location. Of course we were the assholes that show up right before close. So at 9:45 we rush in to get an order in before they close. The PepperJax Grill in Omaha is what made me a fan of this fine mind blowing establishment. I typically get the "bare essentials" Philly which is really just the meat doubled, then cheese. Why add to something already great? Maybe someday Ill delve further into the world of additional ingredients but for now I don't want "jack" to interrupt the great taste I have always known since day one. Ordering is simple. My only issue last night when we ordered was that with what seemed like FIVE guys in front of the grill one would think fresh fries would be ready to go... but here, they decided to throw in a batch AFTER we ordered. Understand, for me to be upset at service at this place is hard to do because it is a casual laid back environment. So when I get the fries... it couldn't detract from the great sandwich I was overindulging in anyway. Manager was out on the floor and seemed very friendly. Sitting area could be a bit more spacious but please don't go in construction mode on my account. Wife and I went for our first visit Sunday afternoon. A few customers in the store, but lots of help. We both ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and with an order of cueso and chips. We both felt the sandwiches seemed too salty, but had not clue as to why. The meat, if nibbled on by itself tasted fine. The cueso was tasty with bits of peppers, but could have been commercial. The place was very clean; the menu had several items unexpected in a place that tries to make its mark with Phillies (burritos, salads, etc.). For us, it was a six mile drive to get to Pepperjax Grill -- our meal would not justify another trip. But give it a try, something on the menu might be worth trying. read more

Stopped in for lunch a little before 1 pm. I have been here an abundance of times and have never had a problem. Today however, the service was barely above par, as was the sandwich. Plus, when I got to the checkout counter I had to wait five minutes for the girl at the register, and the tattooed guy in front of me(there's nothing wrong with tattoo's, I have several, also) to finish flirting and talking about "collabing" in his downstairs studio whenever she would like to. Once they were done, she wasn't able to get her bearings enough to ring my order in correctly, so I had to wait another several minutes for her to get the manager. Another person commented that the cooks were not being as careful as they should be with the individual meals, this happened to me as well. The thing I felt was the most bizarre was that there are no trays. You purchase a sandwich, basket of fries, and a drink (3 items with 2 hands). How do you carry it all?? In addition, you have no room to carry condiments... Just seemed odd and not organized. I know I'm picking on some small stuff here and I'm sure they are minor bugs that will be worked out.
