Root Note Studio showed me that learning to play was certainly within my capabilities and set me off on a path of learning I couldn't even have imagined before I started. Working with Liz and the other folks from RNS has enriched my life in so many ways. Not only can I now play guitar but I've learned a lot about how music works and I've made a ton of new friends in the process. I can't recommend them enough.

Mike is very relatable and is able to explain things in a simple manner to help me understand the guitar. They even offer virtual lessons and help you learn at your own pace. He has fun analogy for everything with helps you understand things quickly. I was able to get everything I need at their store to prepare for my guitar lessons including picks, a guitar stand, changing strings for my guitar, a tuner, and my lesson book. I can't wait to be a rock star like Mike and Diane! I highly recommend taking lessons and also calling if you have any questions. They give quick responses and get straight to the point! We have taken guitar and piano lessons here for the last two years and could not be happier. The teachers are engaged and interested in teaching kids things that enhance their skills and keep them interested. I wish my parents sent me to this kind of place growing up instead of learning to read music for "Mary Had a Little Lamb". Bad enough for piano, imagine it for a kid that wanted to learn rock guitar. The space was recently spruced up and has a nice vibe. If you are interested in lessons for guitar, bass, uke, drums, piano and a few other instruments this place is definitely worth checking out.

We stopped…read moretaking lessons there in favor of something more local since we moved and as the old song says, you don't know what you've got till it's gone. The educators at North Main are not just well versed in music, but they're professionals. When we had lessons scheduled for 6:30, they started at 6:30...not 6:40 or even 6:50! The instructors knew how to make music FUN for our daughters- they practiced during the week and they couldn't wait until the next lesson. When we first signed up it was explained to us that if we missed a lesson for whatever reason that makeup lessons weren't promised, yet on the occasions that we did miss a lesson due to vacationing, sickness, whatever, they always managed to fit us in at another time. We tried two other places (that shall remain nameless) and the instructors were not in North Main's league. The owners didn't seem to care about anything but money. The kids were nowhere near as motivated or interested. Lesson learned: when I asked the kids if they wanted to go back to North Main Music one of them literally started jumping with joy. We had to wait a couple of weeks for spots to open up and everyone was delighted when we finally got the call. They even asked one of their students to switch time so that my kids could take lessons at the same time and the student was nice enough to agree. It now takes us an extra 20 minutes or so each way to drive to North Main Music but it's well worth it. Thanks, guys!
