Until I worked here I didn't know all the useless and awesome stuff that I could have. I was in here in November and spent a good amount of money on just those things. The most important one being a "phone cleaner" it is pink and has lots of little tentacles and it cleans my iphone better then anything else. All for $2.99

The folks at Stratus have been amazing to work with. We dropped in just to check out their granite…read moreslabs (their selection is incredible btw) and ended up fulfilling all of our tile/counter needs with them. There are a lot of places in Traverse City to go for tiles and flooring, but the selection and service at Stratus is hard to beat. And countertop slabs, they're THE place. Highly recommend.

Good luck getting a straight story. The showroom salesman (evidently Robert) indicated they could…read moreaccomplish everything on my rendering within a two month timeframe by mid year. The field rep was booked for 2 weeks before appointments but sounded excited about the project. After not hearing about an appointment for 1 1/2 weeks, I finally tracked her down and she curtly told me they wouldn't do my project and were booked for the year. Waste of time.

Why would you put a price for a product that a huge majority would expect done in the first place? Whatever. Sent me an estimate and in the fine print (why fine print when there is plenty of room to make the information the same font size so people can easily read it?) stated that the demo cost and removal is not included in the estimate. When I requested the cost of demo and removal the president refused to disclose the cost of demo and removal. When I explained that I need to have an idea of all costs, Mr. President ( he listed himself as the president of the company, I'm guessing to let me know there is no point to complain up) informed me he won't do business with me because "our price mindsets are different". I told him I've never been politely fired as a customer and I'm 56 years old. He replied he's been in business for 46. I am sure they probably do good work, but to treat me like he did for simply requesting all costs of a project prior to paying 50% of the costs reflect arrogance and my need to share this with others. Lots of people can install countertops. I went somewhere else and I am glad I did.

I don't know if it was the giant (ACTUAL) tree trunk in the middle of the store, the calming array of houseplants (which, despite my brown thumb for indoor plants, I love so much), the terrarium building bar (again--I would fail miserably but OMG so pretty), the amazing ceramics and planters, the small but excellently curated collection of art supplies (many imported from Japan!) that had me asking myself if I needed more pens, the small batch chocolate bars, and so much more. There are so many cool nooks and crannies here that it took me three passes before I felt like I had seen/considered all my options. In the end I bought 3 plants (and they're all still alive!), two chocolate bars, some stickers, and a few other small bits and bobs. Already yearning for another trip back there! I can't wait!
